Welcome to Lanta Pearl Beach Bungalow Resort in the middle of the beautiful Long Beach (Phra Ae Beach) on Ko Lanta. This bungalow resort is one of Ko Lanta's oldest and almost last family-run resorts on the island. But despite the fact of a continuously growing popularity of the area, the 3 generation of family members running this place manage to hold up a true sense of Thai authenticity & hospitality until these days.

My partner and I and his mum all stayed here for 8 nights recently whilst having a holiday and doing some diving. Safe to say it was the best resort I have stayed in.

My partner and I normally travel on a budget and feel out of place in resorts anyway but not this place. ALL of the staff make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The rooms are kept to a very clean standard and the owners have kept so much greenery and trees that each bungalow feels like it’s own private little getaway.

All the prices of food and drink is also very reasonable for a resort no different to a budget sit down restaurant chicken/tofu dishes start at 100thb. We ate with my mother in law at the restaurant for nearly every meal and the flavours have been kept very authentic and not washed down for western tastes. SPECIAL shout-out to Soh our regular waitress who was very patient in helping us practice our Thai.

There is nothing too much for the staff to do for you. Bike rental, transfers, tours they will go above and beyond to make sure your stay is the best it can be.

Koh Lanta itself is a beautiful island paradise forgotten so far by mass tourism which manages to keep its local charm and has not completely developed its whole coast line. Would highly recommend this resort and the whole island for anyone looking to experience the famous Thai friendliness. Look forward to our return

I cannot rate Lanta Pearl Beach highly enough. Very nice clean bungalow with air con, tv, en suite shower and bathroom, fridge and all the protection against mozzies you can fit.

onsite restaurant and bar has reasonably priced, high quality food with a well thought out list of options to fit everyone's tastes.

Pool is great and a lot of fun to spend each day chilling out by with a well stocked bar.

the absolute highlight of this place though is the staff. Each and everyone of the hardworking staff we came across were friendly, helpful and incredibly professional at all times, always willing to do anything they could to help make your stay better. This is without exception, from the moment you get to reception till you check out.

This place is great!
We loved the location on long beach, such a chilled out vibe
The accommodation was very reasonable and if not a little cramped it was very functional and clean.
All the staff were very friendly and could not do enough to help.
Jimmy who ran the pool bar was great with everyone and made an effort to remember everyone's names.
The hotel restaurant was surprisingly very good.
The breakfast were brilliant!
Our only negative was that the pool was to small, there wasn't enough sunbeds and lot's of children.
Long beach was 150 yards away and had some brilliant bars and restaurants!
The area was a mix of back Packers and holiday makers but never felt busy.
The main road at the top needed some attention as there wasn't anywhere safe to walk to the restaurants.
Would highly recommend lanta pearl!

It’s overpriced in my opinion.
For the same price, I’ve stayed some gorgeous and thoughtful resorts.
The room is clean, but small and old, AC is very loud, if I was paying $CAD30-50 per night, I wouldn’t be so disappointed.
I would give a 2 for the room, but the property is nice, so I give it a 2.5, 3.

We stayed for 15 nights between 18 dec - 3 Jan. We loved everything about this place, the bungalows were really clean and had the most comfortable queen size beds. I am half thai and have high expectations of the food and was extremely impressed with the food at the resort. Everything was absolutely delicious including the cocktails! The staff were so friendly, we fell in love with the staff: peach, A, Michael and Quan. They literally made us feel like family and would play with our kids etc.

The location was fab, literally 1 min to the most amazing beach. Funkyfish and Mr Wee restaurant was our fave lunch spot, followed by volleyball, swimming or paddle boarding. I also did yoga with Vivi on the beach (amazing) for 1000 baht (£20) gave me 3 x 2 hour lessons!

The resort is also need to the best massage place. It’s not on the beach but they have the best masseuses and is also a training centre. My nephew plays football professionally who gets plenty of massages and couldn’t stop raving about them.

There is also a minimart up the road, access to tuk Tuks into town. It’s super convenient. A trip into Saladan and dinner at Seafood Lanta restaurant is a must if you love seafood.

