Detailed Reviews
The hotel is isolated on Koh Phi Phi which is nice because the arrival at the Pier is hectic and chaotic.
There is a beach only during low tide and shade from mid afternoon due to mountain behind covering the sun.
It’s paradise from mosquitos as well.
There are huge “restaurants” banquet style right next to the hotel for many tours to stop at lunch time (there is a big sign writing in Chinese to stop tour guests to come to the hotel beach)
Very steep hill to access bungalows if you’re not staying in the beach bungalows. If you’re in the beach bungalows, they’re not soundproof so you’ll hear everything.
There is very minimum of furnitures is the rooms.
There is an information note in the room mentioning to not bring any food to your room to avoid rats to come in (didn’t see any) and beware in water due to sea urchins (didn’t see any).
Ps: flying drone is prohibited (disappointing).
Ps bis: the hotel has a shuttle to go to Phi Phi pier but if you want to come back after hotel’s shuttle time, get it organised otherwise they will ask you for crazy amount (a couple told us that they’ve been ask 5000B).

We booked a 3 night stay in the beach bungalow however, we arrived in Phuket around 1pm and missed the last Ferry over to Phi Phi, so we called the hotel to let them know we would not be arriving until the following day and they was happy to refund the 1st night which was good. Once we arrived we realised we didn't need 3 nights there.
Once you arrive at the pier in Phi Phi there is somebody with a clear sign of The Cove which was helpful as we had no idea how we was going to get to the hotel before we arrived. The man took our luggage and then told us to come back in 20 minutes when the boat arrives, the only way you can get to the cove is by boat.
The room was clean, and has a beautiful view.
The staff are great and very helpful.
The food in the restaurant was average and expensive, and the bar shuts at 10pm so after then there is nothing to do but go to bed, where the wifi is not that great so unable to do anything in the room except sleep or read a book.
There are 2 boats back to the pier from the hotel at 8am and 1pm, and the last boat back to the hotel in the evening is quite early which we missed and had to check into a hotel in the main town for the night.
Check out is late which is good as the ferry back to Phuket isnt until 2:30.
We did the sunset boat trip which was amazing!!
Overall, this hotel is great if you want to chill out at the beach (no pool) and get some early nights however, i wouldn't reccomend to people who want to expirence the Phi Phi night life.

We were two Indian couples wwho booked beach bamboo shacks.
Good things:
1. The Cove staff was super friendly.
2. The resort is located in a segregated section of the island and hence, there is very less crowd and gives the feeling of a private beach
3. They give kayaks and scuba gear for free to take a water ride
4. The resort is neat and clean and the staff helped with the luggage at all times
Bad things:
1. The bamboo shacks that we paid and booked in advance were promoted as rooms whose doors open directly to the beach, however, we were allotted shacks which were on the extreme corners. In one, we had to walk all the way 150 mtr to the room and then climb 15-20 stairs to reach to the room. In the other there was a 80 mtr walk to be able to get a clean view of the sea. This was the biggest disappointment.
2. Once you are in the shack, there is no connectivity to the reception. One has to walk all the way back to be able to request or complain for anything.
3. The rooms are not safe. They have clearly mentioned a warning that the resort management is not responsible for any death. We woke up to a snake on the toilet seat. Wildlife wise, anything and everything can bite you, even in the rooms since the animals can climb through the bamboo shack into the room.
4. The resort only offers steam rice and sauted vegetables in vegetarian option. Everything else is non-veg. Carry your packaged food in order to survive.
5. The resort is located in a place from where one cannot go to the part of island where parties happen. The resort charges handsomely for a boat ride to that location and back.
6. The resort has limited timings of pickup amd drop from phi phi pier. Please get in touch with them and arrange your travel accordingly to avoid paying for boat taxi.

After booking this trip I then read the reviews and at first I got scared because of all the complaints, but then I calmed down and read between the lines of those comments. One guy put the beach is small and there are too many rocks and complained when it was high tide😂😂😂😂 R u kidding me. First off it’s called the cove so yeah the beach is not like Miami Beach but it’s certainly big enough at no point did I ever say I wish I had more beach. Second it’s not rocks its coral reef which makes it for an amazing experience for snorkeling and seeing all the fish. U have to swim about 20-30 meters before u even get to the “rocks” anyways lol. And last if u have a problem with the tides take that up with moon. People also complained about bugs in the room. Yes there were a few bugs in the room nothing crazy, but I understood ur on a remote island in the jungle on the side of a mountain. If u want zero bugs in ur room then just forget about the amazing view and stay in town or at Bangkok. People also complained about it being a 20 min boat ride from the main part of town where all the restaurants and bars are. This is deff a Preference thing for sure. I prefer the separation of having the hotel where I stay be paradise. Super quite, the beaches super clean, and the water crystal clear. And then go in town to party and eat at different restaurants. The beaches in town because of all the boat traffic are no where as nice as the hotel. And it is loud with lots of people which I don’t mind when I am ready to party. We had so much fun. Slinky beach party is a 100% must go. If ur going to go on boat tours deff book them in town they are way cheaper. All and all I could not have asked for a better experience and vacation. The hotel staff was so friendly and helpful especially Gartoon at the front desk and Pele the hotel manager.
PS. If u don’t get a massage by Annd ur doing it wrong.

