I have stayed here for 1 week & I really enjoyed my stay. I heard about Johns cottage from many of my friends who stayed here & I came to experience it myself . Mr.John the owner is an amazing person & took care of my stay along with my local experience with good care. His knowledge about the history & geography of Munnar is mind-blowing. Good food made by the home chef Murugan. Rooms are good with neat toilets, value for money. Its in the bank of the river and gold course which makes the property unique. There was a confusion for me when I booked the hotel, I was redirected to a wrong website johncottage.in ( which is a worst homestay ) & due to my confusion I never booked it online. I had to call up the hotel and made my reservation. My suggestion to everyone is never get fooled by the similar name property & website and make your stay at the wrong place. Go for JOHNS COTTAGE Munnar , near Munnar Supply Association.

Rooms are clean and the owner john is lovely. He speaks good english and has good recommendations for restaurants and seightseeing. Breakfast is verry limited, only toast, butter and jam. price is reasonable. In the backyard he has a little garden which is quite enjoyable to relax or doing some yoga.

A pleasant and homely residence with a beautiful garden. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the host is able to tell you the names of the plants growing around you. The garden overlooks a river, with surprisingly little plastic waste in it, which is exceptional in India generally.

Booked John's cottage at Munnar only because booking.com had a fake entry of another cottage. Thankfully the driver knew about this property which is almost at the centre of Munnar. All the restaurants and tourists spots are nearby and best of all if you are fond of trekking they have very good spots nearby. The caretaker though is not that much helpful. But Mrs. Anita is very helpful and always smiling. John the owner of the property, himself is a very nice guy, always helping. SN restaurant, Mirchi Restaurant and Sree Kumaran Hotel all serve veg and non veg with the latter two serving local cuisines better and cheaper. Also Latha Store nearby has all the basic necessary amenities. All in all good stay. P.S. Only dinner is served. And tea ofcourse.

After getting room/refreshments sorted, on arrival I was directed to the local plantations: staff so helpful! Food was excellent, other guests friendly, and an early morning trek was arranged-all well beyond the call of duty!
