We stayed here during our trip from Chiang Rai to Phetchabun, and the service and attention to detail was wonderful.

The staff were helpful and knowledgeable, they were even able to provide a map for the historical park and how best to explore it all!

They even have a souvenir shop next to their restaurant that contains some great items that we had the pleasure of purchasing!

Would have loved to stay another night if we had longer, but will definitely be coming back to visit.

Cosy, cute and clean hotel. A unique experience in itself that I would love to repeat!

They went above and beyond to help us and make sure we were comfortable and happy.

The best hotel I have stayed in. You won’t regret staying there!

AC, warm shower, clean pool, comfy bed and pillows, good breakfast, nice gift shop, great staff, clean rooms.

The hotel is kind of nice with traditional architecture and the swimming pool in central position. However in being in wood some modern appliances do not work. We had to chance room twice because our air conditioning was not working, kibd of annoying.

A wonderful hotel, beautiful and well managed. The central swimming pool is amazing. Thank you to the whole staff who helped us with our stick baby. We appreciated your kindness and gentle gifts. We hope to come back as soon as possible.

I stayed in this hotel from 1th to 5th February 2012.

2nd February I brought an envelope with amex cheques, cash and my passport to the reception desk and asked them to put it to a safe box.

3nd I came and asked for the envelope to take my passport to rent a motorbike. They brought the envelope to me. I did not leave the reception desk. I took the passport just in front of them and returned the envelope back to them.

5 th. I checked out in the morning and asked for my envelope. They answered that they did not have it as I already had taken it and they did not remember the moment I returned them the envelope after taking my passport from it. That is next to impossible because I clearly remember that I returned it back. I asked them to check a camera at the reception, but they answered they did not have cameras in the hotel. I also asked them to check everywhere and moved to Chiang Mai.

The same day I called AMEX support and asked them to block the cheques numbers. They also asked me to go to a police station and get a police report.

6 th. I went to a police station wrote the full story and they provided me a report.

8 th. I went to the police station to check progress about the investigation. No luck. A guy from the police station said if they wanted to steal money it's hard to prove.
I called back to Sukhotai hotel to wonder maybe they have found the envelope, but the answer was no again. This time the owner suggested me to lie that I lost my travel cheques in Chiang Mai not in Sukhotai. Nice.

By the way, it's a nice hotel, but keep all your valuable belongings far away from the reception desk.

P.S. This is an updated review. I attached the police report in my previous post, but it did not appear. Hope this time it will work.

According to the most recent LP the service is "both friendly and flawless"... We probably stayed in another hotel.

The pool looks good bit if you are looking for towels, you have to pay for them. There goes the luxerious feeling.
According to the site there is WiFi everywhere, forget it, even if you are next to the router you can wait. Ah, you want fast internet? You have to pay for it.
Breakfast is 90% Thai-Style and there are several guests are flying as circling vultures around one(!) toastingmachine. Both annoying and deeply sad as well...

The rooms are moderate and the bathroom is from some decades ago. The airco is working silently and cools great.

The restaurant is closed between 14.00h and 17.00h don't think you can get anything....

This Hotel is not outranking a B&B, probably there you can find service thinking staff.

My partner and I stayed in Ruen Thai for 1 night on our way from Chaing Mai to Bangkok. The hotel staff were fantastic, they went out of their way to help us by driving us into the town centre (about 2 kms) and to the bus stop etc. The rooms were clean and spacious and had a spanish feel (as did the grounds). We would definitely recommend to stay there if going to Sukothai.

We were in Thailand and were taking a side trip to Sukothai...I did an internet search and found the property. As unsure of our plans, I took the phone number down. Plans finalized, I called directly to the property and booked 3 days, two nights. We arrived by hired car and were immediately taken back by the charm of Thai style village, though the spouse commented there better be A/C, as there was no outward appearances of A/C. Checking in was simplistic and friendly, the first exposure to the type of service we were to receive throughout or stay.
The property resembled a earlier period Thai village. Rooms are constructed with this in mind, sharing many attributes and collectables that one would have seen at the turn of the centuary in housing of the well to do. Expect to see door and window locks taken from and earlier time. This style was successuflly merged with beautifully finished bathroom, fully stone walls and floors and raised bowl sinks. All floors were stone throughout the room. A/C was present and worked well.
The charm of this retreat was further enhanced by the staff, who made the stay very enjoyable. You knew the attitudes reflected those Thai attitudes one would have found in an earlier time, before the wholescale internationalisation. The owners and staff have made this property a truly oasis where one can relax and enjoy the company of the Thai people while appreciating a step back in time through stlyling and carefully selected collectibles displayed throughout the property. I might add that there is one great pool that demands lounging, tropical drinks and more quiet time. If this is little known now, the word will spread fast. Put this on your list and enjoy it, unspoiled.

Lovely, small and cosy family-run hotel. Former guest house, but hotel part newly built. Friendly and helpful English speaking staff. Clean and spacious rooms. Nice and clean bathoom.
Good swimming pool. Breakfast okay. Food at restaurant fine. Located about 1 km from city centre. Walking no problem, however shops are closed after 6-7.00 pm.
Definitely will go back, when visiting Sukhothai.
You can contact them directly through their own website. Answer came quick and clear.
Have a nice stay.

I just stayed in this hotel last week for my 4th July holiday even though I was not in the US but this place had made my day completely perfect. The architecture and Thai old classy collections around the hotel make this hotel very unique and special. You will receive the warm and friendly welcome from their staff and owner with a big smile on their face. The food at their restaurant is totally unbelievable and healthy. The room is not too special but the environment of the hotel is very Eco-friendly and relaxed. There are birds, rabbits, frogs, and other kind of animals which will make you feel more in touch with the nature and impressed by their management.