At first glance, this hotel seems like a tropical paradise with picturesque bamboo houses and breathtaking views. However, the reality of staying here was far from idyllic.
The bamboo houses, while charming in theory, are poorly designed and maintained. They have holes that allow insects to freely enter and exit. The mosquito net over the bed also had holes, rendering it useless. Our room was frequently invaded by mosquitoes, moths, beetles, cockroaches, and caterpillars, forcing us to sleep with the lights on to deter them. The bathroom lacked a shower curtain, so every shower left the entire area wet. Even worse, it was littered with dead ants that joined us in the shower.
Staying here felt more like a survival experience than a vacation. We kept our suitcase tightly closed, took the trash out constantly, and stored all food in the fridge to avoid attracting ants—which were everywhere. Even after leaving, I found ants crawling in my backpack days later. While it’s understandable that being in the jungle comes with some exposure to bugs, the hotel made no visible effort to mitigate the problem. In contrast, a similar jungle hotel we stayed at in Krabi provided insect repellents, proper mosquito nets, and a much more comfortable experience.
The hotel’s beaches were another disappointment. One was small with uncomfortable sunbeds, while the larger beach—although featuring better water without rocks—was covered in trash. Whether the debris was brought by waves or neglected by the hotel, it was unacceptable that the staff didn’t clean it up.
A word of caution: stay within the hotel grounds if you choose to book here. Venturing out to other areas of Phi Phi Island can be risky, as the hotel takes no responsibility for transportation. We had a nightmare experience returning from a day trip. After being told by the hotel that water taxis would be easy to find at the pier for 800 THB, we found ourselves stranded for 2–3 hours as no taxis were available. Eventually, we paid 2,000 THB for a longtail boat in worsening weather. The 30-minute ride was terrifying, and upon arriving at the hotel, we had to jump into the wavy sea in complete darkness and wade 100–200 meters to shore, balancing our belongings in trash bags on our heads.
To be fair, the hotel does have a few redeeming features. The view from the rooms is stunning, and the restaurant was surprisingly pleasant. However, these positives do not outweigh the many negatives.
In conclusion, this hotel may look like paradise in photos, but the experience was closer to a survival camp. With a lack of basic maintenance, ineffective insect control, and poor transportation support, I cannot recommend it—especially when there are better-run options in similar jungle settings.

Stayed here as a young couple while travelling round Thailand for 4 nights, seen this place as a break from the busyness of travelling. The rooms were absolutely unbelievable, clean tidy and hygienic waters topped up everyday + new towels.
The food is some of the best we’ve had in Thailand run by some great staff who are always happy to see you and serve you, they was very good.
Location wise you are a boat trip away from the main land but you can just get on a shuttle boat that they provide or book one through reception we didn’t think it was a big deal or too hard like some reviews go on.
The beach is great the resort is 10/10 we’ve really enjoyed our time here and highly recommend it.

This hotel may not offer five-star luxury like the Mandarin, nor does it boast gourmet dining. However, it surpasses expectations with the most breathtaking view I've ever experienced waking up in a hotel room. While the beach bungalows are simple and rustic, they are not the highlight of this destination. Despite minor noise from long-tail boats, this place exudes a magical charm, situated amidst the jungle on Phi Phi's finest beach. After reading unfair reviews, particularly one-star critiques, I felt compelled to provide a more accurate portrayal of this enchanting spot.

We booked this hotel as a last minute decision and stayed here for one night (wish we had stayed longer)
The hotel is lovely, very rustic and secluded. The views are fantastic. The staff were incredible so friendly and all waved us off while we left on the long boat.
We used the hotel long boat for transfer to the hotel. Booked this direct with hotel.
My hubby did the view point. It’s quite a treck and he got bits to bits off the mosquitoes However, the views from the top were amazing. Food and drink were reasonably priced.
We stayed in B09 which was right near the beach on the end and the views were breathtaking.
Our Villa was lovely, basic and very rustic but added to the charm of the surroundings. Walking to the restaurant for our evening meal was an experience( it was like I’m a celebrity with all the critters
along the path) advice make sure you have a light on your phone so you make sure you don’t stand on anything. I squealed the whole way there and back. Our room was noisy through the night with the waves crashing and the sounds of crickets but can’t expect anything else due to where the hotel is.
The beach is beautiful, however, there were plastic bottles, rubbish in parts. Some of the steps need repairing which you use to go to the beach. Shame really. This place is amazing and would defo go back however, needs a few tweaks to make it WOW. Thanks again TheCove.

So we booked way back last year, and was a little sceptical due to some of the previous reviews. However we decided to stick with it as we had been places before with bad reviews by others and were pleasantly surprised. This place was AMAZING.
I get some people have had issues with ants or noise, but you get what you pay for. The Beach Huts and Garden Huts are lower down, where you get spectacular views of the ocean. Yes you will hear the natural noise and boats but that comes part and parcel with the view.
We had an Ocean Cliff Villa, it was stunning. The view, the villa and the pure tranquility of the surroundings were on point. The fact it’s a little cove away from everything and everyone couldn’t have been nicer.
There were so many positives about this place, we stayed for 3 nights (over Valentines). The biggest asset to this little treasure is the staff. They go all out to make you feel welcome, they are happy, smiley, helpful and a pleasure to be around. They all welcome you in off the long boat and they all wave you good bye as you leave, those personal touches go a long way.
I’m not dismissing others negative comments as we all have our own experiences, but we definitely wouldn’t hesitate to book again or recommend to friends & family. 🇹🇭🙏🏼🇹🇭

The accommodation is very old and is run by 8 or more young people! Everyone is friendly, no question about it... but we were in an old hill bungalow (the new ones made of bamboo are perhaps better): all the drains stank, the laundry smells musty and the pillows stink like hell! But the worst thing of all is the food! I have never eaten so badly in my entire life (especially not in Thailand!). It's actually a disgrace, because you pay over €225 for 2 nights even in the rainy season!!
