Air con failed in both room we checked in. Staff were friendly. Can get better hotel in vung tau. Avoid asking taxi driver to bring you to eat. All the taxi driver will bring you to this restaurant. Trust me the most expensive seafood you can ever find in the world and the food sucks.

We booked this hotel as needed a place to stay in Vang Tau and did not know much about it. We were delighted with it. It was not overstated and suited us. Near the town centre - 100 yards from sea front - in quiet part of town

We didn't have long in Phu My as our ship was departing early afternoon. We decided to have lunch at the Rex hotel in the roof top bar again as we'd been there last year. Tee service was excellent, the food was delicious and the beer was cold!. The hotel itself is worth a look. It's typical of the French... More

Room was comfortable but very very old and tired - had a balcony overlooking pool - which was ok but needs more shady areas . Staff at pool was ok. Breakfast was ok with enough variety for our taste. Realised construction was happening but didn't bother us too much. Handy to walk to other eating places. Got what we paid... More

This hotel no longer has anything it advertises except the pool which is definitely not in a garden setting and quite small. Construction is underway to add more rooms in a higher complex, so they basically took the garden out. The sauna and steam room aren't functioning. No massage is available unless you want it in your room. The breakfast... More

Average is the exact word. The hotel look old and the promised city view turned into a cell. Thanks God the swimming pool is nice (careful with Kids rush after 4pm) and really facing the sea. Over priced....

Stayed at the Rex early March and can't complain. We had a room on one of the higher floors and for AUD 60 it was quite a good deal. Sure there is going on as part of the hotel but it was not a worry at all. Who spends all day in their room. Apparently when the new part is... More

Good but not great and might expect a bit better for the money you pay although appear willing to negotiate the rate especially at the moment as they are doing substantial additions being a whole new high rise wing adjoining the existing building. The impact and noise from this project depends on what works are proposed that day. Appear to... More

My group didn't expect a great deal from you hotel. However, your management made a difference and surprised my 2 friends having the same birthday on the 23th January 2016. They received a bottle of Red Wine each upon return to Hotel after a short tour,. Thank you once again on behalf of my friends...

The Rex Hotel is near quite a bit of activity in Vung Tau-ferry, restaurants, bars, cable cars, etc. Rooms are dated, but generally clean & functional (hot water, AC, black out curtains, TV with English channels, wifi, etc) Service is satisfactory. I'd suggest passing on the breakfast buffet. There are so many other great & cheap options nearby. The pool... More
