I went here almost every day for a month for breakfasts and lunches. The people are friendly, the location on the beach front is perfect and the food is really good but if you order a Thai dish be sure to specify "low spice" if you're sensitive to hot spicy food
I stayed at The Sanctuary on Haad Thien during my time in this area. However my husband and I spent most of our days and evenings here instead. The staff where really friendly and made us feel very welcome. There is a pool table and sun loungers on the beach for whiling away the days. The drinks are a very reasonable price and wide selection of cocktails etc. The food is also great! My husband said the pad thai's he had there were the best he'd had throughput the whole holiday. We only got back yesterday but I already miss this place. They also show movies on an evening. We watched 3 and they were all good and ones he hadn't seen before. All we will definitely be back!!
This resort transports you to a world away from the noise and pollution to a secluded beach in a tropical paradise free from outside worries. They have this amazing restaurant lounge area with a large variety of international dishes and the staff. The staff are incredible, extremely friendly and always maintain this cheerful vibe. The coolest part about them is that it is all genuine, you can tell they really want guests to feel at home, relax, let loose; it feels like a family has taken you in and they take really good care of you. The bungalows are nice and also a little wild. You can often see wild monkeys climbing the trees right outside in the early morning (Really Cool). Beds are a bit uncomfortable, you are pretty much sleeping on a box spring with an old sheet. However, for the price and amenities these are an incredible value. The bungalows include some really nice furniture and the outdoor balcony's have breathtaking views. The beds may be uncomfortable, but the outdoor hammocks may literally be the most comfortable spots on this Earth. At least for me, I spent hours laying in the hammock and I swear I thought I was on a cloud, I had to keep checking to ensure I hadn't left the hammock. We loved the view from our bungalow. We would wake up each morning go outside on the balcony (another excuse to use the hammock) and watch the sunrise. We both absolutely feel in love with this place and the people. We are already planning our return and I highly recommend this place to anyone that is cool, chill, and respectful. This is what paradise feels like!…
Coming from haad rin, we came over to see this side of the island to be disappointed with our first drink. I know the review is not about the bungalow, but still it is an experience to let people know. Stick with bottled drinks.
Here really for the beach, Had Yuan. We had a room on the hill which has a King size bed. The bungalow looked tidy, no apparent gaps or holes on the wooden floor and roof (very high roof). There is no A/C so be prepared, a creaky wall fan to keep the air circulated. The sheets looked clean but on closer inspection, there were a few burnt marks (from cigarettes) and pillows had a smell... Be prepared to possibly lived with a pretty big Gecko in the bathroom. And two palm-sized spiders (palms of a 6ft guy)...that are dead, hanging on the wall.... What I wanted to stay is a rustic bungalow with a castaway feel ....and yes, I and my partner were 'casted' away =p. Frankly, I was kinda proud I survived and learned to live simpy. 750 B for a bungalow for 2 - I think it met the expectations. Had Yuan has blue, clear water like four years before when I visited - but everything seems to have become so much more expensive !!! Seems to lose a little bit of a simple, rustic charm ... will elaborate more in my reviews of beaches…
