Beautiful resort with nice bungalows. Swimming pool was great, self service laundry was very affordable and ideal and the scooter rental is also very affordable and great. The scooter rental comes with helmets for free which should be used, far too many people riding on the bumpy roads with no helmets. Location is a little far from main strips which is good for peace but means that it’s a bit of a walk (10 mins) to shops/restaurants. Beautiful Beach is a 5 minute walk and is beautiful. Breakfast was great, pancakes and French toast cooked fresh in front of you and good selection of yoghurt, fruit, cereal and some hot food. Bed was comfortable, air conditioning worked well although was unusually loud and outdoor bathroom was really aesthetic, although it’s not my personal preference to have the toilet outside. There were no tea/coffee facilities in the room and for some reason, there was no bin in the room. We had to create our own bin out of plastic bags. The doors into the room didn’t seal completely either, not a huge issue.

We booked in for 10 nights and it was an exceptional stay. The ladies at front desk and all the staff are so accommodating and welcoming.
We were given an upgrade to a pool room thanks to our long stay. Thank you!
The resort of 40 rooms is so lush and private. Very quiet end of town but walking distance to many great restaurants and beaches. A gym that is ok, but feels a little cramped. Some equipment needs to be repaired and upgraded. Breakfast was a nice selection of western and Thai. I would have liked to see more variety of fruit and the milk be kept on ice though.
The room was spacious and had nice amenities. The bed and pillows were great and very comfortable by North American standards. The outdoor bathroom we loved and had so much space. Mosquitoes not too much of a problem during February. Water pressure and hot water was excellent.
The only pool is perfect and heated slightly. I would say to add 2 more umbrellas. They had about 4 already. A large sala with padded mats to chill out on. Restaurant open until 6pm daily although we never ate there other than breakfast. Breakfast 730am - 10am daily.
Scooter rentals 250 baht per day was nice and we rented multiple times.
Three negatives were the TV is outdated (not smart tv and no hdmi input). We disconnected and put into the cupboard to have more space and power ports. Power ports in the room are limited and only two prong. Wifi is not that great as it is on one sharing network rather than each room.
I would come back here in a heartbeat! ❤️

The Tropicana is in an oasis of tranquility the villas are so private and wonderfully fitted out and set amongst so much vegetation trees and nature. The pool is the centre piece and the whole resort is set back off the road to give you complete calm. Lovely staff and easy hotel rent motorbikes to get around. The rooms are the best bit and there individual terrace. Great hotel at a great price.

Our stay here was pleasant enough. Some of the hotel staff were friendly and smiling. The two members of staff behind their breakfast stations always looked like they didn't want to be there. The breakfast was average. If you want to make sure you get a fair share of the 2 type of fruit, yoghurt or scrambled egg I suggest going early. We didn't eat at the restaurant as it shuts at 6pm and most of the time we were out anyway. The rooms themselves were good, air con and mini fridge so you can put your drinks in etc and we were given 2 bottles of water a day by the hotel staff. However, if you are looking for a quiet stay there is some road noise from passing traffic. The pool area is nice as long as you manage to get a sun bed. Unfortunately towards the end of our stay groups of people that were travelling together we found were putting towels on sunbeds leaving them and not returning for ages. The hotel is equipped with a gym and massage service and laundry. The hotel offers taxi and trip services. We hired a bike as it was cheaper than a taxi to get around.

The complex is very nice, and the same goes for the room. The highlight, however, was the outdoor bathroom in our room - well maintained and it's just nice to shower outside. The staff is quite friendly, but you feel like a nuisance at reception - hardly any eye contact, always engrossed in some kind of paper. One disadvantage of the complex is that it is completely located in a depression and therefore there is absolutely no air movement. This can quickly become exhausting when it's over 30 degrees and the humidity is high - unfortunately there are no fans on the bungalow terraces to solve the problem. The pool is very nice, but it's in the blazing sun almost all day. There are barely enough loungers there. Housekeeping is very quick and thorough. The location is fine - beautiful beaches can also be reached on foot, you will only need a scooter or taxi for trips to certain restaurants.

