The Shambhala Bungalow Village is a small resort located on the west coast of Koh Phangan, Thailand. The beach is one of the nicest on the island, a very quiet and relaxing place to be. The sunsets over the famous Anthong National Marine Park are spectacular. The port town of Thong Sala is only a 5 minute motorcycle ride away with all its charms. The Bungalows are brand new, in local natural materials, all have a clean bathroom and a big terrace equipped with the necessary hammocks. A beach restaurant, water sport rentals and free wifi available.

The room i was given was the closest to the road and with the parking just behind so it was rather noisy. The bathroom door didn t close from the outside and the system to close windows was rusty so difficult to close them. I had no water for about 2 hours until someone fixed it for me. Restaurant was closed in the late afternoon/evening so not possible to have dinner there. On the positive side I felt safe there. The matress was comfy and the staff rather friendly. When i asked different options for the night the "sala" was not offered and when i mentioned it i saw in their look it was not a good idea: on a windy night sheets as wall might be a little anoying! also if you like swimming the sea is about 10 cm high all day long (in june/july 2019) so not so good.

It was my first time in Thailand. Probably the best part about it, the shambhala bungalow village 5 minutes north of Thong Sala. Perfect moderate prices. It’s about 20 seconds to the beach. Almost no one was there. Very quiet and perfect for relaxing. It’s a family business. Very kind people. You can also rent a scooter from them, what I can warmly recommend you. If you go to Ko Pha-Ngan go there and stay there! Walking distance 2-4 mins to the famous Amsterdam bar and rock bar. But the best way to enjoy the sunset, is the beach.

This place will always have special memories for us as this is where my husband proposed. The location is magical, it has a real rustic relaxed feel to it and is extremely reasonably priced. The bungalows are on the beach within metres of the blue sea and the views were amazing. We walked around barefooted the entire time we were there! The owner was very friendly and chatty and some of the general staff were only too happy to help and take me to the local hospital when I slipped off the rock after my husband proposed! The food was delicious, slightly higher in price then it might have been in town however we happily paid for the convenience and it was very tasty! We also saved in the price of the accommodation. We spent three days here and I highly recommend it! We stayed in April 2015.

I tried to make a reservation trough their website twice but no response at all. This hotel is recommended at may websites but the only way to book it is via their website. Unfortunately I haven't received a response.
