Some lovely pluses such as: The beautiful views from the hotel and restaurant Great upkeep of the gardens Friendly, English speaking staff Free shuttle to and from the ferry and into town on some days However, the Covid situation seems to have taken a toll in a few ways: - The pool was pretty dirty/full of debris and a bit neglected. -Breakfast was very average and a very small selection for vegetarians. One day there was cold beans and greasy puff pastry squares (some supposedly croissants) with no jam. Horrible cold filter coffee, although you can request other drinks but staff don’t make that obvious. -I had a male worker buzz into my room when I was in there alone, despite having the ‘do not disturb’ sign on. Not sure what he was coming to do or would’ve done had I not been there. Would look at staying somewhere else if I came back.

Restaurant in a nice setting right on the beach. The fish barbecue and the prawn dish from there were delicious. Professional staff- again from Myanmar.   We went up the small hill behind the restaurant and were glad we did, the viewpoint was beautiful. The place offered bungalows, too.

I stayed here solo at the end our 5 week honeymoon in Asia (my husband had to leave a little early for work) for 4 nights and it was AMAZING! We had been dreaming of one of the pool villas but the Deluxe Sea View cottage was lovely as well. Beautiful huts with great decorations and breathtaking views of the ocean. Comfy bed and robes and all the amenities you could need. The grounds are expansive and gorgeous and the outside dining area and ocean side pool has lots of room and stunning views out to the ocean. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the food was delicious - expensive but worth it. Since it is built on a cliff, there are lots of stairs but that makes the pool side lounging all the more worth it. Thank you for the wonderful stay. I dream of returning one day!

Firstly let me start by saying the journey to Koh Tao view catamaran is anything but relaxing, but on arrival, we were quickly whisked away to the resort. Check-in was a breeze and we were shown to our Garden View Bungalow which had a partial view of the sea hidden behind some trees. The bungalows are a little on the small side and could do with more storage, however, the air-con works well and there is everything you could possibly need or want. I appreciate the mosquito coils which came in very useful and also the private patio area where you can relax and see squirrels and birds amongst the trees. It is evident that great planning and detail has gone into the lush vegetation present everywhere which really contributes to a tranquil and relaxing environment, especially on the cliff behind the pool which contains several ledges of brightly coloured plants and flowers. Speaking of the pool, I have been fortunate to have stayed in many resorts and the infinity pool at Viewpoint is truly one of the best I have experienced in terms of design and location. Being able to relax in the pool offering views over Chalok bay and Buddha Rock while watching schools of parrotfish and hearing the waves crash meters below is truly a unique experience. Service around the pool is prompt and friendly, as is the case all over the resort. The staff are nothing short of exceptional and very friendly and service-oriented especially at breakfast which is offered at their main restaurant featuring spectacular sea views. The food options change daily and the offerings contain a mixture of local and Western dishes, as well as fresh juice and a range of coffee/tea. We also had lunch and dinner at the restaurant and were very impressed with not only the quality of the food but found the prices very reasonable for a luxury resort. The resort is also perfectly situated at the end of Chalok Bay which means there is a great deal of privacy. However, it is an easy walk to a huge variety of restaurants and bars in Chalok bay. We enjoyed going for lunch and spending the morning at Koppe just 10 minutes from the resort and going for dinner at Yin Yangs which had some of the best and authentic food on the island. We also found 'Buddha Bar' which had great mojitos and a very friendly barman who makes the best strawberry mojitos on the island! Viewpoint also has a beach with easy access and offers decent snorkelling, you will see schools of fish including damsels, rabbitfish and even groupers just a short swim from the resort beach. We did charter a private longtail boat to discover the other snorkelling spots around the island and found the best locations to be the Japanese Gardens and the wreck near the pier; make sure to get out and explore the mesmerising underwater world of Koh Tao. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Viewpoint and highly recommend a stay here if you're after somewhere that offers luxury combined with an exceptional pool, great snorkelling and easy access to a great variety of restaurants and bars within walking distance then this is the perfect resort. I cannot finish this review without another mention of the wonderful and truly friendly staff members, they will make your stay unforgettable. Highly recommended!

Stayed in a garden bungalow as part of our honeymoon and View Point Resort was the best value for money of any place we stayed on our honeymoon. it felt 5* luxury with friendly staff and accomodating policies, like using their transportation for local taxi services. On the night of our arrival, we got to share our ride with a local bird with a broken wing that the staff were taking to the animal hospital for care. It's that kind of place - where staff go above and beyond to help guests and the local community :) Breakfast was excellent. Loved the reusable water vessels in the rooms. Loved the sound of the birds and lizards at night and in the morning from our garden bungalow. The bar was amazing and the Lemongrass cocktail was my favorite on my whole vacation. So good! Note: you do need to make reservations in advance for a massage on site. We didn't get a motorbike because we don't use one back in the US and it was very hilly/poor road conditions that made me nervous. So the taxi was essential to keeping our exploration reasonable. Ended up choosing View Point on recommendation from Ocean Sound Dive and Yoga where we did our open water dive certification. Enjoyed our time in Koh Tao very much!