We stayed here for 4 nights over New Years as part of a month tour of Thailand. In general we found that this hotel was the best value of all those we stayed in. Would stay here again.
Pros Very cheap compared to alternatives Outdoor shower was epic, especially at night looking up at the incredible stars. Bed v comfortable and really quiet room (28) Pool area and gym were very good Staff were overall very kind and helpful
Cons In the room, there is half an inch gap under the front sliding door and back door out to the shower / toilet. This means various bugs and weird/wonderful creatures can get in! We just blocked it up using a towel but could be easily addressed by the hotel if they fitted a brush/something to block out this gap. Not expensive to do. We had loads of ants on the floor of the room in two occasions that housekeeping managed to sort out. No bin on the room - again not hard to fix but was pretty annoying. Outside toilet may not be for everyone with all the bugs out there in the middle of the night! Location - bit of a walk to the nice restaurants along a busy road with no pavement. You must visit restaurant Yawee!! Breakfast had ants/flies on it, although was free so can’t complain too much! Housekeeping took ages to do the room

We had a lovely stay at Tropicana Lanta, the rooms were lovely and the resort was so relaxing and tranquil. Easily rented a scooter from reception and they offered taxis to many different areas on the island. Breakfast was very good and staff very friendly. Pool area was lovely too!

Chawkacher Tropicana Koh Lanta is stunning! Perfectly located within a few kilometers of their famous and gorgeous long beach, Pra Ae Beach had to be our favorite. This resort has everything at a cut rate than you'll find anywhere else, full laundry facilities (250 THB for washed dried and folded clothes!), a gym, a large pool and a small "cold" pool for the very hot days. Their breakfast buffet is amazing!! I've never had pineapple pancakes before but I'll be trying to make them at home, they have all the other standard continental options (fruit, cereals, breads, salad etc.) plus the egg bar. And that's not even the best part, the staff have to be the nicest people in Thailand. Period. They all act with a level of care that makes you think they own the resort. Specifically Muay, (I hope I'm not butchering her name, as I dont know the correct spelling) she is always happy and smiling when greeting you, and theres always a suggestion for beautiful viewpoints, caves beaches, even a private beach that's a bit tough to find, but once you do the rewards are endless! She directed us to Old Lanta, got us a deal on our ride back to Krabi. This resort has the whole package, they rent scooters too for cheaper than other places we've been too, didn't even want us to top up the gas when we brought them back! I cant say enough about this resort, you have to experience it yourself!! If your not going to Koh Lanta while in Thailand, unfortunately you've made a mistake. Should you change your plans, Chawkacher Tropicana is the only place to stay, I would come back without thinking twice!

The place is really well located, very quiet, clean, EXCELLENT value for money. A special mention for the hotel concierge who does EVERYTHING in the complex and who is the only employee who is smiling and considerate towards tourists. The only small detail that disappointed us a little was the welcome, not very cheerful during our 5 days, the breakfast given the low season was not great either but there are 7-Elevens every 100m so we had breakfast there. It is therefore not necessary to take the formula with breakfast. Otherwise, go ahead with your eyes closed, but take the bungalow with a view of the swimming pool, it was perfect and not really more expensive.

On paper, it looks like a good hotel. We had booked for 7 nights. When you arrive, the welcome is rather cold but we are not there to make friends. We had a bungalow next to the swimming pool, phew, we won't have any traffic noise. The room rather clean, outdoor bathroom (hoping it doesn't rain) with bathtub. Trash smells persist outside, both on the terrace and the bathroom in which there is little pressure and the water is lukewarm. Forget to take a bath here because no hot water from the bath tap, the smell outside is unbearable. In the afternoon, the children scream and make bombs in the swimming pool. The water is cloudy (normal, it is only filtered at night). In the bedroom, simple thin cotton curtains and no curtain on the glass door of the bathroom. A "stream" filled with silt stagnates between the bungalows. We explain our inconveniences, they don't care, and we can't take it anymore and we decide to leave the place. They refused to reimburse us for our 6 nights.
