After our stay in 2011 with Horas Family Home, we decided that we would definitely go back to this place. The owner Berend Bakker welcomed us with open arms. We stayed in Horas Indah for the first view days, because Horas Family Home was not available to us directly. Horas Indah is smaller but still large enough for my family.... More

This is a lovely little hotel on the island. The rooms are meant for families and as it was just me and my husband we had ample space. It is clean and you can literally jump into the lake at the back of the hotel. Service is also very good. The owner is very friendly and he popped in to... More

We booked the Horas Family Home as we need flexible bed space during the week were there fluctuating from 4-8 people. After staying here I felt totally relaxed and refreshed and was one of the best holidays I have had. There was plenty to do for the children from feeding the animal to canoeing and jet skiing. For a big... More

This is a beautiful place to visit and get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Our group included two grandparents, and two families with five kids between 6-8 years old, and we all loved it. The property facing the garden and lake had two bedroom areas that could hold 4 people in each room, and a smaller... More

My husband and I visited Horas family home in Dec 2015. Enjoy the stay very much. We booked the Family Home which got the best view to the lake. The villa could accommodate up to 8 people. The room and bathroom are clean. The kitchen is well equipped. We tried their grilled fish for dinner and the taste is superb.... More

We stayed here as a group of friends over Easter weekend. Lake Toba is a beautiful place and I would thoroughly recommend a visit and a stay here. The owners are very helpful, prompt to respond to any requests and all the staff are friendly. I would strongly encourage you to have their Indonesian breakfast and also the special dinner.... More

We stayed here for three nights last month. Very clean rooms, great food and great location. The owners and staff are very helpful and will help you with almost any request. Highly recommend the "special dinner" down by the water.

This is my 2nd time here at Horas Family Home. This time round it's just me and my wife. Hospitality at Horas is wonderful. The staff will always be around for help if there is any needed. This time round we basically didn't do much but just laze around the compound for a good 5 days. We cooked our own... More

The family house was comfortable for five girls and the grounds were beautiful. There is only one bathroom, which was fine for the five of us, but could be inconvenient for a different travel group. We could freely use herbs from the beautifully maintained garden to add to our cooking. We both ate the guesthouse food (very tasty) and sometimes... More
