Pimalai Resort is a classy operation... There are plenty of sun beds and water sports equipment all included in the price... Prices for meals, taxis etc at Pimalai are quite high so getting lunch or hiring a taxi in the village makes sense...

My husband I decided to treat ourselves to 3 nights at this resort for our anniversary... I will say that the food is expensive and truthfully not as good as I would have thought... The Thai restaurant was good but I had better food in other areas for a lot cheaper... I dont like the fact that they charge you for water at dinner... They give you water by the pool all day so that just seems a little chincy for a 5 star hotel... The last night they did offer to change rooms for us but for 1 night it didn't pay to repack and lose out on time...

...We had a great beach front villa that had access a few steps from the beach with our own deck - deck chairs, plus there were deckchairs on the beach in front... They did not feel isolated from us as buggy’s took them up and down the hillside at a moments notice... The staff were amazing and in particular the restaurant on the beach staff - We loved Aimee, who was so much fun and looked after our every need with a joke and smile... I even interrupted her working one day when I locked myself out of the villa and within minutes she organised someone in the pouring rain to our place with a spare access...

There was a minor incident at the resort, but the host Noi went above and beyond to ensure that the rest of our stay was enjoyable and pleasant... Thank you Noi and the Pimalai crew!...

Everything was absolutely perfect for our honeymoon and birthday stay. The resort is beyond stunning, the staff are some of the kindest people we've met, the breakfast buffet was fantastic...we could go on and on... We are so glad we booked our stay here and cannot wait to return... Every single meal was SO delicious, and they were so accommodating with our nut and gluten allergies... It was so advanced and made it SO easy to communicate with the staff!... Rut, the restaurant manager at Spice N' Rice, was incredibly kind and friendly - he learned our names the first day and greeted us around the property every day!... Cannot recommend the Pimalai enough!!!!!...

...Ying, Ambuss, Mai, and Lai etc, always provided excellent services. However, I also want to highlight the unsung heroes, who started with the persons receiving us at the airport, the drivers and the sailors... As soon as we arrived at the resort, we were greeted with the usual smiles and the lemongrass welcome drinks, which was chilled at the right temperature for those who had travelled a fair way... In addition, the buggy drivers were always meticulous and careful in negotiating the winding and steep slopes, polite and smiling all the way, making your hop in / hop out of the buggy effortlessly... Last but not least, the various receptionists were so helpful in answering questions that my family posted regarding connecting flights from different airlines and baggage check-through etc, which were clearly outside their areas of responsibilities... Not only did they take the time to listen carefully to the questions raised, but also their response time and answers were right to the point... In fact, I was quite pleasantly surprised that Poon, the receptionist, actually took the trouble to call on her contacts who worked at the airport to help me find a solution... Before I forgot, I was quite impressed by the English standard of all the staff there, particularly those who have frontline responsibilities... I once encountered a staff whose English was not as good, but immediately another colleague jumped in to provide the cover and answer all my issues thoroughly...

...We were a bit worried reading a review of a repeatedly returning guest stating the service just isn’t as it used to be... Although the check in is 2pm, we got our room before 12am... Smooth, great, no language problems or stuff shortage... Everything is top notch, everything works as before...

...Every member of the Pimalai team greets you with a huge smile was you walk by and you truly feel so special and welcome. We had a minor incident during our stay (not the hotel’s fault) and we were so well looked after... In short, if you are thinking of booking the Pimalai just do it - we are already planning our return trip!...

There are two swimming pools, one by the beach in a semicircular shape and one on the other side of the entrance lobby... By the beach is a bar and a restaurant serving Thai food... Due to the vastness of the complex it is not very easy to commute between pools, gym, car park and restaurants and you will often need wheels, since especially the climb on the opposite side is very steep...
