We were very looking forward to stay in Mango house as we've only heard raving reviews about this place. However what was a long awaited and promising experience, unfortunately, turned out to be very disappointing. It started with brownish and uninviting sea(not turquoise as in the pictures) and an absence of any beaches nearby. The closest one was within 20-30m...

The bungalow over the water looked pretty much as described in the pictures. It is very rustic, which we were expecting. What we were not expecting was construction of 5 new rooms to be going on while staying. Due to the nature of the lodging being so rustic, you can hear everything. So while construction is going on all day,...

The owner was drinking and partially drunk all the time. The room was not very clean and we found spider nets and stains on the bed sheets. We even heard someone having sex, which was something not very nice to hear. We paid almost 80€ per night, and for me this guesthouse should not cost more than 40, being generous....

From the beginning itself, Mr. Duane was very helpful and always replied to my queries. The moment you enter in the old town, you will find the relaxed environment everywhere.......... :) We were greeted by SAMSUNG and he led us to our room, which was amazing. Actually calling it as a room will be injustice....it is a suite that is...

We came here during the Lalanta festival so the place was buzzing in the evenings, which I am sure is not the case normally. Being over the sea was odd to begin with but the longer we were there the nicer it got. With the tide coming and going the constant sound of the sea was very dramatic, especially the...

We were highly excited at the prospect of staying in a solid teak studio on the end of a pier as it would be something out of the ordinary. When we arrived we were shown to the "Banana House" (just beside the three suites). It was nice and clean, the beds were comfortable and it was well presented right throughout....

I am not sure how people are so enamored with this place. I did NOT have the lovely experience that others are expressing and I really really wish that I did. If you see all of the other reviews that I have left for my travels, I ALWAYS have positive praises. (nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all,...

Waking up to the sun rising and tide rushing in across the mud flats, sleeping to the surrounding sounds of water all around and below, lounging in the hammock on the porch. we stayed for 11 nights and loved it. Duane was injured on a motor bike, but Steve, Nan, and James took over as good hosts. Old Town was...

We spent 2 nights here as part of our trip to Ko Lanta. Overall, we had a great time but there are a couple of things which I feel could be improved. First the positives: This place has a lot of character and the view from the deck is amazing. We had the one bed villa which has folding doors...
