This hotel provides the ultimate Thai experience. From the decor to the impeccable service and the facilities such as the spa and the pool. I had a gold body scrub at the spa, which was a very pampering experience. Santhiya hotel offers the ultimate luxurious hospitality. Arrival is by taxi and feels like you’re driving at the middle of the jungle. However when you arrive at the hotel you arrive at what seems like an oasis. Friendly staff welcome you with cold towels and drinks and you’re later transported to your room by a Tuktuk. We spent 3 days there and we wish we had spent more.
The Santhiya Koh Phangan Resort is truly one of a kind in the best way possible. The moment we arrived, we were greeted with welcome drinks and warm smiles and, throughout the entire trip, the service continued to impress. However, I have to say the most breathtaking part of this resort has got to be the impeccable wooden carvings throughout the rooms and shared areas. The Santhiya incorporates traditional Thai designs: stained-glass windows, carved wood, beautiful wooden pillars, and more. I've honestly never been to a resort like this and the unique touches really create more than just a nice atmosphere, but an experience like no other. The shared areas (the breakfast area, the pools, the beach) are nicely kept and very pleasant. P.S. the first pool is HUGE! Overall, the resort takes your breath away and transports you to another time in Thai history, creating the perfect mix of quaint and luxurious. Just for perspective, I stayed in the cheapest room they offer and had beautiful wooden carvings, a huge comfortable bed, and a stunning personal pool. My trip was genuinely so memorable and so worth the price. You can't miss!…
I have booked 2 suite with private pool for 5 nights (check in Dec 27th and check out on Jan 1st), one for me and my wife + our little daughter and the second one for my kids (14 yo and 10 yo). All went wrong from the beginning up to the very end. - we arrived and i was charged 350THB/night for the extra breakfast of our daughter: a bit disappointing once you put on the table more than 40.000 THB but no problem: we were ready to enjoy our 5 days relax - swimming pool was out of order for the entire length of the stay (the 4 four days because it was dirty and under maintenance and the last day because they were preparing a nice party (we will see later on the kind of party); - beach was abandoned: dirty, trash and plastic bottles everywhere. We were told than a storm hit the island 3 days earlier (Dec 24th) but - strange enough - all other beaches were clean, including the ones from resort on the same bay; - full of mosquito everywhere: staff told me that they were waiting for the mosquito treatment (we will see than the pics) - SAT TV didn't work for the entire length of the stay on both rooms: staff told me as they did not renew the subscription. I don't know if true or not, but the service was not available. We have informed the front desk and we were told that we can see only 3 Thai channels: unfortunately we are from Europe; - Towels: dirty and with spot or holes; - Room: at the check in we have found two used cans in the room: i have informed the front desk and they told me that they wouldn't have charged them on my bill (i have all the messages with me); - Wifi: he didn't work. I used my 4G packaged for the entire stay; - Gardens and tree: not maintained: we paid for a room "sea view" but due to the height of plants we couldn't not see it; - Gym: out of order for the entire stay; - Breakfast: standard in line for a 2 or max 3 stars hotel. Surely not a 5 stars one. Bread was dry, 2 type of cheeses were sweating, salami was the worst one from Makro. I have Never complained in my entire life!!! It can look weird, but i will post all pictures: my opinion is not important while i will let anyone judge based on the pictures. Finally - like a cherry on the cake - without any prenotice we have found an info on a bulletin board on DEC 31st afternoon based on which the hotel would have been the venue for a 30 hours no stop music party with 10 - 12 different DJs...The party was actually a kind of fetish party which involved around 120 people who checked in on DEC 31st. Don't know if they get any authorization for it (no mask, clear gathering alongside CV19 emergency), but after 1 night fully asleep due to the noise some guest called the police who arrived on JAN 1st in the morning (around 10 am) stopping everything...at that time 6 or 7 guests were shouting looking for an early check in and a refund. I prefer to avoid any further comment regarding this party because i will go through my lawyer: cannot accept and tolerate anyone putting my safety and the one of my family at risk: surely it was a disgusting experience. We have complained from the day one to the front desk onwards. We have complained from the day 2 to the Operation manager on Duty (Khun jimmy) because he was off the first day: we were asking for a refund and an immediate check out: he reassured us telling us that all would have been ok with him on board. unfortunately facts are showing the opposite: a lot of "sorry for the inconvenience" but nothing really tangible or supportive. Maybe he tried but he is simply not capable! At my check out on JAN 1st, after the last asleep nigh with the police (4 officers) there i have asked for a full refund although i think a serious management would have been offered also a compensation: they offered me only 9.800 THB of refund (last night due to this nice unexpected party) and 8% off on the other nights. At that time i was exhaust and i simply wanted to leave asap: my daughter was crying (police, beautiful people around dressed up with nice leather garments from the fetish party...) and i didn't want to spend any extra minute in a such horrible place. The resort - probably - was very good time ago and i have booked thinking to have a beautiful experience: now it is a disaster and i do feel cheated and scammed. That is why i gave green light to my lawyer to protect my rights. I do understand the need to cut the staff due to CV19 situation, but it is not a valid reason to run a 5 stars resort in a such poor way. Based on my experience stay miles away from this place.…
So bad to see the Santhiya brand losing its values. The hotel is so understaffed that the place is infested with mosquitoes and all sort of insects. Nobody there to attend your requests and transportation service is not what it was. Also they were missing a lot of products for breakfast If that wasnt enough, Hotel made all the guest the nice surprise to have an unannounced 36 hour no stop music fetish party in the pool and beach areas. So disappointing that they never informed us in advance despite several times we asked if the party was on. None of the guest could sleep for the entire duration of the party or use the beach and the pool. Everybody complaining the day after, a real shame! Not safe to have external guest coming in the hotel during this period, and not nice to betray so many families which were looking forward a premium experience. If you value quality, quietness and privacy in your stay there are many better options that Santhiya in the island!…
Had a wonderful 3 day visit to this exceptional resort on Koh Phangan. Special thanks to Jimmy and his team for their great service. Special thanks to Miel whose warm welcome and helpful assistance throughout our stay made our visit so memorable.