All in all, Pearl Beach resort made us feel like family. It’s really special place especially if you have kids. We are definitely coming back and highly recommend to others.

Very slight downside is the Wi-Fi wasn’t the best in the bungalow BUT the kids would sit in the wooden shacks with their devices in the evenings after dinner and didn’t need it any other time as too busy playing pool with the bar staff, watching football or playing in the Green space with the other kids!

Ps we also recommend Quan’s special Malibu coconut cocktail shake at the pool bar. It’s ridiculously delicious 😋

Thank you Pearl Lanta ❤️❤️❤️
We miss you!!

Would have rated it 5 apart from the lady on the reception wasn’t overly welcoming. Every time we had a question or wanted something we didn’t get much response or help. She didn’t smile at us at all, didn’t feel like we were welcome. Apart from that place was really nice, not 5 star pristine accommodation but it did what we wanted it to. Great location near the beach, we hired a motorbike from the hotel for only 200 bath a day. Swimming pool was nice, with a swim up pool bar. Room was what we needed it, it did the job.

After reading all of the raving reviews, I booked this thinking it would be amazing. After staying there I wondered if I missed something. The staff were definitely nice when we arrived but nothing above and beyond what would be expected. Our room was very disappointing. It was clean (although flooded with mosquitoes) but extremely basic. There are no extra amenities in the room. The door would lock but still left a gap between the door and the wall which let in lots of sound and the occasional bug. Unfortunately they were doing construction behind our room which was very loud and smelly. We seriously considered leaving and staying somewhere else but in the end I didn’t want to lose the money.

If it had been a bargain price I might feel a little different but it cost the same or more than several places that we saw in person once in Ko Lanta that were much nicer. It is simply a basic place to sleep and nothing more.

The Lanta Pearl is a lovely place to stay. The location is fantastic - just minutes from stunning Long beach.
This is definitely a family friendly hotel. There is a beautiful swimming pool but it was often understandably full of children and parents.
The staff are what stood out the most, the majority of them were so happy and friendly, it really made a big difference to our stay. The management are obviously doing a great job to have such happy staff.
The air conditioning didn’t work in our room and it was unbearably hot. We reported it to reception and they called an engineer out to fix it the next day - excellent service.
The food at the pool bar and the breakfasts were of a very high standard.
All in all, a very good place to stay and good value for money.

Situated near the beach, with own swimming pool, the resort is clean, generally well maintained, with friendly staff and owner. Over COVID, you need your own transport, owner rents scooters at 200 baht a day. Over COVID, no restaurant service. Outside entrance are two really good cafes. A Thai and a burger place, not open for breakfast. There appears to be a restaurant at end of street, 75m, open at 8am.

This place is pleasantly located near the beach by a small road with a couple of shops. The staff is excellent and the 'family owned' really shows. We were always met with warm smiles and a professional attitude throughout our stay over several days. As an allergic and vegetarian, I am quite picky with the places to eat whenever there is a language barrier, but the resort restaurant made this effortless through breakfast and dinners.
The pool is centrally placed and perfect for slow days, with a bar located next to it.
We got plenty of help with our transfer to our next stop and good answers regarding Covid rules (Most places receive very little or ambiguous information about the situation when it changes rapidly).
The cleaning is beyond and above and the bungalows comfortable. We have been to two five star hotels since we entered the country and none of them come close in service and clarity of information. The whole atmosphere and attitude is friendly and welcoming, in a manner which doesn't stress you out in the way that some places can come off as too rigid. We are very happy for the days we got to spend here.

Can't remember If I'm honest... however the staff are on hand to help with literally anything you need so I'm sure it would not be a problem. If you go, the iced coffees at the bar are not to be missed :)

Random question but can toilet roll be used in the toilets and is it provided? Thanks
Answer from Lanta Pearl
Ko Lanta, Thailand2 contributions
There is toilet paper of course, but you cannot put it in the toilet due to septic tank systems. There is a special bin to dispose of toilet paper and sanitary waste. Almost everywhere in Thailand you are not supposed to flush paper down the toilet.
