Fabulous location on Long Beach where you have many bars and restaurants available which are very casual. Layana is a really lovely spotlessly clean hotel in gorgeous lush surroundings. The staff are exceptionally warm and friendly in particular Lat Santhad and Mhee who were always smiling and helpful going that bit further in terms of service. The rooms are extremely spacious and very comfortable particularly the beds. Close to town and make the effort to visit Saladan where the restaurants are on the water with fabulous seafood. The only thing I would change is for those guests who prefer the beach beds to the pool, the hotel allows guests to leave towels on to reserve and they may not use it for several hours. This in my opinion is unfair. Having visited Rayavadee in Krabi and The Slate in Phuket before Layana they enforce the rule of not allowing this and it works extremely well. …
We just finished a 2 week stay at Layana Resort. Would give 6* if possible Originally we had planned to stay only one week. After having moved to another hotel in the region we canceled the new hotel and returned to Layana (even though we did not get any refund for 4 days from the other hotel). Layana was worth it!! Why: + Very nice hotel with 3 infinity pools overlooking the sea + Whole hotel team with outstanding service orientation (reception, pool, restaurant, , room service, activities teams). Many team members have been working for Layana for 5-10 + years. Such a stable service team will be very hard to find at most other hotels. Returning guests felt like being with old friends. + Very nice room, spacious and clean bathroom with lots of amenities, comfortable bed, outstanding room service (after breakfast the room was always already back in perfect shape, daily turn down service every evening) + Extras: Complimentary pick up service at Krabi airport (van and/or speedboat if weather conditions allow), permanent high quality service at the pool and beach, twice a week relaxed live music in the evening, daily 2x2hr happy hour + Restaurant: Delicious breakfast buffet with western and Thai delicacies, during the day tasty meal & drink selection at the pool/beach, great a la carte dinner with daily theme specials. Tables overlooking the beach, tasty drink and wine selection at reasonable prices. + Activities: Professionally equipped gym, nice spa, free bicycles, hobie cat sailing, kayak, SUP, skimboards. Choose from different tour options (extra costs will apply) e.g. snorkeling, sundowner boat trips,… + Sunsets overlooking the beach are priceless We will be glad to return to Layana - by the way as many others do. We met many guests who have stayed at Layana 5-10-15 times. That is a strong sign of long term superior quality…
Had an amazing and relaxing stay for our wedding anniversary. Highly recommend the resort for a peaceful stay. The restaurant had great variety and the staff very friendly. Had a very enjoyable stay ! Room and facilities were excellent , 5 stars ! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
We loved everything about this resort and beach. Exceptional service, amazing buffet breakfasts, beautiful pool, and lovely grounds. We also appreciated they were eco-friendly. A place where you can definitely relax.
We stayed on the resort for 5 weeks. Our favourite room is villa 3 which sits on the beach and overlooks the Andaman Sea. The villa is comfortable, but the furniture is dated. It really requires a complete refurbishment. Very clean, outstanding staff who extremely attentive and friendly. The grounds are beautifully and meticulously kept by the gardeners. 2 beautiful pools, well equipped gym. The Spa is truly tranquil, Khun Sukanda and her team are doing a wonderful job looking after the guests. The signature massage is wonderful. There are various boat trips to the local islands, snorkelling, lunch is also provided. There is a sundowner boat trip which is very nice and many other activities including Yoga and water sports. The resort is currently in a transition as its awaiting its new GM.…
We stayed here for 4 nights as part of a two week trip in Thailand and absolutely loved it. We will definitely return! We were in one of the ocean front villas (there were 3) and we were in 1002. The villa is incredible - your sliding doors face onto the ocean, and you have 2 sun beds reserved for you. We were quite overwhelmed on arrival tbh! The staff are AMAZING. So friendly. So passionate. From the welcome to the cleaners, to the beach staff etc. It feels like a boutique hotel - local, friendly and well looked after - a rare find! The hotel is on a long stretch of beach - lots of small hotels on the same stretch, but oddly not much to do in the evening as it's very quiet. But that was fine as this is pure paradise! It's super relaxing and peaceful - the lunch/evening food and cocktails were AMAZING! Only downside for us was the breakfast as not all the food is covered - bread, some of the hot options, cakes etc attracted flies so we were put off. Would be great if these were also covered like some of the other food options so we could have enjoyed all that was on offer! Lovely manager welcome drinks one evening too - he didn't mingle too much so we didn't get to say thanks! They organised us the hotel van to take us back to Phuket airport. It was a stunning van with a drinks bar - so we left in style too! Their instagram undersells themselves! I'd advise them to post more, boast a bit! But perhaps they don't feel they want/need to as being discreet is good too! XX…
This is a beautiful property with a focus on exceptional customer service and experience. We booked a private snorkel tour with Parn, the Activities Director. Parn and the captain/boat hand went OVER THE TOP to make our experience unique. The snorkeling at Ka was hands down the best snorkeling my wife and I have ever experienced. Crystal clear water, warm, and so many fish. The lunch that was set out on the boat was one of the best meals we had while in Thailand. Fresh fruit, curry's, etc. The hotel property is amazing. We stayed in one of the large villas (highly recommend), which was spacious and right on the ocean. If you're going to Lanta...stay at Layana! Thank you again to the entire staff for making our stay so memorable and fun.
