After spending time in Bangkok and Patong we were so looking forward to a secluded island resort away from the pavement and parties. Just a short tractor ride from the pier to the very end of the beach. We stayed in a superior cottage and it was beautiful (pictures below) all

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at this hotel (December holiday). Firstly I LOVED getting onto tractor to be transferred from the ferry to the hotel. My brief to my agent was that I wanted to relax for a couple of days and not to be part of the hustle and bustle. This was

Stay here over the Christmas period. Firstly the hotel itself is on a beatuiful part of the island but the down fall to that is its very remote. It’s a half hour taxi boat to the main part of the island which with booking through the hotel is 200baht per person and they only

Amazing beach and very beautiful view but the tractors and small car from this hotel are passing min. 4-5 times per hour through the beach which creates lot of noise and bad smell. There are also other possibilities to transport something to and from the hotel!!

Pros: Beautiful setting, very friendly and helpful staff! Breakfast was great as well. Neutral: Wi-fi was iffy, but we chalked that up to being on a remote tropical island. Signal is stronger near the lobby. The pool happened to be closed while we were visiting, but looks like

The only transport available would be the water taxis, that usually takes about 15-30mins to get you the other islands. . Or they have a ferry daily ( the same ferry that brought you to the Island)

Now that we’ve been to Phi Phi Natural Resort, I can answer my own question for the benefit of other travelers: It is very easy to get to the resort and a bit of a fun adventure! There are 2 ferry stops on Phi Phi Island, the First is the main stop at Tonsi Pier, do not get off the ferry here (the ferry people will put a sticker on you and tell you what to do - it’s painless). You get off the ferry at the second stop, where hotel staff will greet you. They will get your bags and haul them to land, where you will board a trailer pulled by a tractor! Like I said, a fun adventure! I won’t spoil it anymore than that, but you and your bags will be delivered directly to the hotel front desk! For our departure, our travel agent booked us a private long tail boat back to Tonsi Pier. This is considered the more “VIP” way to go, but honestly, I think taking the ferry back would have been easier! Our long tail driver had to park about 200 yards off the beach because the water was low, and we had to walk 200 yards in 6 - 8” of water to the beach. Thank goodness the long tail guy CARRIED our big suit cases about 55lbs each! It was cool, but the ferry was cheaper, air conditioned and pulls onto the pier alongside ferry going back to Krabi or Phuket... Long story short, you will not be carrying your own suitcases down a hot tropical beach (which was my fear) - which ever way you go, the hotel staff, ferry and/or long tail folks are all extremely helpful and make it as easy as possible for you! The Holiday Inn and other hotels at the secluded end of the island had similar methods. Hope this helps everyone out! Enjoy Phi Phi - it’s beautiful! We stayed 3 days and I wish we would have stayed 1 more! Last tip - charter a private long tail right off the beach in front of hotel. We had our own private long tail all day (almost 7 hours) for 2000B. Our driver was Gibley or Gipley / long tail boat #41 - he was great, took us everywhere, no rushing, left when we were ready to go, great time!

It’s not too far to Maya Bay, but they reccomend a speed boat. As you cross the ‘open’ sea. We organized a long tail boat from the island, we just walked along and spoke to a few people. We organized a day trip, took our own food. For 6 of us it cost 2500BHt. ( you can get it for cheaper) but we ended off with sunset, and lots of snorkeling in between including visiting Monkey Island. Just to Maya Bay and back will prob be about 3 hours or so. Speed boat is faster and not so scary.

"Ask for a sea view if you can."
"Get a villa - definitely not a standard room"
"Stay near the lobby. Staying farther down the beach or in back would have added a lot more walking and/or waiting for their shuttle."
"Huge variety - from basic rooms in three-floor block quite far from the water, to luxury cabins on the beach."
"Get the cottage or superior room with the view"
$55 - $149 (Based on Average Rates for a Standard Room)
