Jordan Tracks is a licensed camp and excursion agency operating in Wadi Rum since 2005. Our traditional bedouin camp is nestled against mountains to shield our tents from the elements. It is situated in the protected area of Wadi Rum, a short ride from the village but away from the clustered camps. Our tents are all private and can accomodate families as well. They are raised off the ground to ensure good insulation. Linens, pillows and blankets are included. We also offer hot showers thanks to our solar panels. All the confort to make you enjoy your stay in a quiet, relaxing setting. Buffet dinner and breakfast are included, and will be set in our large entertainment tent , where you can sit by the fire and enjoy some bedouin music. Our bedouin guides can take you on jeep tours to discover the main sites of Wadi Rum, ending with beautiful sunset views for unforgettable memories. Jordan tracks did a great job in planning our trip. Initially when I wrote an email about accommodation, trips and transport, I received very detailed response from Saleem with plan for the visit and clear breakdown of the costs. Very professional approach. The camp itself was very good, clean and with friendly staff, evening playing music and talking to people explaining about bedouin lifestyle. Night in the tents was cold but warm blankets helped a lot. This time of the year is really cold in Wadi Rum at night but the night sky is worth it. Next day we had a day jeep tour with our guide Badr. Very nice and friendly! I would very much recommend this to anyone interested to visit Wadi Rum!

My husband and I spent two days/nights at Wadi Rum in the beginning of January with Jordan Tracks. They took good care of us from the beginning till the very end of our stay: a jeep tour of the most emblematic sites of the desert (we were seven persons in two jeeps), a hiking in 'djebels' from were we observed breathtaking landscapes, a tasty and healthy lunch prepared by our guide on an open fire in the middle of the desert, delicious traditional evening meals in a spacious Bedouin tent, and the most beautiful (clean and comfortable!) Bedouin camp sheltered by impressive djebels.
The second night of our stay was the most memorable when all of our fellow tourists left after having completed their programmes, and we found ourselves alone in the camp accompanied only by the cook who prepared for two of us a tasty dinner and a breakfast the next morning. It was really cold that night but the cook gave us some extra blankets so we happily spent the night in the middle of the desert under shimmering stars.
That was a lifetime experience thanks to Jordan Tracks, their lovely guides, all the other friendly staff, and Saleem who is a super host! We'd love to come back!
We highly recommend booking with Jordan Tracks.

My husband and I have just finished The Bedouin Trail 1 which is a 9 day programme with 6 days riding, a day in Petra and a day in Madaba. We communicated with Saleem over email prior to the trip, and he was prompt and detailed with his replies, which helped us immensely with our packing.

There were five of us in the riding group, and we were matched perfectly with our mounts according to personality and riding experience. It was uncanny how the staff knew exactly which horse suited whom just by meeting us for a few minutes. Everyone was happy with the horse they had been given. The horses are well treated, well trained and easy to handle, making for a very enjoyable riding experience.

Due to the cold weather the programme was changed slightly for us so that we ended up having two nights bivvying and three nights at the fixed camp. Each has pros and cons. The bivvy has amazing scenery and the ambience around the camp fire is great, but you have to go to the loo in the wild (behind a rock) and have to make do with a bucket of water for your washing needs. The fixed camp has better facilities (large cabin with beds, mattresses and pillows; proper showers and loos) but you don’t get the experience of being remote and alone in the middle of pure nature. I was happy that I got to experience both and was satisfied with the 2/3 night split between bivvy and fixed camp.

Riding through the desert is an experience I will never forget. The riding is quite easy in the sense that you are riding in a wide open area with plenty of room to spread out, and the surface is nice and soft underfoot with no rocks, trees, and other obstacles that you have to navigate. Compared to the other trail rides we’ve done (mountain cliffs, rocky paths, steep inclines, trees, thorns, cars, etc.), this one was very relaxing.

The food is delicious and varied, and centred around the local cuisine. Every mealtime was exciting and we couldn’t help eating way too much! Even picky eaters found plenty to like.

Salem, our riding guide, is the most relaxed and jovial man I have ever met. He does not interfere with your riding or correct you unless you are doing something to harm your horse, and allows you to go at your own pace and enjoy the experience. Our group was fairly spread out and there was no pressure to keep in a tight pack or in a certain order. He would point out things along the way and answer questions about Wadi Rum and its people, so it was educational too. I also loved my fellow riders in our small group - everyone was kind and cooperative, helping one other when needed, and there were lots of joking, chatting and general camaraderie.

Jordan Tracks is a well managed and experienced company that focuses on the satisfaction of its customers. I would choose Jordan Tracks again if I returned to Jordan.

