Back after 20 years and nothing changed (and that is a good thing)
I like this resort, it brings back good memories and it is nice to see that after 20 years the resort is still rustic but very well maintained. It hasn’t changed in 20 years

Beautiful setting on salad beach with very good snorkelling possibilities.

I think this resort is very good value for money and highly recommend it if you are not looking for the 100% perfect and appreciate the lush green surroundings

We stayed for seven nights here in a bungalow. The bungalows are traditional Thai. Clean and comfortable. A bit dated but kept spotlessly clean by the friendly staff. A squad of cleaners are busy every morning cleaning all the sun beds and the pool area. The staff on reception were very polite and efficient and helped us sort out a couple of things. All in all a very pleasant stay.

We spent 6 days at this hotel and overall it was ok. Started badly when the beach front bungalow we reserved was ‘unavailable’ due to broken air conditioning unit that would take AT LEAST a week to fix. We accepted this on face value and accepted a move to a poolside bungalow- call me cynical but there are only 2 beach front bungalows and within 2 days both we’re occupied. As it happened we liked our poolside spot but that’s a little beside the point.

Anyway once settled in the hotel is nice and I can’t fault much really but it is pricey for what you get and I’ve had better for same price. The staff are helpful and the food is acceptable. Location is good and there are shops, a few restaurant and bike hire nearby. I would stay again but think the garden bungalow is better value

The worst "hotel" in Koh Phangan. In my 5 months of travelling Thailand I never experienced such a horrible hotel. I usually never write reviews but this experience as a young solo female traveler completely shook me. The staff and owners are unprofessional and rude. The rooms are dirty, crawling with bugs, cockroaches, spiders, and even larger-sized lizards' appeared under my bed. It is completely run-down and looks different from the pictures. My door lock was broken and when I went to complain at the desk a young girl who looked about 12 years old started screaming at me telling me I was the problem. Simultaneously, another couple was also looking for a refund at the same time, an absolute mess. Never expected this as Koh Phangan is not the island where this would usually happen. Warning you all to stay away. They ask for money upfront, so if you have a problem, there is no way to get a refund unless you complain to the credit card company. Loads of beautiful accommodations around with lovely Thai owners, avoid at all costs and stay away from these broken negative people :(

We have returned this year to a bungalow at this resort and found it very tired and shabby. The beds were very comfortable but there were holes in the sheets and the shower curtain was hanging down in the middle. Having stayed in eight different places over the past two months, we can honestly say that this was the worst. It badly needs a refurbishment. The tiles and grid round the pool were cracked and broken . They don’t provide tea and coffee in the rooms but provided a kettle with a broken lid on request. On the good side, the staff and reception were lovely and the gardens kept very well. We will not be returning.

The rooms we received upon arrival were above the laundry room and not together as requested (two rooms booked for our 2 young daughters). Experienced little service and consideration. First offered two acceptable rooms at a huge additional cost. Then they said they were fully booked, which was incorrect according to booking.com. You can then book a bungalow at (also) a considerable additional cost. All in all, I paid way too much for this very mediocre and dated hotel. Felt ripped off, but the first deposit had already been paid... Don't book this hotel, but for other options go for the fantastic Haas Salad.

Do not book this resort! Arrived yesterday on the boat and should have realised when our transfer did not meet us at the boat as arranged that this was not going to be a good experience. When we went to check in we were advised that the beachfront bungalow that we had booked was not available due to there being a problem with the toilet. We were advised that they were going to transfer us to their sister hotel on another beach which we did not accept because we wanted to be on Salad! After going to the beach and having lunch we walked back to reception past all of the bungalows, and guess what… all of the beachfront bungalows were occupied. When I challenged the receptionist he then told us that our room had been given to someone else the day before. No apology, nothing! Luckily we managed to book a room at another hotel on the Island because after being lied to there was no way we would have stayed a second more at this resort. Take note of all the bad reviews on here because I can guarantee they are all true!

Super nice, calm and cosy family hotel. Great escape from Haad Rin party life. Plus Salad beach is soooo close and it's one of my favorite places at Koh Phangan (escpecially because its' closenes to Mama Tuk massage :))
If you come to the isand so to enjoy endless parties - this hotel is a wrong place.

We were supposed to go to the island but due to bad weather, the boats wouldn’t go for the next two days. We were left with no choice but to change our schedule because it’s was so close to Christmas. We tried phoning and emailing the hotel but they didn’t answer. When our travel company finally got in touch, they only allowed us 6 days to use the booking again. When we asked if we could use it two days after the days they provided, they said no. I don’t see what difference it would have made. Money down the drain.

Hi we are staying with you at the end of March. Do you provide towels for the pool and beach? Regards Sue Hemmings

Hello Mrs. Hemming, they do provide towels you for showering but you can use them also for pool and beach; they're not very big though. Enjoy as it's paradise!!!

Of course too late a response, but for any future travelers: Yes, you can get to the full moon party from Salad Beach. Just ask the reception to arrange it. I would probably not wait until last minute though. And expect a long ride, as it's quite far from the party beach.
