A great chance to taste the desert and the Bedouins lifestyle: the camp, the food and the Bedouins amplify your experience. Most of all: we felt welcome. Hope to see the place and the people and the country again.

What do you sleep on at the camp?
You sleep on cots, and a boatload of very thick blankets, inside of a tent. If it's winter time there it will be freezing at night. If it's summer, it still gets cool at night.

What time is the pickup for this and what extra expenses should I expect? Thank you.
Once you arrive to Wadi Rum village by rental car, taxi, or bus. You will be dropped of at the gathering point where the Tours start or your trip to the camp begins. Exact timings depends on what program you have selected. So best contact the camp. I did a full day Jeep tour that started at 10am. Extra expenses should be few Jordanian Dinars to enter the park, and tips.

Hi! I keep reading about "do it but be precautious" about the night at the dessert in these camps, being a solo woman traveller in her +twenties.. What's the precaution to have about hiring any of these recommended companies? Isn't safe? Thanks!
For any camp you are considering read the reviews and see if there have been any complaints from single women about safety. You will be grouped with other travellers when you go on the day tour. In the evening everyone at the camp hang around the fire and a single person can easily join in with others. The tents that have the private bathrooms are away from the camp and less people stay in this tent block. If you take the normal precautions for single women you should be ok.
