We stayed over the new years at the resort. It has a great pool, spacious rooms, and a great beach access to the nicest part of long beach which is smack dab in the middle, away from the hostels in the North and away from the rocky part of the south. Location wise it was just right for us. You can take long walks at night and sometimes the late evening and pretty much be by yourself. It's also near some great restaurants which are near walking distance.

The resort is old but well kept. The furniture and decor is tired but it didn't really bother us. Beds seemed fine albeit a little hard. The shower had hot water but the pressure was very low. Breakfast was mediocre. Staff were extremely polite and helpful. They rent out scooters though they're a bit dingy and I'd suggest hiring from outside.

All in all, location wise it's amazing and it was a pleasant experience. It can be a good experience if you get a good deal and not be nitpicky about the details.

Stayed here for 6 nights. First impressions were good. Large villa , small fridge , beautiful beach , beach towels, robes and slippers

This really is in prime location and could be the best . Sadly the rooms are tired , bathrooms need air con and upgrade as the furniture is way past it's best
The reception staff were friendly but the beach bar staff were less than engaging on the few occasions we went for a sundowner

Breakfast was inedible to the point we ate out after first visit

I loved ko lanta and this beach front location but I wouldn't stay at this resort again

We had a pleasant stay at the resort. The hotel itself has a ‘once grand’ feel to it. As though it once was a fantastic resort back in the 70s. It has all the space and potential to be a great hotel but needs modernising.
The food was not great. We only used the restaurant facilities for 1 breakfast which, there wasn’t a great deal of choice for the English palette. So expect to be on omlette!
The hotel is in a great location, the pool overlooks the beach and has the most perfect sunset!
The staff were friendly and helpful, we also used the moped hire service which was ridiculously cheap and an easy process. I think it worked out about £5 for 24 hours. Highly recommend touring the island on a moped for the views and the monkeys!
Would stay again if I went back to koh lanta. For the price we paid- I think about £100 for 3 nights, it was worth the money.
Though I have to say, the shower curtain was like something off a murder movie!

We stayed here for 4 weeks and had booked a villa. We were fortunate enough to be placed in the end villa right next to the beach and the massage ladies so we could sit on our balcony looking out onto the beach and pool. Very handy for nipping for a lovely relaxing massage most days as well. As we were here for such a long time we needed somewhere that was going to be comfortable and in a good location and it hit the mark in every respect. The villa was a really good size with a decent, reasonable modern bathroom. It had loads of storage space, a huge comfy bed and a lovely balcony. The rooms were kept extremely clean and the housekeepers looked after us very well and were very friendly. The aircon worked well, the wifi struggled though, its better in different areas of the hotel. We had 2 minor room problems with the aircon and the toilet while we were there and on both occasions they came out immediately and fixed them very quickly and efficiently. The pool was good, a decent size where I could swim lengths everyday. The only issue with the pool area was selfish guests reserving beds from first thing in the morning and then not even using them for most of the day. Breakfast was good including an egg station, various breads and pastries, hot buffet food, fruits and cereals. The location of the place was fantastic. Right on Long Beach which is a long (about 2 miles), fairly wide, immaculately kept beach. It is so big that you can sit on it and not be near anyone else so it is lovely and peaceful. The sea is clean and nice although at this time of year you do get a few small stings from tiny jellyfish, nothing major that would stop you from going in the sea though. There is a big strip of restaurants, bars and local shops within a short walk of the hotel and we found some excellent places to eat and drink at. You could also walk out along the beach and eat at various bars and restaurants. There are taxi/tuk tuk guys who hang out near the hotel entrance who would take you on the short hop to Saladan or even arrange day trips round the island. Had a very happy and enjoyable 4 weeks here, would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I spent only one night at Lanta Casuarina and truly enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable Deluxe Sea View Room with a great terrace (exactly as described at the time of booking) on the second floor of the main building (facing the sea and overlooking the swimming pool - to my mind a better choice than most of the bungalows which actually do NOT have a "real" sea view).
There is direct access to the beautiful beach with lots of pool chairs available. Funny... Most (during our stay) happened to be "claimed" by towels as of 9am in the morning until late; towels whose owners apparently wished to remain anonymous (as they were nowhere to be seen. Claim the chairs back! :-)
Breakfast is very good with a wide selection of dishes.
There is an excellent restaurant and bar on the beach just a hundred meters away for a magnificent sunset and enjoyable dinner.
We could not have hoped for anything better at this price and would definitely come back again.
In short, excellent value and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Not enamoured with this hotel.
Have just stayed in 3 other 3 star hotels across Thailand and this fell short of the standard of the others.
The hotel need is very tired and needs a food coat of paint and the bedrooms really need updating. The bathroom in itself is perfectly functional however the shower has mould and the drain was pretty revolting.
The room (standard in main building) is a.good size and the bed big and comfy. There is a wardrobe with a safe plus tea/coffee. The water heater (it's not a kettle) was rusty and when we made tea it had a froth on top! I think the fact it was all dark wood effect in the bedroom that made it pretty unappealing though.
The grounds are good and the pool a good size.
Ita been mentioned in other posts about people putting towels on sunbeds and very early too. Our first day aw came down after breakfast and there were no free sunbeds. Loads empty but all with towels on them. The beach was fabulous and our stretch empty but without umbrellas it wasn't possible to sit on the beach, so we hired a scooter and found another beach.
What irritated me the most is that there aren't enough beds for the number of rooms. Also the attitude of the staff . I asked at reception about the beds and why were people allowed to reserve them despite a sign saying it's not allowed. The lady I spoke to just looked at me. I asked again if there was anything that could be done and she spoke to another member of staff. These 2 spoke to each other for a couple of minutes and wouldn't look at me. They then called over someone else, more talking. Eventually one walked off and told me to follow. She took towels off 2 beds and told me to use them. We decided we didn't want to.face the original user when they returned though so again went out for the day.
The staff just didn't seem interested. They were happy to chat to each other and snigger like children, most odd.
The position was fine but I doubt I would recommend this hotel or stay again.

