This is a lovely boutique-y resort property that is GREAT if you're looking to seclude yourself for a while. It is a trek to get to/from, so it's probably not worth it if you can't stay more than 3 nights. The resort is designed to be a Thai village of yesteryear. The paths winding through the resort are sand and there is truly no need to wear anything on your feet once you check in. The rooms are half enclosed in glass and half open air. I didn't like this at first, but by the second day I was sold on the concept. The air conditioning in the enclosed part of the room works really well (even by American standards). The food is very fresh, and they have a real chef and sous chef on staff. Only the sous chef was there during our stay, but she did great. Very good food all around. The teakwood furniture in the rooms are handmade by an on-site carpenter. Very talented. The beach is the best we've seen in Thailand. It's actually not that easy to find white-sand beaches with turquoise water in Thailand, but here you'll find it. When the tide goes out in mid-afternoon, it's fun to watch the crabs scurry around. It's possible to snorkel right from the beach. About 50 yards out or so is some coral with fish and other things doing their thing. The coral is dying unfortunately as people gouge sharp objects into it to collect edible sea fare and other things. We saw one family walking all over the coral at low tide just mutilating everything in their path with thick knives. Sad. All in all, this is a fantastic resort and you will enjoy it immensely while you're there. The only reason it ends up with three stars is the airport transfer. It is an hour drive from Phuket airport to the pier (where you will wait until 2pm for the boat) and then a bit less than 90 minutes boat ride to Zevola (with one stop). Getting there was fine. Getting back was a mess. Despite what the hotel indicates on its website and leads you to believe when confirming you're stay via email, you are not guaranteed to leave the resort on the 11AM boat if you have a late afternoon flight. If they have people leaving on the 7:30am boat and you're the only one scheduled for the 11AM boat...you're going on the 7:30am boat. You will rush through breakfast and then sit at the airport most of the day waiting for your flight. Not a great way to end one's stay. The boat back to Phuket itself was not good. The third-party company that Zeavola contracts with pulled a fast one. When it stopped at the main pier in Phi Phi to pick up more people...well there were no more people to pick up (due to low tourism right now). So they told us the boat was broken and to wait for a later boat back to Phuket. They were consolidating trips to Phuket so as to reduce costs. It's understandable, but a long wait for the later boat was not what we were expecting. When the next boat came, it was a tour boat vice a speed boat. But they operated it like a speed boat. Which made us nauseous. Very choppy ride. Much preferred the smooth speed boat on the way in. In any event, the ending to our time at Zeavola was a disappointment. However, the resort itself is great. It's a great hideaway destination (good honeymoon destination) and I certainly recommend it to others. Just prepare yourself for possible hiccups on the trek back to the Phuket airport.

Dear Yan Yan 2605 Thankyou very much for your great comments about the hotel. We heard from you that you stayed in many top 5 star hotels in Thailand and around and your loved our resort very much. Comments like this make us very happy and confident as the product hotel we fully control. That is why we also try not to use a third party contractor of any of our services. However the hotel is currently suffering tremendously from the ongoing shut down of the country. We only opened the hotel in order to give a home to our staff and at least pay them salaries. So sometimes when we have no other guests we have to use this joined boat service. I use is very frequently and we never had such a mishap that they stopped the boat or changed the boat. I will discuss with them and show them your comments as their service is damaging our reputation. I totally understand your disappointment but please try to understand our situation also. We are really struggling to keep our business afloat. Don't give up on us, and maybe you visit us again on a longer weekend, we will find a transport which will meet your expectations. Once again thank you for your kind words about the staff and the hotel. Florian, Lion and the Zeavola Family.

Our family of 4 with 2 boys had been staying at Zeavola for 3 days 2 nights at beachfront suites mid Oct. Only few steps from door to sea with clear water and white sand. Nice, clean and very unique decoration in the room. We can spend family time on the comfy futon with light breeze at the balcony. Mr.Florian, GM, and Mr. Leon ,AGM, and all staffs there are very lovely and friendly with great service minded. Thank you especially to my friend, Mai, for bringing us to this special place. Though it's raining from time to time, we all enjoyed our stay and our trip out to explore the ocean. Food and drink are also superb. My sons didn't want to leave the place at the end and definitely we will come back again. Highly recommended! Go to Phi Phi, make your best stay at Zeavola.

Dear Khun Suchaya, Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We are delighted that you had such a great time. We remember how your boys enjoyed the place. For kinds and young adults our place is great as they can roam around in safety. There are no roads and no cars around. They can move from the resort to the beach and into the water as they feel like it. I will share you comments about the food with Chef Satya the Iron Chef Thailand winning leader of our culinary team. We wish you to come back soon. Maybe even as early as Christmas or Year End 2020. Stay healthy and focused. Florian, Lion and the entire Zeavola Family

The thing I love best is how the staffs are genuinely happy and helpful. You can see it in their eyes and their service. We spent three nights here feeling like we are guests to a friendly family. Kudos to the GM and the whole team to create such a loving vibe of this resort. The rooms are cozy and food was good. The chef was so sweet he gave us complimentary munchies and even a small jar of the local chili paste. The beach and hotel faces East, but the light from sunset was incredibly beautiful. 10/10 would recommend everyone eyeing to visit Phi Phi island to pick this hotel!

Dear Zara Dharm, Thank you so much for your kind words about our team. Since 12 years we live and work as Zeavola Family. That your feel that is the ultimate compliment and motivation to carry on. We do not work here we live here. Very often my staff sees each other more than their spouses, myself included. We need to have fun and a balance life in order to create the Zeavola experience, but most importantly: it comes from our heart. We would love to have you back and include you into our family. Within 10 minutes after arrival, we knew 2 nights were not going to be enough... The welcome, the beach, the rooms, the service, the nature and the food were as good as it gets. Imagine an acclaimed chef, winner of the "Iron Chef" Satya Beeknoo, preparing your food while you relax on the beach of a secluded island. Florian's passion for nature is felt in every part of the resort. The management clearly understands the value of "Respect Nature and Nature will give you back!" No plastic, glass water bottles, reverse osmosis plant, wastewater system, beaches are cleaned every morning etc. We highly recommend it, especially now. No tourists. It's Thailand 20 years ago. Thomas (Switzerland)

Dear Khun "7ThomasK", What a wonderful review. As the Resort is themed to be a Thai Village 30 years ago, we still provide all the amenities and services of a typical 5 Star Hotel. But our luxury is the simplicity - Being barefoot, close with nature and our caring Zeavola family is what makes the difference. We are happy to see that you experienced great service throughout your whole stay and that you understood what the Zeavola magic is about. You know now how to find us and we would love to welcome you and your lovely family soon again. Stay healthy and all the best, Lion and The Zeavola Family
