#3 of 48 hotels in Ko Phi Phi Don
Previously known as the Holiday Inn PhiPhi Island, the resort has been rebranded as the PhiPhi Holiday Resort. The owning company has decided to independently manage the property, under the same ownership, from the same operation team. Our dedicated staff and management team we have here remains the same. We are committed to continuously providing exceptional service. As part of the rebrand project, we are renovating our guest rooms and expanding our product and service offerings, including a new beach bar, cafe, and a beach club. Other additions also include family suites and pool villas on the sunset cliff, overlooking the Andaman Sea. Our staff are also going through additional training to address the additional COVID-19 measures, while we raise the safety and hygienic standards in our resort. PhiPhi Holiday Resort stands by its commitment to guest satisfaction and experience on PhiPhi Island.

Short version: this hotel delivers about what I would expect for a 3-star resort. The location is it's number 1 positive attribute, along with the hospitality of the staff. The amenities and condition of the resort are its downside. Long version: My husband and I stayed here for six nights on our first visit to Thailand. We had a great time because of all the beauty and adventure the island had to offer. The hotel itself was a good home base, but not the highlight of the trip (and that's about what I suppose I would expect from a 3-star hotel). The prices for excursions/longtail boat were reasonable and we were able to fill our time with a lot of different activities, but mostly lounging on the beach and swimming. Below are the reasons I could not rate the resort above average: 1) I deliberately booked a beachfront bungalow. This would suggest a bungalow with the beach directly in front. Upon being shown to our room the first thing I noticed was there was another bungalow directly in front of ours. Not the beach. I didn't want to be a "typical American," and complain right off the bat, but this really didn't seem acceptable to me so I asked the very nice staff member to see if she could address the issue. She seemed immediately to understand my concern and went to talk to her manager. They were unable to offer us another room in the same category as the one we booked (they offered a downgrade), but said they could move us the next day. Ultimately they ended up moving us later that evening, and I appreciated that. However, disappointment is not the first feeling I want to experience when kicking off my island vacation. Note to travelers - if you want beachfront, don't book bungalow 110. 2) The bathrooms are extremely dated. Because of this, I never felt as though they were truly clean. I am sure the cleaning staff do a great job, but the appearance of old fixtures, tile and grout give the impression of constant grime. 3) The decking around the pool areas (both the main pool and sunset pool) is dilapidated and dangerous. I actually witness a little kid, maybe 5-6, have their foot break through one of the decking boards while they were simply standing still as their parent toweled them off. Luckily, no one was hurt. The decking boards are all missed-matched , cracked or peeling. It's a trip hazard or stubbed toe hazard at least. 4) The grounds are maintained, but there's room for improvement. The grassy areas are overgrown in places (but not in a natural, "I'm in the wild" way). with lots of weeds. In some places where there needs to be pathways, there aren't any. For example, you have to walk in between some of the beachfront bungalows from the back in order to get to the front and these areas are not cleared as paths so you're walking across overgrown grass, dirt piles and, in some cases, garbage. You could walk along the beach to your bungalow as some of them have sand that go right up to them, but if you tried to walk to our along the beach, you would eventually hit patchy, uneven grass or pavers from the other side. Either way, there was no consistency and this made the pathways just seem unfinished and a bit of an afterthought. 5) There are staff members that clean the beach directly in front of the resort every morning so the beach is mostly clean, but there still always seems to be garbage laying around. Some of this is the work of inconsiderate guests, but also, I think there needs to be more frequent cleaning. I saw room service trays with leftover dinners left outside of bungalows for several days before being collected, so debris naturally ends up scattered around. I can understand guests not wanting to leave room service treys in their own rooms as this (we learned the hard way) quickly attracts hordes of ants. There are not many trash cans around the resort either. Also, there are some "behind the scenes" areas of the hotel that are meant for staff, but they still visible to guests and are cluttered with junk and garbage. 6) Food and drink was fine, but I would recommend eating at any of the local spots on the beach on in Sai Village over the hotel food. It will be less expensive and tastier. Drinks also always seem to take a really long time and they're never made the same twice (I advise not attempting to order a Margarita). Also, sometimes you can hardly tell if alcohol was actually added. 7) The hotel offers certain activities and excursions at really great prices, but I was disappointed when I found out about other activities we could have done but the resort didn't offer it, or at least didn't advertise it (such as going to see bioluminescent plankton). 8) There are arguments for and against spraying to keep mosquitos away, but whatever your opinions are, this hotel definitely does not spray and the bug bites quickly add up. 9) While there was never a lack of beach chairs available, they ones that were offered were cheap plastic. Most of them were cracked in one spot or another and there were no cushions. So yay for not having to lay in the sand (lots of sand fleas!), but not so much for the uncomfortable chairs. Speaking of a lack of chair cushions... this goes for all other manner of chair around the resort. The outdoor dining chairs, for example, were clearly meant to have cushions but did not, so you were generally always uncomfortable when laying or sitting on any of the hotels furniture... Some of these things are pretty minor and, in reality, are not going to ruin your vacation, but they are tiny details that keep the hotel from earning any points that would bring it above and beyond "average."

