Beautiful Resort to relax and discover island with the scooter - we enjoyed the quietness and walked to 2x viewpoints nearby and to one beach - there are a lot of stairs and shadow in the evening at pool - snorkeling was good direct at Hotel and shark bay with turtle and shark was 10 min with scooter…

Overall, this is a lovely resort, very quiet and peaceful with unsurpassed views of Chalok Ban. The staff were friendly and helpful and the pool was quite nice: clean water and amazing spot. There isn't really much of a beach, it's more an entry point if you want to go in the water. While the peace of Chalok Ban is a treat to find on Koh Tao (unlike Sairee, which will have disco music blasting until midnight), the View Point is pretty isolated and it was a bit of a pain to have to take a taxi every time I wanted to venture out. The hotel does provide taxi service, tho they charge a per person/per ride fee. The road in and out of View Point are also very steep and windy, so I opted out of renting a motorbike (maybe some more adventurous would be up for this but make sure the bike has enough cc's to make it up the hills). The only other issue was temperature control in the rooms. I was in a Deluxe Seaview, which had an AC wall unit + a fan. The AC had no regulation so it was either full blast or off, nothing in-between. It also seemed to be broken so I couldn't turn it off. I informed the front desk and they "fixed" it, which meant that they disabled it so it didn't work at all. I made due with the fan but it was toasty. It would be a great addition to the rooms if they could install screen doors on the sliding windows that go to the balcony. I would've loved to have the ocean sound & breeze but too many mosquitos to keep the door open without a screen. The breakfast was nice, nothing fancy but definitely a good variety of options.

Spent 4 nights in this resort. The place is simply amazing. Took a garden view cottage and it feels like living in a middle of a jungle (in the best possible way). Despite the jungle around us we didn't encounter that many insects and bugs and could sleep very well. The staff are the kindest people and provided all the services we needed right away. Breakfast was very rich. Would definitely stay there once again when visiting Koh Tao.

I made a Surprise for my boyfriend and I booked a poolvilla 5. Everything was perfect! The Place, the room, the staff and the restaurant. A special thank to Lorena, to replied to my several emails. To the Chef, to made gluten free pancakes for breakfast, and to the rest of the staff, for the kindness and attention in all Little things! You made perfect our stay! Thank you

We had the best experience at view point resort, we rented a scooter at the resort, that’s the best way to see the island. Breakfast was the best we had in Thailand. Everyone is very friendly and our room was very nice aswel. We booked the Seaview room and had an amazing view. Rooms where very clean and we got towels and water for free every day ! We stayed for 2 nights but wished we stayed longer!

My wife and I decided to go to Thailand for our anniversary this July and one of the islands we visited was Koh Tao. After what seemed like days of picking the best place, we zeroed in on View Point Resort. Our decision was made because of the view, the price (it was quite cheap for 4 nights. We stayed in the sea facing bungalow), and the fact that it seemed like a quiet corner tucked away in a jungle. Which is what is exactly is. It's very foresty - long winding walks on stone pathways crossing dense foliage to your room, to the reception & to the dining area. There's also a lot of climbing up and down but that seems to be the general theme of most resorts in Koh Tao, a lot of them look like they're established in the sides of hills so there's a reasonable amount of up and down. Our room faced the bay so we had a fantastic view of the beach, the bay and beyond. The location and the view of the room was just perfect! The room itself is cute, quaint and has a great vibe. It had a nice porch that you could sit out on and enjoy the view and the quiet. The beds were comfy and the bathroom was quite large, which is always great. We both aren't fans of tiny bathrooms. The room has plenty of plug points, on both sides of the bed and otherwise as well, which is just great. I don't know whats with this decision that most resorts and 5 Star hotels make of not giving any plug points in hotel rooms. So glad that wasn't the case here. The pool area is really nice, it is an infinity pool that overlooks the bay. It has designed to merge into the large boulders surrounding the property and looks like a lagoon among the rocks. There are sun beds around and above the pool - there's a small area above the pool with beds as wel which we thought was really nice. Always good to see a resort not destroy the environment it's in. Speaking of environment - View Point is quite proud about the location it's in and the natural flaura and fauna around it. You can tell that they have taken extra care to blend into the hill side and not just chop it all down. The pool area reflects that greatly. The dining hall is a great big hut with a lot of tables inside the main area and more table outside of the hut, in the open. Both the hut and the outside tables overlook the bay so views overall are excellent, no matter where you sit. Special mention goes to Victoria, who is the host of the dining area. She's extremely kind, sweet and prompt. She was always there whenever we asked her for any help or assistance and was always very friendly and kind. She has a good sense of humour as well and is very pleasing. She totally added to our experience of being there. She even recommended a store to my wife where she could go shop at. She's been in Koh Tao for 16 years so she definitely has helpful tips and advice. Another special mention is the gentleman at the reception, I unfortunately have forgotten his name. He is extremely nice and patient. She's also good with English so that was a big plus. He patiently fielded all our questions, solved all our queries. He hooked us up with a scooter and also booked our snorkeling trip. He's always smiling and friendly, makes you feel comfortable to ask him things. The (slight) cons of View Point - The room does not, come with a wardrobe. There is also no mirror. There's a mirror in the bathroom above the sink but no full length or even waist length mirror. Since it was just us 2, we were fine and could manage but if you're a family, that might be something to keep in mind. Since View Point wants to integrate with the environment and not disturb it too much, there's the occasional critter inside the room. We encountered a millipede, a spider (kinda large) and a couple of moths. This isn't a problem for us at all as the both of us resonate with View Point in that we can share this habitat with other animals and insects. So this isn't really a negative point - it's just something you should expect at this resort. The TV in the room is tiny and isn't a Smart TV. There was literally nothing we could watch on the TV. Every channel was Thai except for one, which was campy Indian TV shows. Smart TVs let you sign into your account in Netflix or Prime Video and solves that problem. After a long day, its nice to just watch some of your favorite things and go to sleep, definitely felt the need for that. The food - the breakfast spread isn't the greatest but isn't bad. They serve freshly made omlettes, pancakes and waffles upon request. There's fruits, some juice options and the other breakfast regulars. They make a mean banana pancake, recommend that. Other than the breakfast though, I felt the food was overpriced and not that great. My wife felt it was overpriced as well but didn't feel it was as bad as I thought it was. I ordered a Beef Bolognaise one evening and it was extremely poorly made. Some minced beef and some pasta were out together in a bowl. They hadn't been cooked together! My wife asked for a chicken and rice dish and asked for them to add a red spicy curry to it, which the gentleman at the other end confirmed they would do. When the dish came, it was dry without any curry at all, which was quite disappointing. TL:DR - great resort. Great vibes, great staff, great pool, good location! Expect an occasional anthropod to come and say hello. Food wise, eat out. Its not bad but for the money, you'll get much better food. Overall, great place to stay. We'd be happy to go back!