Dear Eliza, Thank you so much for your great review of our week-long horse-riding excursion! Our stables have been in the family since our grand-father and we take great pride and joy in taking care of our Arabian horses. We have been offering rides in Wadi Rum since 2005 and there is no better reward for us than reading comments like yours about our trails. Quite heart-warming and ever so encouraging in continuing to give our riders to best of desert riding! Many thanks again for your kind review and we wish you and your loved one a very happy new year!

My husband and I did 2 nights with Jordan Tracks in March 2022 and the experience was fantastic. Our accommodations were very comfortable and warm after a day hiking and exploring the desert. Some of the main sights felt a little crowded and our guide went out of his way to make sure we got the best spot, he let us take our time hiking and soaking in the wonderful Wadi Rum.

The food was the best we had in Jordan - I would have sold my soul for our guide’s recipes! Outstanding meals, we never went hungry and a pot of tea was always available.

Communication was great, Saleem arranged for our car ride to and from Wadi Rum. Saleem went out of his way to accommodate our changing schedule and even gave us ideas on where to stop on our way back to Amman. Everything is well organized and it is obvious from the well maintained trucks and animals that there is a lot of pride and hard work in this company.

We felt like we really experienced the true Wadi Rum and we can’t wait to go back!

This horse riding trek in Jordan is just unforgettable. The communication with Saleem was quick and simple which was very reassuring when traveling during a pandemic. The whole team is very joyful and friendly, they all make sure you have fun discovering their magical land. Thank you Jordan Tracks and thanks to my beautiful horse Amer, I hope to be able to come back soon!

We spent a full day and night with Jordan Tracks. We left early in the morning with a Jeep and we visited the desert until sunset. During the day we also had a lovely lunch in the desert, prepared on spot by our guide.

The desert is beautiful and a unique experience. The camp is great also, we had a nice cooked dinner, warm showers and a lovely campfire with traditional music. The tent is ok, having lights and a double bed. The view when you wake up in the morning and open the tent door is just breathtaking. We wished we never left.

Please note there are no electrical outlets in the tent and no phone signal or wifi anywhere. If you have friends or family who would worry about your digital absence for one day and one night, you should inform them about this before you leave with the jeep from the village.

A big minus point for the guide and the guy from the camp who could barely speak english. The experience would have been 10 times more amazing if they could tell you some stories and more details about the desert and everything.

Booking this horse-back riding tour was probably the best decision I took during my whole stay in Jordan. Organising the trip was very easy as the communication with Saleem was quick and simple. The whole team is very friendly and welcoming and we had lots of fun during the day, cantering through the desert and discovering its various colours and faces, as well as in the evenings, sitting together with a glass of tea and watching the campfire.
Most of the nights we stayed in the base camp which is equipped with clean sanitary facilites and electricity to charge your camera/phone, but we also stayed a night in the middle of the desert in a bivouac which was a truly magical experience. The night sky in wadi rum is magnificent.
The cook is great, we were always provided with a copious amount of delicious food. Thank you to all the Jordan Tracks Team, you were all wonderful hosts and I hope to be able to come back one day.

Wadi rum is a beautiful and a must experience place and Jordan Tracks made the experience more beautiful. Rhe tour is done at normal pace giving you enough time to explore places. The included food is very good given that it's a desert and the tent accommodation is comfortable too.

We went on an amazing two-day horse trip with Jordan Tracks. All aspects of the trip were very well organized and smooth. Communication before the trip was very clear and easy. Rum is already a must-see in Jordan, but the experience of seeing it on horse back is absolutely magical. The horses were sweet and well trained, very energetic and fast but also responsive. Salem was an excellent guide throughout our trek. We stayed at the Jordan Tracks camp, which is very comfortable, even when it is windy and the temperature drops during the coldest months. The camp even has hot showers! Finally, the food was very good. I highly recommend Jordan Tracks for those who want to visit Wadi Rum, especially on horse back.

Travelling with 2 very young kids (3 and 2 years old), we didn't really know what to expect from a stay in the desert. It turned out that we had a fantastic time thanks to Saleem and his team and we came back full of memories. It was Ramadan so our driver was a bit tired, but he took us to the best spots of Wadi Rum and took care of us very well. The camp is nice and clean, and the staff friendly.

Contact Jordan Tracks and Saleemi will help you. Or stay at Mariam Hotel in Madaba and they have drivers and can collect you from airport and take you to Wadi Rum or Petra. You can get a non smoking driver if you ask

Check with Jordan Tracks - they are great at answering questions quickly. If you are arriving late, you could always book the camp alone for the first night, and a tour the following day. Or, for just a little more money, you could book a private tour, as my husband and I did, and not have to worry so much about when you arrive. One bonus of the private tour is it can be geared specifically to you. We booked for the two day camel tour, but ended up changing our second day to a jeep tour, as my husband was getting sore from riding the camel. They were very flexible with us, and we had a great time. Highly recommend them!
