We just arrived without a booking and stopped here as it was right on the river and had parking which seemed quite hard to come by. The receptionist said she had rooms with fan 200 baht A/C 400. I asked to see the best room she had available as I wasn't on a budget and wanted a view of the... More

I doubt that I will stay at this guesthouse again. It's an impressive wooden structure with hidden flaws. It's situated next to the dry goods market on the short tourist strip alongside the river. No one greeted me when I arrived and there was no one on reception. Eventually, the receptionist was located and much time was spent searching through... More

We visited the Riverside's restaurant for a late afternoon lunch. There were four of us and we all had a big appetite after walking around town for a couple of hours. The restaurant offers a wide range of Asian and western cuisines and alcoholic and soft drinks. The outstanding view across the River Mekong to Laos was a fantastic backdrop... More

I stayed in a couple rather dark places. The rooms are barely adequate but it's right close by some of the best restaurants and night life in Nong Khai. The rooms were clean and reasonably priced, so there was that.

Great location but that's where it all fell down. Rooms were 200B more expensive than advertised outside the front door. Rooms where very small and smelt mouldy and the bed was very hard with little lining between the springs and the top. Very uncomfortable night's sleep. Bathroom was .OK. Had a good shower after a sweaty day at the markets.... More

We chose this hotel because of its location right on the Mekong. From this point of view you couldn't ask for better. We stayed on a Saturday night and the riverfront was alive with markets, music and performances. It was certainly a great time to be in Nong Khai. The hotel itself is ok. We had a room at the... This place looks great from the outside....old Thai style wooden building....but get into the rooms and you will be very disappointed. The rooms smell bad. The bathroom area is full of mould and ours had ants running all over the place. The airconditioner had no remote control and must have been set at "warm" so the rooms never got cool.... More

This hotel is in a beautiful old timber building right on the Mekong and next to the Tha Sadet markets. The room was ok - clean and comfortable. Reception was slow and disorganised and not particularly welcoming. The restaurant overlooks the Mekong and is a great spot to spend time in the evening.

We thought we had found a gem, an old wooden guest house on the bank of the Mekong in a great location. We should have realised something was wrong when we found the staff so unfriendly. Not smiling, not welcoming - the promised 600 Baht rooms were suddenly 800 Baht etc. The rooms have a sort of tatty, run-down, rustic... More

This hotel represents itself as a hotel and charges hotel rates. These set of rooms are clearly guesthouse status (and they have signs to indicate this). The room itself, is very small and dirty, air conditioning not in good working order (kept room on the warmer side), sink was leaking, closet was tied with a string to hold it closed,... More