We planned our wedding on Koh Tao at View Point together with wedding planner Franzi for well over a year and Franzi organized our dream wedding. We had a wonderful regular contact during all that time. All our wishes and ideas were fulfilled far more than we could have dreamed. On the part of our wedding planner and the View Point, everything was planned and organized down to the smallest detail. We had a truly magical wedding. The wedding took place in a beautiful pavilion decorated with orchids. We wished for a unity sign made of flowers. I had forgotten to order my bridal bouquet because of all the excitement, but Franzi also thought of it. We have sent her before a few stitches to us. From this Franzi conjured up a beautiful wedding speech. The wedding cake not only looked fantstisch, it also tasted very delicious. The dinner in the evening was a culinary journey. The staff was indescribably friendly and helpful. We would like to thank everyone very much, especially Franzi, View, Point and Vici and the entire View Point staff and the lady who was responsible for the flowers. We would always get married at View Point again. Thank you so much for our dream wedding. Love from Jörg and Antje

We spend 10 very nice days at the View Point Resort. Due to Covid, the usually very popular tourist island of Koh Tao was almost without tourists at all. So also this resort was very empty on some of the days we stayed there. The property is huge, so you basically feel like being alone in the jungle in your very private, little villa. Which doesn’t mean that we were missing service. Not at all. As a guest you could rely on getting tasty food and drinks in the restaurant and pool bar and the whole grounds were well kept. The grounds are the most fascinating thing about this resort: it is widely spread over a mountain and spans from sea level up to 50 – 100 meters up the hill. The villas and huts have all beautiful views, either towards the bay or towards the open Gulf of Thailand. The beauty of this resort comes from how it is embedded and surrounded by nature, beautiful tropical plants, sweeping sea views, and abundancy of life around you. All of that is topped by lovely little huts or luxury pool villas. We absolutly loved it, but I would not recommend this resort, if someone is afraid of nature, as it surrounds you there. Service was lovely at this resort, especially Victoria and Tata made sure, that we enjoyed our time in the restaurant. I can highly recommend the Pad Thai and the “small” garden salad – which is everything but small 😊

Some lovely pluses such as: The beautiful views from the hotel and restaurant Great upkeep of the gardens Friendly, English speaking staff Free shuttle to and from the ferry and into town on some days However, the Covid situation seems to have taken a toll in a few ways: - The pool was pretty dirty/full of debris and a bit neglected. -Breakfast was very average and a very small selection for vegetarians. One day there was cold beans and greasy puff pastry squares (some supposedly croissants) with no jam. Horrible cold filter coffee, although you can request other drinks but staff don’t make that obvious. -I had a male worker buzz into my room when I was in there alone, despite having the ‘do not disturb’ sign on. Not sure what he was coming to do or would’ve done had I not been there. Would look at staying somewhere else if I came back.
