Indeed the enormous hospitality of Nui, Gerard and Nom is not exaggerated. Any question/thing needed was taken care of, even organizing our laundry. The best part is that both Nui and Gerard can show/advise to do all the top ten things to do in the area, but then not in mass-tourism style. So we went on the Bay with a local tour guide in his small longtail boat and experienced a lot more (and better) parts of the bay where the big boats won’t bring you. Shopping with Nui for dinner on the market is great if you want to discover true local Thai food and how the Thai treat their food. On a scooter through the village along small roads which Gerard advised, which we would not have discovered ourselves. When we did not have dinner at Menora Garden, Gerard and Nui took us to the nicer and better small local restaurants in town. Gerard and Nui take care for smaller kids also, toys are present and as surprise prepared french fries for dinner and pancakes for breakfast. Our daughter was excited!! Also, Gerard can wonderfully tell you about life in Thailand, the culture and habits; and why the rubber trees are already quickly being replaced by palm trees... …
Manora Gardens is a delightful B&B with lovely, kind, helpful and knowledgeable hosts Gerard and Nui. The setting is tranquil in the forest with flowers, herb garden, fruit trees, the twittering of different birds and sounds of tree frogs. Sa Nang waterfall and Phangna Bay are nearby. The simple food is fresh and healthy. Gerard organised a full day long tail boat tour of the islands, mangroves, hongs, sea caves, fishing village and James Bond island which was fabulous. The Phangna town park is beautiful.
Very nice bungalow in a great rural setting; an untouristy Thai district town nearby. The Phangnga Bay, the usual regional hightlight, doesn't require much traveling to the pier. Dedicated, knowledgeable and extremedly caring hosts.
We had a wonderful couple of nights at Manora Gardens. The bungalow was fabulous, with a beautiful seating area outside. The gardens we're peaceful and lovely. Our hosts, Gerard and Nui, we're wonderful, gracious, helpful and welcoming. They drove us into town one evening to eat, and treated us to Nui's delicious cooking the following evening. They also took us to the Loy Krathong festival in the nearby village. The nearby waterfall and Forest Park is definitely worth a visit. But get there before or after the crowds. At 9am we had the park to ourselves
We just enjoyed a perfect two night stay at Menora Gardens. The owners are incredibly helpful and go out of their way to assist. We took up the opportunity to learn to cook Thai food with Nui and enjoyed socialising with the other guests over some wine. The accomodation is perfectly clean and the location is literally in the middle of the national park. We were also allowed an early check-in at no extra cost. This place is highly recommended.
