The hotel is ok And room was clean . The hotel is running by family. The staffs were helpful and friendly. They also arranged the trip for us . Ninh Binh is good place for visiting. Xuan HOA 2 was better than xuan hoa 1.
The hotel is a little out of the way. I strese a little because it is still within walking distance of all the best restaurants in Ninh Binh. The staff were brilliant. We had arrived too laye to book any of the tours for the following day for tam coc or ho lua etc and one of the owners drove us themselves. They suggested a few changes to our plans which led to one of the best days we have had in the country. The breakfast was served quickly. But I can confirm the other comments about the kids. They were more inquisitive than annoying. Having said this I do come from a big family so am used to it. The rooms are a bit dated but bed was comfy enough. Showers were basic but we didn't have any issues with the hot water as described. Also, awesome setup in the street for the world cup.…
There is no getting away from it: the actual food served in the restaurant here is excellent. It was hot and fresh. We had chicken stir fry with lemongrass, beef stir fry with veg, and fried spring rolls. However, if, in addition, you like: to wait an hour for the food to be served, even though you were the only diners there when ordering; to have to serve yourself with the beers ordered a half hour before; to have screaming children careering round the tables in a car; slow and desultory service; and not even a 'thank you' after paying the bill; then this place is for you. Otherwise, avoid.
It was my second visit to Ninh Binh and to Xuan’s excellent place. The rooms overlooking the little lake are still great value and the food is real good. Actually last time, Xuan had told me he organized a three days two nights tour in Pu Luong Nature Reserve and I came back Xuan proved to be a wonderful guide and he made us discover that authentic region of spectacular natural beauty. The three of us felt so happy and so lucky to be with this knowledgeable sweet man , always ready to make our experience unforgettable:very comfy and roomy car, excellent food.We stayed at two local and simple home stays in far away villages, inhabited by minority groups among the glorious rice terraces cascading down hillsides.Xuan was the perfect guide, showing us the best places to see and as much local life as he could. A wonderful fascinating experience which I recommend very warmly .…
For the money you're paying and the fact that this is billed as a "hotel," you'd think the place would be much nicer. It's not that clean, not a great location (right in front of a big ol pool of mosquito water), the staff is unfriendly (see reviews for the second hotel of the same name), and the clincher for me is the hot water situation. If you want hot water, you have to leave your room and tell someone downstairs. Then they flip a switch for your room and then you wait thirty minutes for the hot water to work. So if you want to take a shower, you basically have to give the staff a thirty minute advance notice. And even then it seemed like the hot water was a bit in and out. Stayed for one night and found a better guesthouse for cheaper nearby.
