We stayed in standard fan room double and it was very nice, for the price we paid. The room is near the beautiful coral reef. The only bad thing is that they don't have fee wifi, but one of the restaurants had it so it was no problem.

I had to double check I was looking at the same resort when I read the other glowing reports of smile resort as our experience was quite different. We stayed for a few nights in late January / early Feb 2011 when the weather was not so great in Koh Phangan and the resort was fairly quiet. I think maybe...

Smile is a small bungalow complex, run by very friendly staff.. Don't expect 5 star luxury, but if you are wanting the experience of real Thai culture head here. Basic but clean huts, excellent restaurant and the best bar on the beach!!!

I only stayed here one night, but would have happily stayed longer if i could. The huts were basic with a mosquito net and a fan, and small balcony, and the grounds were beautifully landscaped so you never felt too close to other guests. The staff were a big selling point - incredibly friendly and helpful and the whole place...
