The service is very bad, no one speaks English. It took them forever to figure out what we had booked. They also tried to charge us $7 for breakfast even though the booking said it was included. The rooms are very hot, the AC barely works. We had ants in our beds. Don't stay there!

We spent several nights in the dormitory at this hotel because it was a holiday and the whole island was sold out. Although the area on the 6th floor is really nice for hanging out, the staff is terrible. They speak little to no English. We were there on a Vietnamese holiday where most hotels and hostels were completely booked....

Stayed here for a few nights. Staff speaks relatively no English and do not care to help with anything. Showers were cold and the dorm is really just whatever. For a dollar more you literally get your own room in other places around town. Granted I was there during raining season, but still it's just not worth it. There are...

Poor customer relations: On arrival at the hotel the manager took a look at our Hostelbookers booking confirmation and just shook her head and gestured for us to leave. After refusing to leave without an explanation, an English speaking employee informed us that the hotel had ended their relationship with Hostelbookers and all rooms were full. I found this a...

The staff are obnoxious with little regard for anyone but themselves. After a slow journey from Hanoi by bus and boat to Cat Ba all we wanted was a shower and a rest. Knowing the island would be busy for the public holiday we booked a couple of days early and secured our LePont Hotel booking on HostelBookers.com. When we...

A friend and I got a twin room for $5 each a night. We got a clean room, towels, fridge and a hot shower for that price which I thought was pretty reasonable. The woman at the front desk cannot speak a word of English so don't expect any info from her but she was perfectly nice to us. Not...

We saw the recommendations for Le Pont and needing a cheap night in Cat Ba, we chose it because people had recommended their tours of Ha Long Bay. We arrived after booking via email and the lady at the desk didn't speak English so didn't understand we had a reservation. No problem, we got there eventually. We asked about a...

I stayed at Le Pont hotel for 3 nights during my stay on Cat Ba Island. The hotel is very well located. The front desk person during the day speaks English, and at night there is always a lady there (Vietnamese speaker), but she is always willing to call the person who speaks English if you have an issue. The...

My Fiance and I stayed in Le Pont for three nights in September, 2013. We stayed in a private room ($11/night), which was large with clean towels. The first room we went to had a problem with the airconditioning unit, but we got switched to a new room to get the problem sorted out. It is true that the women...

I visited Ca Ba Island the first time last fall. A storm made it impossible to go outside to grab dinner. The friendly and helpful stuff made noodles and vegetables for the guests and helped out in the period without electricity. I stayed in the 14 bed dorm, which was occupied by me and 3 other people, so we had...