Overall very nice stay at Layana as our last stop on our 17 day stay around Thailand. The location is unbeatable- located on Long Beach with many restaurants and bars within walking distance on and off the beach. It was very easy to get chairs by the pool or beach each day since people didn’t start saving chairs at 6 am then not to be seen again til 2 pm (hate when that happens). We took a half day trip out to koh rok organized by the resort. It was on one of their boats (Layana 1) and was a small group with just 9 people. We snorkeled at two different locations and it was basically like swimming in an aquarium. So cool! We stopped at a completely private deserted beach for lunch and I have never seen just clear water and white powdery sand in my life! Not another boat in sight. Staff set out large picnic blankets and a delicious meal. They even brought you refills of wine in the water! 10/10 for service. As a group we decided to skip the last snorkel stop since we were all having such a wonderful time on the gorgeous beach. This is a must do for anyone visiting Layana! Wish we had more time to participate in more of their organized trips. Also shoutout to Parn the activities coordinator who was super sweet and always available to answer our questions via whatsapp. We stayed in the the beach 2 villa which was awesome. Way too large for just my husband and I but it was also nice to have the space. Especially the patio overlooking the ocean. We loved having wine out there watching the sunset. Only thing I would say about the room is that the master had a weird strong musty smell. Not sure what that was about, but we just tried to ignore it. The staff at the front desk was very friendly minus one lady who always seemed very rushed whenever we would call or come to the lobby. The check in was very impersonal feeling and we would have appreciated her sitting down and giving us an overview of the resort or maybe showing us around while we waited for our room to be ready. Another disappointing experience was when we rented a motor bike. My husband took it up the driveway to test it out before taking us out on it. Unfortunately there was something wrong with the break causing him to crash into the bricks located in the front landscaping and having the bike fall on top of him. Luckily a worker witnessed this and helped pull the bike off him. We went into the lobby to return the bike (as we had it out all of 5 minutes). We told the lady what had happened and not once did she ask if he was okay. It was very bizzare and just left a bad feeling in my stomach. He had hit his head (lucky was wearing a helmet) and had multiple scratches, and swollen ankle. With a resort of this caliber at the very least she could have asked if he was okay or needed anything. I was shocked. Another time we came to the lobby to ask this same lady if we had tickets to go to Lanta animal welfare (we spoke to another gentleman the evening before and he was going to pass it along to call in the morning). So she said yes we are good for 10:30 and called us a cab. Well we arrived at lanta welfare and they had no reservations for us. Luckily they had two open spots to walk in. Not sure what the confusion was with this? So besides this lady, we had all good experiences with everyone especially Laila (I think that’s her name). And everyone else went above and beyond to maybe your stay special. If we come back to Koh Lanta we may try out the Pimilae which we’ve heard great things about as well. But again, I don’t think the location of the Layana can be beat and overall would recommend this resort. …
Most of my professional carreer has been in the hospitality business as a general manager in 5 star properties. This is a very well run hotel at every level, as one would expect with a Swiss GM at the helm. The grounds , facilities, buildings are immaculatly maintained , and the staff , from the garderners , to the front desk were warm and friendly in a genuine way. Don't miss the spa services for which Thailand is of course famous for. A great stay to be repeated.
We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere, the hospitality reveived and the friendly staff at Layana Resort very much. The resort is located directly at Long Beach. The food at the restaurant is very delicious. Additionally local restaurants are only a short taxi ride away. Just as for advise at the reception.
