I think this is one of the few hotels who kept their staff on during COVID to keep their resort clean. The owner was a lovely woman who gave her staff the option to improve and build new things at the resort instead of just being let go. They have a new sustainable farm and garden area with fresh herbs and fruits as well as a new composting area to handle waste. The other members of the staff used the time to upgrade and renovate some of the older bungalows on the property. There were also nightly volleyball games on the beach with the staff and any guests who wanted to play. It created and gives off a family and community vibe. I also think keeping the staff on to upgrade speaks volumes about the resort and level of detail you can expect staying at this beautiful resort. The location is perfect because it is located at the end of the beach along the base of the mountain. It had the best views of the sunset as well as gave the opportunity for monkeys to come down from the mountains in the mornings and evenings to eat coconuts off the beach. You are also only a 10 minute walk to the viewpoint over looking the entire beach/bay. They offer a transfer service from the pier as well as laundry. The WiFi worked great and the rooms were nice and clean. The AC worked and kept the room very cold if you wanted. There was a motorbike rental across the street from the resort too. Swimming in the bay wasn’t the most ideal directly in front of the resort but that is due to the tides during this time of year and no fault to the hotel. If you wanted to swim in the ocean you just had to walk down the beach. The pool with the infinity edge was beautiful and the perfect spot to cool down in the afternoons. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Would recommend this place.

We are now the second time in the Longtail beach resort and first of all we would like to thank the staff who is making our stay here so wonderful. The beach at the Longtail has the amazing crystal clear water and white sand and you always find a place in the shade of the palm trees. The beach is super clean and the resort as well. You can walk barefoot all the time. Wonderful. The resort is located at the end of the beach where the Jungle Mountains begin and on the water Front you find the typical Thailand Rocks. So you feel that you live in the Nature. The Thong Nai Pan Yai beach is in our point of view the nicest beach on the island. There might be some beaches such as Haad Khom or Haad Sadet which are very nice for a day trip but for staying the Thong Nai Pan Yai beach we think is the best. On the beach are several swings and even an adventure bridge between two trees. The resort has a pool as well which is very clean and a nice place to relax and to enjoy the sun and you find enough shade under the trees on the Pool as well. The Garden in Longtail is one of the most beautiful we have seen on the Island and everyday the staff takes care of the Garden in a very carrying way. The staff is always helpful in any kind of questions, problems or needs. You fell very welcome and safe all the time. The Bungalows are very clean and are Perfect for a Holiday in Thailand with the lovely terrace and hammock. They have air con and everything you need. And very convenient are the mosquito nets on every window. The Longtail Team now started a new project: growing organic vegetables in the own garden. And even more sustainable: they now have a new project that you can soon get fresh drinking water and plastic water bottles will be soon no more needed in the restaurant. That is a very honorable step. And we appreciate the efforts of the Longtail staff to save the nature on the Island. All in all we have the feeling that sustainability is very important for Longtail management. The Manager is born in koh phangan and he is very carrying about the nature of the Island which is the Home of his family. The Restaurant in Longtail is one of the best on the beach. They are doing BBQ on the beach with seafood which ist super fresh. The Thai Food has a A+ quality and you find some western food choices on the menu as well in case you feel for a burger or Spaghetti Bolognese for the Kids. But the kids love the Thai Noodle soup here as well. The coconut milk for the Currys they make now homemade from fresh coconuts which they get from the palm trees at the beach of the resort. They have the regular ice creams at the restaurant but besides that they serve handmade ice cream which is made from fresh ingredients directly on the island. Served in a coconut. No plastic. That is an other small step to a more sustainable environment. In 10 min walking distance is a small village with a small 7/11 supermarket and pharmacy and everything you need. The village has very nice flair and it is nice to walk around and get to know the locals. On the end of the beach is a monk convent. We have visited the monks and ate with them and they prayed with us and it was a great experience. The resort has a spa as well which is located directly on the beach and the massages are very professional and a wonderful treat. The Longtail is an energetic place. And the guests are very mixed with young and older couples and families and all have a very peaceful holiday all together. Everybody is taking care of another. You always find somebody to talk to and chat and share the story’s of everybody’s journey and how they found the Longtail. All in all we can highly recommend the Longtail beach resort and we will come back soon and now continue to enjoy our stay at this wonderful place on earth.

This is one of the 3 best beaches on the island - no reef so you can get nice and cool in the ocean. The Longtail resort is charming, the staff are fantastic. The gardens are beautiful. We stayed in the Boathouse. On the map it looks like it's just off along its own little path. It is, but beware it's up a pretty steep flight of steps! However we had fantastic views of the sunset from our veranda. The pool is gorgeous, sun umbrellas would be an added bonus. It gets very hot on the sun loungers with no shade. The food was delicious. We had a fabulous relaxing week at the Longtail resort. Children everywhere and very welcome. Our girls loved the giant swings on the beach.

We are a family of 4 (children 8 and 5) and had the most wonderful 5 nights at the Longtail. The location is quiet but gorgeous, with facilities within walking distance (7 Eleven, laundry etc.). We ate all our meals at the hotel restaurant because the food was so delicious. Every night we watched many people who were staying at other resorts, coming to the Longtail to eat because it's so great. The bungalows are basic but clean and have everything you need. Yes, there are many children here - which was perfect for us. All the staff we encountered were fantastic and are a credit to this resort. We can't wait to visit again
