Value for money is excellent. Lovely place with beautiful garden. I like bungalow & enjoy good time on patio. Owner is very nice & helpful to discover Ayuttaya historic park. Coffee & bread is complementary... nice surprise..!!
We had a great 2 night stay at Niwas Ayutthaya! The bungalow was tidy and we enjoyed chilling on the front terrace. The location is fine and walking distance to places to eat and drink, we walked from the train station which took about 30mins. We had scrambled eggs for breakfast a few doors one way and hired bicycles a few the other way. Bicycles are the perfect way to explore the temples and park. They have a fridge with drinks that you can access and leave the money in an honesty box. We enjoyed that and the complimentary chips to go with our beer! It was a great stay. The owner is lovely and the place is looked after well. Would definitely recommend.
We booked the bungalow which is among trees in a garden. There was an air conditioning, the bathroom was simple but ok. The bungalow is small but enough for few nights. The bus from Bangkok dropped us like 15min away from there. The historical park is also in the area. We left to Sukhothai 100m away from this place. Everything close to each other.
We really enjoyed our stay at Niwas. A nice guesthouse with beautiful and clean rooms. If you come to Ayuthaya, stay here!! You can get bikes for free - a great was to explore the historical sites of old Ayutthaya
We stayed for only a day in Ayutthaya and chose Niwas Ayutthaya primarily because I had read reviews about Bob being very friendly and helpful (ofcourse, apart from running a basic check if their place was clean with decent air conditioning, bug free bed, bathroom with warm water and location) - and both Bob and Niwas Ayutthaya lived up to their reviews and trip advisor reputation! It was a pleasure to meet Bob as soon as we got to Thailand and drove straight to Niwas Ayuttaya (we took a grab taxi for this - competitive pricing and comfortable after a red eye flight to catch a quick 1hour snooze so we could hit the town running once we reached-we only had a day here and wanted to make the most of it). We reached at 1pm - an hour earlier than check in time, however I had intimidated Bob a week in advance and he was kind enough to accommodate us with an early check-in as the bungalow (it fit in our budget) we had booked was available. There were 3 bunglows in a line - we were assigned the middle one. The room was smaller than I had expected but clean with a working aircon, comfortable bed and clean beddings, an attached bathroom(no tub) with instant heater - okay for 2 people and served our purpose. The room has a nice porch, clean, green and quiet overlooking the common lawn/garden area - very peaceful. Luckily we did not face any mosquito issues, however, carry a repellent cream if you like to be extra careful. We also never left the room door open so as to avoid any critters from entering the room, although we did encounter any while sitting on the porch at night. As soon as we reached, Bob took it upon himself to explain to us all the places around we could visit as the town is surrounded by Wat ruins which makes it beautiful to drive around. Bob helped us hire a motor bike from next door so we could cover more ground (btw- Bob offers bicycles for free if you are interested). We had an amazing stay driving to the Wats and night market he recommended, we also happened to chance upon a floating market which seemed like a very carnival(ly) place with 600THB/person entrance fee. We didn't go in, as we were short on time and wanted to see the Floating markets in Bangkok. And it was opposite the elephant park which we didn't want to visit. Another plus - location of Niwas Ayutthaya. Very close to the night market, lots of cafes/restaurants, including a vegan restaurant(!), a 7eleven and it's walking distance from Wat Mahathat Maha That (Buddha head embedded in a Banyan tree) which is usually packed with tourists (including day trippers from Bangkok) during the day so we decided to explore this the next morning(as soon as it opened) in peace. After which we had to leave for Kanchanaburi at 9AM and taxi services had quoted exorbitant rates. We requested Bob's advice upon check in and he helped us by booking seats (400THB/person) for us in a comfortable mini van which was ready to pick us on check out - at a much lower rate (even lesser than half) quoted by taxis! Ayutthaya has very laid back vibes with easy driving around the city. It's not a crowded town so driving around ruins was a great way to start our Thailand trip. A lot of people usually stay in Bangkok and do day trips to Ayutthaya, however, if you can stay even a day here, would highly recommend it. Hope this helps anyone planning a trip to Ayutthaya. Happy travels!…
