We elected to stay at this property with a view to visiting historical parks in the Sukhothai area. The property was not that easy to find as the GPS placed at the entrance of what seemed to be a private area. We then went past another hotel before getting to a gate which was promptly opened by security. Our room was on the first floor with a nice view over the entrance area and a beautiful pool. I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and local style of the hotel. Our room had a nice balcony although it was not particularly clean. I appreciate that there are many birds but I think that would just mean that the cleaning staff needs to work a bit more thoroughly to keep the outside area clean. The bed was comfortable, internet connection reasonably reliable although not super fast. The bathroom featured a large shower, water pressure was good and temperature stable. We had dinner twice in the hotel restaurant and the food was quite good although the menu is not very extensive. The same applies to the breakfast buffet which was placed outside. When booking this hotel, keep in mind that you are 45 minutes to 1 hour away from the historical parks. A car is therefore absolutely needed.…
We arrive at the most beautiful airport I have ever been in. The Sukhothai Airport is a boutique airport. It's runways are lined with hedges of blooming bougainvillea and flower beds in-between. I have never seen anything like this. We are staying at the Sukhothai Heritage Resort. My friend, who is very discerning, recommended this hotel. I usually pick a hotel in the center of town. This one is close to the airport. Did I make the right decision? Yes, I did Our rooms were the largest so far of all the hotels we’ve stayed in. Our balcony over looks the garden and one of the swimming pools. It is a hotel that handles many tour groups. We came between the tours. We have the hotel almost all to ourselves. Very relaxing and great service. The meals were very flavorful. The manager helped to arrange our tour of the Historical Park. Our choices are: we can rent a bike and ride into town and around the park. He would arrange for a driver for us. This was our choice. He drives us to The Historical Park. There are 22 Wats here. Our driver gets a map for us and we purchase our tickets. He guides us to the entrance. As we walk on our way, I look back and he is still standing there pointing and waving. We spend hours here. Then our driver drove us to many, many wats, the museum, and took us to a delightful restaurant. There was very little we did not see. When we return to the hotel, we see the manager. We collapsed with exhaustion into the chairs. We told him how happy we were with our driver we saw more than we anticipated. We must say the entire staff did everything to make our time enjoyable. We had extra time the next morning, the hotel arranged for us to get a wonderful Thai massage. It was a great way to relax as we continue our trip. Here we got a lesson on a Thai expression, mai pen rai, no problem. My new motto.…
Arrived at mid day to an unusually quiet Bangkok. Khun P at front desk checked me in . He deserves commendation for his impeccable turn out, manners and excellent service . I was upgraded to the newly renovated room , it’s great !
Our family has now twice stayed here provided through Gate 1 Travel. Each time in early November 2018 & 2019. This resort is clean, rooms are spacious with beautiful decor, staff is friendly, helpful, though most speak little English (exception is the outside bar). My family loved the room patio leading to swimming the pool on the lower floor. The resort grounds are kept immaculate and beautiful displaying pride of Thai cultural. Only drawback is the location, far from town, restaurants, shopping, etc. Resort restaurant food variety, breakfast&dinner was limited but the food was good/average (was better in Nov. 2018?). We enjoyed our stay here and would visit again but prefer to locate closer to town in the future.
We stayed at this resort part of our Gate 1 tour , we received a warm welcome. It is located in the ancient capital of Sukhothai. It is remote however , you can’t walk to a restaurant, but they have a nice one at the hotel . What I enjoyed about this resort, was the Thai architecture, the gardens, the ponds and the 2 heated pools. However do bring insect repellent, it does have mosquitoes as you are wanting to have a few drinks around the outdoor bar..they have bug zappers as well.