This was my second time at the resort and it has let itself go a bit.

Pro’s
Location is great
Views are amazing
Pool area lovely
Staff so friendly
Big thank you to the beach bar staff who were amazing , Chaba always greater us with a smile and made unreal Long Island ice teas.
Quiet , chilled out place to stay
Rooms are spacious
Great WiFi
Daily beach howler
Free pick up from pier

Cons
Breakfast was a total let down, from what I remember on my last visit it was totally changed. Very poor selection - saving grace was they do good omelettes.
Bathroom needs some TLC
No irons (sort this out just get a couple of irons and let people use them and bring them back!)
No pier drop off when check out, have to sort taxi at extra cost.

It’s a shame as I would not stay at hotel again as other on the same beach in same price range look like offer better standards. I think with a little TLC this could be great again.

When I do come back to Lanta I will 100% be coming to beach bar for cocktail happy hour and some nice food as the staff there really are fantastic.

Beautiful infinity pool, direct access to a beautiful beach. No feeling of low tide.
Basic breakfast. Were able to get soy milk every morning. THANKS.
First assigned room smelled too much like a cellar, we asked directly to change, which was possible.
Check out at 11am! The day before our departure, despite the “clean the room” sign, nothing was done. This is not the first time that this has happened to us in Thailand and we wonder if it is common!
They propose to be eco clean for the shower linens but in practice, they change them automatically even if we manifest ourselves differently according to their codes. Damage!

Well I am going to be positive first. Location is fabulous, infinity pool overlooking the beach, lots of loungers, great way to spend an afternoon at the pool. This is my fourth visit to Thailand, never had an issue until today.

But...after staying at a fabulous resort up the road we thought we would extend our stay in Koh Lanta. No availability at our chosen resort so thought we would give Casuarina a go. Tried to book direct, no luck, website issues, went to Booking.com which is straightforward selecting the twin bed option and making a note in special options.

Arrived only to be told no twin beds even though it clearly stated on the Booking site (which hotels have access too) was an option. (Travelling with sister).

Then had to deal with their manager who was just plain rude and uncompromising who said it was Booking.com fault not there's. He told me we never booked twin beds and never made a special note. Anyway after lengthy discussions we ended up having to book a family room (2 beds) and pay extra!!!. Checked into room, back of complex, view straight into bush (after paying for sea view room).

I then got internet access and checked my emails where booking clearly stated, twin bed option and a special note requesting twin beds. I went back down and spoke to Mr Customer Service and showed him actual booking. He simply blamed his staff!!. No responsibility or accountability on his behalf or even an apology just threw it back on his poor staff. He reluctantly refunded the extra money we had been forced to pay.

I am not sure who owns this hotel but service starts at the top. Thailand is renowned for their wonderful and friendly service but obviously Casuarina never got the memo.

The hotel is in a great location beachfront with a beautiful infinity pool. There is an outdoor restaurant snd beach bar. The rooms are nicely decorated with a nice balcony. The reception staff is very helpful except when it comes to restaurants. They recommended May’s and nothing else. May’s is walkable as is (Fat) Turtle beach Restaurant (a good walk)you can walk the beach to Turtle Beach at low tide. If you are looking at the ocean you can see it from the hotel at your left. Once again I highly recommend. The breakfast is OK. Food is room temperature except the eggs and omlettes that are made to order. I actually extended my stay here and would stay here again
If coming from the pier I would recommend stopping at The Lanta Mart. They have essentials that you may need including an extensive selection of wine, beer and alcohol including non alcoholic beer which is hard to find.

We did a transfer via the hotel for 2500b the first time, which is a private transfer so expensive! However, when you get into Krabi, go to one of the local travel agents and you can get to the hotel for @300b each. Same style bus. Takes a couple of hours and relaxed. Enjoy the resort. It’s a nice place
