Very unclean rooms. When we arrived at the hotel we had dirt in the room from the previous guests. Used shower cap in the bathroom. The toilet is filthy from all directions. There is no activity at all in the hotel. The restaurant, if you can call it that, is slow, expensive and not tasty. The breakfast that the hotel provides is poor in quantity, variety and taste.
Price almost doubled compared to 5 years back. I really had to say I enjoyed my stay in 2017 when I payed 130€ for 1 night for a 1st row Villa. But now the price is 240€ the night, so I really have to say this is not worth it. This increase cannot be explained by inflation what is very bad and frustrating.
Best placed resort on the beach We are a family of 4, we stayed there for a week, and had an extremely pleasant stay. The front row villas were spacious, clean, well maintained and super cozy. They are placed so you have a panoramic view over the see from the very comfy bed within the villa. Literally the only thing between the villa and the sea, was our sun-beds. The beach itself was sublime, wide fine grained sandy beach with crystal clear water, the best we came across on Koh Pangan, very suitable for smaller children. The breakfast was great, selection was big, and freshly made. The coffee was extraordinary good. Besides the great location and beautiful villas, the staff was in its whole own league of awesome. It is very rare that we witness that kind of helpfulness. To top it off, at the end of our stay I forgot my tablet in the villa, they got it shipped over to me on Koh Samui - without any problems, that is just an exceptional splendid service. Can only give my best recommendations to this resort. We booked directly, as we had to arrange some extra beds etc, and that I would also strongly recommend.…
We had an amazing time from start to finish! We stayed here for about 5 days and could have happily stayed longer. We were in the first row beach villa and upon arrival we were welcomed by the lovely Kun at reception and ensured that we had everything that we needed. The rooms were very comfortable, a few feet from the sand and the sea, plus it was cleaned everyday, promptly and well by the staff. The breakfast was tasty and made to order. The area was amazingly peaceful with a long stretch of beach to enjoy. We often walked to the Buddhist temple and to several other bars and restaurants in this beautiful area. You can also rent kayaks and take boat trips nearby. We would definitely return to Pinchang resort, we had a fantastic time here.
We stayed for 10 nights as a group of 8 and for £125 a night, we were terribly disappointed. This was a very special family holiday and the lack of luxury of the hotel and lack of care from the staff put a massive dampener on the whole trip. Upon check in, we were giving a lengthy speech about all of the rules of the hotel and the fines attached if these rules are broken. Towels have to be signed in and out and charged £40 if this is not done. If you even get water on the floor of the toilets there are signs saying you’ll be charged £40. It felt like we were in a hostel instead of a luxury hotel. I also mentioned it was my mother’s 50th birthday whilst we were there. A small gesture would have been greatly appreciated and the luxury cabins in the front and second rows stayed empty for our whole stay. It would have been nice for her to be upgraded as it costs the hotel nothing. The pool was small, rooms dark and tired. Our tv didn’t work and the lights in our room broken, it took 5 days and two requests for the lights to be fixed so we weren’t sitting in even worse darkness. You even struggled to buy the drink you wanted at the bar. They refused to serve us a vodka and sprite, despite sprite bottles being pointed at and we had to settle for something else. The service was so slow it became a running joke between guests. For £125 a night, you can get so much more for your money and would really advise anyone thinking of booking to go with something else if they’re looking for luxury or a relaxing stay where you enjoy being in and around the hotel.…
A lovely family resort with really friendly staff offering nice and comfortable bungalows right on the beach . Amazing location with many restaurants around ! The beach is one of the nicest on the Island and the view from the room is incredible !
Pingchan is wonderful. Great food, the pla goong is mind-blowing! The staff is very friendly and attentive. Pingchan provides nice linens, comfortable beds and pillows, and proper facilities. Very comfortable place. Set on an enchanted beach. A true gem.
We were on the island for the full moon party and decided to ditch our gross hotel for something nicer and more relaxing. We were able to book this last minute and were so glad we did! It’s a perfect quaint spot right on the beach. Nothing better than falling asleep next to the ocean. They were also able to book us a car for an early morning ferry and packed us breakfast! ❤️❤️
I put off writing this review because I’m a bit sad that our lovely vacation is over. We spent 8 nights at Pingchan in a beachfront bungalow and it was pure heaven. I did a lot research before our trip to find exactly what I was looking for. The last time I was in Koh Phangan/Koh Samui was as a backpacker in 1992. I knew about the overdevelopment in Samui and wanted to find a beach that was still reminiscent of those days (without the partying). Thong Nai Pan Yai was definitely the right choice. It is peaceful and quiet with bars and restaurants all along the beach and I didn’t see a single beach vendor. I will say it was much quieter than I expected which I think was concerning for many of the businesses.. First let me state that this is not a 5 star hotel so if you are looking for that please go elsewhere. I would definitely say it’s the nicest place on Thong Nai Pan Yai. We had a beachfront bungalow which, if you can afford it, is worth it. The room itself is very nice. The bed is much more comfortable than your typical Asian hard bed. The bathroom is huge and the outdoor shower is a nice touch. The AC was fierce. The first night we were there I didn’t sleep very well because the AC was blowing directly on me. I mentioned it to someone at breakfast and an hour later, they installed a “thingy” that directed the air flow up. That was great service. The pool was great and spotless every day. The breakfast was good and the coffee was excellent. We ate several times beachside and the food was good – pretty much the same food and quality as you will find at most of the places along the beach. The mango smoothies were heaven and the beer was always cold! My only minor suggestion is that they consider more comfortable chairs for the deck of the bungalows. I arranged in advance for the hotel to pick us up at the ferry and the moment we stepped off the boat – we saw our names and hopped in the car. Couldn’t have been easier. Finally, the staff were lovely. The ladies at the front desk, the nice man at breakfast and the waitstaff at the beach – all were friendly and helpful.…
We were really happy to stay @ Pingchan for 6 days. Lovely beach and lovely traditional bungalows. Thong Nai Pan we stayed at 8 years earlier and it sure has been built up in the mean time = not quite so remote any longer. + very friendly staff + food + rooms - could be slightly cleaner