We have just returned from our second stay at Phi Phi Holiday Resort (previously Holiday Inn). We stayed for 11 nights and enjoyed every minute! The staff are so friendly and attentive (huge Thanks to Joy for making our stay so special) and the food is amazing, especially in Jimmys Cafe. Food at the neighbouring locally owned beach restaurants is also incredible and cheaper than hotel prices. Areas of the hotel are undergoing renovation but this didn’t really affect us as we spent most of our time on the beautiful beach. We stayed in a beachfront bungalow (116) with amazing views of the beach and ocean. Room was adequate, could do with a touch up here or there and it seems they are making their way through updating the bungalows anyway, but we have no issues with the room at all. Would recommend the water activities (snorkelling, paddle boarding and kayaking) if you like that sort of thing. Overall a fantastic time away and we can’t want to return in a few years!

This place blew us away. Its idyllic. The staff are so efficient here. The sunsets. The level of service. It was just all next level. We had a private pool and view of the ocean and sunset. Huuuge bed. Coffee machine. Their attention to service is epic. Cannot wait to go back.

Lately posting my staycation of my April’22 staycation review here,The hotel is superbly designed even newer now with renovations in works. We have stayed there in newer superior bungalow for 3 nights. We are warmly gritted with welcome drink at reception and shown our room prior check in. About staff,I must tell the staff at reception especially Rikaa and Air was very helpful,Rikaa has arranged beautiful candle light dinner at beach side on prompt late evening request and also decorated our room as honeymoon style being me and my wife’s anniversary. Being a vegetarian with limited option in food, They arranged us vegetable grilled sandwich and other foods at breakfast and veg noodles at room also. For day tours They have arranged us nearby Sai village tour with merely 250 bath scooter ride wher you can visit other resorts and nui bay bay also. We had also booked bamboo island tour from nearby resort at merely 1200 bath and private long tail boat return pier tour with 1200 bath. You can also book at nearby Sai village for other excursions. In resort,They have about 1 km private long beach ,where we had kayaked and learning scuba dive tour. We had everyday enjoyed sunset at their beautiful sunset villa infinity pool. The view from that side is superb, the most beautiful moments. The rooms kept neat and clean daily with total 2 litre drinking water bottle offering. Overall it was Maldives kind of privacy and fun in resort with nearby many island tours with provision of economical personal boat operations. I would any day again be happy to return in resort with such a good memories. For to and fro resort from Tonsai pier you can always come from ferry (2 times a day) and personal boat option little expensive but purely fun.

This hotel is in best location on phi phi as far as we are concerned. It needs to support to be brought back to full glory after we believe a local buy out after big chain decide to sell. More people need to visit to support. The villas are great and pools lovely, great beach, sunsets and the new bar on beach all fab. A great stay with lovely people.

6 nights beach front Holiday Inn resort Phi Phi Island. Just walked outside and into the warm water. Post pandemic the resorts are still not full but the people are welcoming as in our previous visits. We prefer the quieter side of the Island. Now at the Thavorn Palm resort Karon Beach, 3rd time and very happy. Some markets and businesses closed including the two malls in Patong but will reopen soon. Still plenty of activities and we certainly haven't starved. So come on over, it's a great place, people are friendly and the climate is very good Happy travels

Loved our stay over here. From the resort, to it’s room ,and to it’s staff everything was perfect. One of the staff member “Rika” who was working on the monkey bar was really sweet and made us amazing cocktails. I would definitely recommend other people this place.

Just spent 1 week at Phi Phi Holiday Resort...our 3rd time to Koh Phi Phi. This resort has the best location on Koh Phi Phi + easily one of the best in Thailand. With a location like this it should be amazing...hopefully it will be. PROS -best location on Koh Phi Phi -their new premier ocean front cabin 117 is excellent -water was as nice as Koh Lipe + Maldives at high tide -great longtail boat trips from this location -their beachfront cabins are in a fabulous location CONS -the food quality is poor on all fronts especially their Thai food...we tried almost every dish on their menu in the 7 days (their pizza was good) -mosquitoes + other biting insects (some you cannot see) are very bad here + everywhere in Koh Phi Phi -we did not see them spraying + making any effort to control biting insects -the cabins have no soundproofing / avoid staying in any of their duplex cabins

Stayed here for 4 nights. Paid for the hotels transfer which i would recommend as it was seamless. They picked us up in minibus on time from patong and drove us to phuket pier where they checked us in and took our luggage. Went on a large speedboat to tonsai pier which was unfortunately very bumpy, but only due to weather that day. They dropped off everyone staying there and by chance we were the only people moving on to phi phi holiday resort, so had a huge boat all to ourselves which was great. I’d heard getting to the shore from the boat had been tricky in past but hotel have now fixed this by using tractor with trailer to bring you in, so you dont even get your feet wet. Check in was quick with cool face towel and drink, then we were escorted to our sunset pool villa by golf buggy as up steep incline. Our room was great and pool was totally private, not overlooked in any way. Up by these semi detached villas was the sunset bar and infinity pool, which we had completely to ourselves for our whole stay. Although there were not many guests, staff did everything to accommodate us. There were complimentary kayaks and snorkels to use, food in jimmys bar served in good time and tasty, and room cleaned well each day, with plentiful towel changes. The breakfast selection was a little small, but then there were not many guests eating, so you can’t expect laden buffets. There was however, fruit salad cereal, breads, ham eggs to order and a sweet cake. They are working hard on the beautiful grounds and maintenance and hopefully they will soon get the guests they deserve for running a hotel so well in these times
