We only stayed one night. The staff were nice and followed up quickly on any requests. The road to this hotel and the entrance were grand. The superior rooms less so. They were spacious but dated. Saying that they were comfortable and the shower was fine and you got typical complimentary toiletries. The pool was magnificent. I swam in it pretty much alone. The breakfast was good on the coffee, fruit and salad side. It was fine for me. I would have liked to see more Thai food e.g sweet and sour vegetables or green curry. There were a couple of annoyances. 1) Take the kettle out of the room if you are not providing complimentary tea and coffee. Most hotels do provide this. 2) With such a fantastic pool area why were there only 6 sunbeds? I would stay again just for the pool!

When I booked this it was as the "Amarin Lagoon Hotel" but prior to arrival we were advised of the name change which should make no difference to the booking. I would guess that this is not just a name change but a complete purchase and revamp based on the amount of building work being carried out and the smell of fresh paint. All of the public areas looked brand new and quite smart. The rooms we wee allocated were pretty much as they were under the old name and had not been updated. That being said there was nothing wrong with the rooms and they were quite comfortable with good facilities. The bathroom was of an older style but still very functional. The new restaurant served good food and we were given a 10% discount on both food and drink, I don't know if this is an opening offer or a resident discount. Breakfast was offered with a 50% discount. The full buffet was not offered but hot dishes were cooked to order. This did appear to be an opening offer. Overall a fair place for a stop on the way back.

Drove up and down looking for the hotel on Google maps only to end up at the entrance of the "Imperial Hotel". Well thats the name on the front entrance. It appears they have changed their name lol. Staff made out like they didn't know what we were talking about haha. Very large complex and must of been grand in it's day but the Thai style renovation (amazing entrance and a lick of paint) wont fool anyone. Once you get past the main foyer the rooms are tidy and clean but very tired. Beds very hard, old bathrooms. Main pool next to the hotel we were told was being built (looked like the old pool but was green) but there was a pool about 300m walk from the hotel. Another visitor told me it was like a Russian ghost hotel and I kind of got what he meant. Can't complain too much. Was very cheap. Staff were friendly, breakfast adequate and not too bad but I wouldn't be paying more than budget prices.

We found this hotel by chance, we didn’t have high hopes due to the very reasonable price, we arrived a little early, but the staff were happy to check us in for our 2 night stay. The lobby and restaurant look like they’ve had a makeover, guessing they haven’t got as far as the rooms yet though, having said that the room was clean and acceptable. We ate in the restaurant a couple of times, the food was ok but the drinks are a little pricey by Thai standards. Breakfast was average, however if they insist on cooking eggs in advance it would be advisable to keep them warm, cold fried eggs aren’t very palatable. There is plenty of parking if you drive here. Unfortunately the main pool was out of action as undergoing maintenance and the alternative has green water, but we only stayed 2 nights so it wasn’t a huge problem. The hotel appears to be used frequently for. Group tours and school children who arrive on coaches.

Admittedly, from a distance and as you arrive, the hotel looks past its best. But once inside, the lobby area is newly renovated, the bar and restaurant areas as well. The 4th floor still smells slightly of recently being painted. This floor is where you need to stay (but they will probably give you a room there anyway). The restaurant is huge; as it was raining heavily outside, we chose to dine there. We saw only two other tables occupied;' food was actually good. They serve Chang and Heineken beer. Breakfasts outside of the big cities in Thailand typically do not cater for the Western taste, but the breakfast buffet was not bad. Yogurt, corn flakes, bread, marmalade, sausage, fried egg, potatoes, and of course typical Thai dishes. Orange juice the "fake" juice that has little to do with squeezed oranges in a glass. Coffee was "airline coffee" and a sip or two was enough for me. At least it was not Nescafe but coffee from a multi-choice coffee machines.
