I think this is one of the few hotels who kept their staff on during COVID to keep their resort clean. The owner was a lovely woman who gave her staff the option to improve and build new things at the resort instead of just being let go. They have a new sustainable farm and garden area with fresh herbs and fruits as well as a new composting area to handle waste. The other members of the staff used the time to upgrade and renovate some of the older bungalows on the property. There were also nightly volleyball games on the beach with the staff and any guests who wanted to play. It created and gives off a family and community vibe. I also think keeping the staff on to upgrade speaks volumes about the resort and level of detail you can expect staying at this beautiful resort.
The location is perfect because it is located at the end of the beach along the base of the mountain. It had the best views of the sunset as well as gave the opportunity for monkeys to come down from the mountains in the mornings and evenings to eat coconuts off the beach. You are also only a 10 minute walk to the viewpoint over looking the entire beach/bay. They offer a transfer service from the pier as well as laundry. The WiFi worked great and the rooms were nice and clean. The AC worked and kept the room very cold if you wanted. There was a motorbike rental across the street from the resort too. Swimming in the bay wasn’t the most ideal directly in front of the resort but that is due to the tides during this time of year and no fault to the hotel. If you wanted to swim in the ocean you just had to walk down the beach. The pool with the infinity edge was beautiful and the perfect spot to cool down in the afternoons. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Would recommend this place.

We've travelled a lot around South East Asia in the last few weeks and Longtail offered the warmest welcome of any hotel we have visited. All of the staff were friendly and relaxed throughout our stay and it was hard to tear ourselves away. The restaurant on the beach was a little slice of paradise and we spent many happy hours hanging out there. The kids loved playing football in the sand in front of our dinner table, and playing on the swings and rope bridge. The beach is stunning, clear shallow waters going far into the bay. There are rocks at the end of the bay where the hotel is tucked for some clambering fun. The hotel has a kayak you can borrow and a fun swimming pool swimming pool deep enough for diving. We hope to go back one day. We liked that they offered a laundry service at a reasonable rate by the kilo.

This place is awesome, we just got back from staying here with our two kids. The accommodation is a hut which is clean and tidy and we had two beds and a smaller side room for our son. The cleaning staff are great and came in daily, the bathroom has a decent shower and the beds are comfortable with mosquito nets and good air conditioning. The pool is really nice and never struggled to get beds around it, it’s great for families but don’t be put off if you don’t have kids. The beach is amazing and very safe, the water is shallow and bath warm. We did a boat trip off the beach and went along the coast snorkelling and stopping at different beaches which was great and didn’t cost a lot. There’s loads of bars and restaurants along the front and a small town with shops / bars etc and a little high street. There’s a bar up on the hill you can see which is a bit of a steep hike but the views are unreal and a really cool vibe once you get there. The restaurant at long tail has everything you need and the food is unreal, we didn’t have a bad meal anywhere in the whole town it was all good! Really couldn’t recommend this place enough we would go back in a heartbeat

Love this hidden beach gem. Clean rooms, air conditioned, great food (Thai & Western), pool, walking distance to village, brilliant massages and the team that work here are so lovely and accommodating. Great for families! Huts are basic but have everything you need, including mosquito nets and airconditioning. As others have mentioned, the beach right out front is used for boats, but small walk to the best beach on the island. Highly recommend.

Just spent a few days at Longtail Beach Resort. What a wonderful place! You couldn't ask for a better location-right on an utter paradise of a beach and the service (especially the lovely Ona) was fantastic. The beach has no shortage of places to eat and drink but we had some of the nicest food of our trip to the island at the resort itself. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here. We will be back. We booked the basic accommodation, which was small but absolutely fine for us. Next time we will be booking a deluxe. Thank you!!

Very beautiful complex of bungalows immersed in a superb lush garden.
Very beautiful beach in a superb bay, very beautiful in the evening with its ambient lights.
Delicious restaurant on the beach, we ate there every day, with impeccable service, and very reasonable prices.
Small village 5 minutes walk from the beach, very local and pleasant.
There is even a green and great mini golf course.
In short, a very good stay, quiet, ideal for meditation 🙏
A little far from everything, but who cares 🤣🤣

We came to Longtail because of the many positive reviews.
Unfortunately, we don't quite understand the positive reviews.
Our 7th holiday in Thailand (the first time with our 4-year-old daughter) and ended after 3 nights. (7 were booked)

There isn't much friendliness here as we know it in Thailand.
The pool is a murky cesspool.
The sea isn't nice either. It feels like there are 100 boats right in front of it.
The water in the sea is stagnant and sometimes stinks.

Many of the people who have been here have also confirmed these points.
The bungalows are very leaky and our air conditioning didn't work well.
The waiters prefer to chat rather than take our order.
Our plates of food weren't cleared away 1.5 hours after we ate.

What is great, however, is the playground on the beach. It was a dream in the evening while we were eating because the children played really well.

Came here for dinner on our honeymoon when staying down the road on another resort. Was the first place we went when we felt ignored and not wanted in Thailand. Food was very good but service was awful all we wanted was a nice dinner and a few drinks. Unfortunately as soon as we said we weren't guests we got ignored an was suddenly an effort to order anything and then when we asked for the bill it took at least 3 members of staff 10 mins to get the bill. Compared to all other restaurants along the beach worst by far due to the service.

Best food and best value on Thong Pan Nai beach.
Friendly and attentive staff.
Dishes we tried green chicken curry,
Tom Yum Goong
Chicken rice soup and many more.
All dishes were tasty and of a generous size.
Most meals for 2 with drink we paid no more than 500baht.
