Best budget hotel on Roatan. Safe, clean and central. On the beach, dorm beds, private rooms, cute wooden cabins, luxury studio apartments, beautiful garden. Native Sons dive shop on property. All rooms have access to a kitchen. We have a small cafe for simple island breakfast and lunch.

Just returned from my 12th visit to Chillies / Native Sons and can hardly wait for my next visit. Everything a diver needs is right there - accommodations ranging from hostel-style rooms through private cabins to more upscale suites, a cafe on site for breakfast and lunch, the Mesoamerican reef right outside the door, the Caribbean charm of West End village, a terrific dive shop with competent and friendly instructors/divemasters, and owners and staff who are welcoming and helpful. A trip to Chillies / Native Sons is always a pleasure.

We had a wery pleasant stay at the Chillies Hotel and great dive experience with Native Sons dive shop, owners, staff, dive masters all do their best to make your vacation enjoyable and hassle free. Place is minimalistic but has all you need and clean, only downside is the Wi-Fi, not always available. Definitely recommend it for your stay in Roatan.

Thanks so much for reviewing us. So happy you enjoyed your stay. The wifi is a bit of a challenge here as it needs to get up into the back garden, through a lot of trees. We are always working on ways to improve it. Best wishes.

If you are looking for a place to stay and dive look no further. Hotel Chilies staff will take great care of you, the rooms and simple and clean. The dive shop is out front and a small restaurant Yahongreh is on property serving breakfast and lunch. This is a family run place where you will get to know everyone. Located adjacent to the beach within a 5-10 minute there are multiple restaurants, stores, bars anything you could possibly need while visiting West End. The water taxi is close by as well. Anything you will need the staff would be more than happy to help you with. Do not hesitate to book a stay here.

My partner and I stayed at Hotel Chillies for a week in April 2023, and had a wonderful time. The staff are very kind and helpful, going above and beyond to help us stay comfortable. It was great to have Yahongreh nearby for great food all day, and Native Sons was a great dive shop. The property is right across the street from the beach, near bars, restaurants, and grocery stores. I would absolutely stay there again!

Chili's hotel is a charming back- packers paradise located in a tropical garden at West End. The 1 and 2 bedroom cabins were built by the owners of native wood. There is access to a community kitchen for the cabins and hostel-type sleeping rooms. I've never experienced any theft, whether in my room or the kitchen. It's a perfect location for divers as well, with a dive shop on site. (See review Native Sons). My friends and family members stay there whenever we are in Roatan. The hotel staff is honest, efficient, and helpful; they have always met my needs. Miche, the owner, and Amanda, office manager are readily available with information, connections for taxis and recommendations for tours, restaurants, etc. Groceries, dive shops, fun bars, and good restaurants all within walking distance. It's very affordable. Yahongreh is a small, open air breakfast spot on site with delicious food. Open from 7-2 serving Honduran and American style breakfasts. In closing, the Jacksons are lovely hosts! Hotel Chili's is a peefect choice for West End.

Great place to stay. Went diving with Native Son's Dive Shop which is connected and ate at Yahongreh?, also right next to the Dive Shop. Always felt safe, comfortable bed, plenty of hot water for our cabin, friendly staff. Loved the laid back atmosphere, very relaxing.

I was excited to stay here after reading the reviews but was disappointed in my stay . The grounds are beautiful very lush, green , perfect oasis in the cabins . Grounds kept clean. Wonderful place to get breakfast lunch on site . That’s pretty much all the positive as the cons outweigh everything. The cabins are super cute , but there needs to be daily checks of the rooms for bugs. I understand island living, tropical climates but I experienced fire ants in my bed which was super unsettling. Could barely sleep , as they were on both bugs. I know better to keep food or drinks in the room as to not attract more pests . I knew the rooms weren’t cleaned but my trash was emptied once during my five day stay. I found myself emptying my own trash . The receptionist is literally horrible . She has such a bad attitude . The fact that people were saying this years ago and she is still working front of the house is insane to me . Had an attitude and rolled her eyes ever time I saw her . Had to ask her for a receipt after I paid , why should I have to. I don’t want to hear an excuse that’s she’s young or inexperienced as I’ve read on other reviews . She’s so into her phone she barely raises her eyes to make eye contact to answer questions. and I saw her lounging in a room while housekeeping was cleaning and she’s laying on a fresh bed in her outside clothes ! Insanity . I had to go straight to Michele to get things figured out . As far as showers, the hot water might last 2 minutes if you’re lucky . I honestly couldn’t wait to leave and checkout . Id avoid C4 bungalow if you can until it’s been sprayed down. Also attached are videos of bed bugs which the owner thought the room didn’t have but they did. Much better places to stay and still affordable .

I’m so sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us. In rainy seasons ants sometimes come into the cabins. Usually guests tell us and we just spray out and they are gone. Bed bugs are something completely different. Many years ago we had bed bugs in one of the cabins, and it wasn’t cabin 4, and we had to close it down for 2 months in order to get rid of them. We all take bedbugs very seriously and know exactly how to look for them in a room. They hide around the mattress in the folds in the stitching. My husband and the cleaner both went into the cabin and found no sign of bedbugs. Honestly, if you spend a night with bed bugs, you come out covered in very nasty bites. We really do take any mention of bed bugs extremely seriously and I am confident that there are none in cabin 4. The cleaner assured me that she came in each day to take out the garbage but maybe she forgot one day and if so I apologise. Seeing as you feel I should have got rid of my receptionist a long time ago I will be honest with you. I have run Hotel Chillies for 25 years now and I must admit that finding a good receptionist is quite a challenge. Jayda is honest, comes in every day on time, gets on well with other staff members and gets all the accounts right. On the downside her attitude can sometimes not be good. In 25 years I have rarely ever found anyone that ticks all the boxes and if they do, they usually go on to work at a much bigger, fancier hotel. That’s the reality of owning a business on Roatan. I know that’s my problem and not yours but I just wanted to tell you why Jayda is still working for me. Again I apologise that your stay was less than perfect. Best wishes for happier travels.

I stayed for 11 days and loved every minute of it. The location just across the road from the beach is perfect. I liked that it was a very easy walk to the main town area but far enough away from all the noise. As a solo traveler I chose to stay in one of the private cabins so I would have my own bathroom but access to a shared kitchen (fully stocked with plenty of plates/cups/utensils/cooking utensils but I ate out most of the time). The cabin has no A/C (choose the Mango House if A/C is a must) but I was perfectly comfortable with the ceiling fan and stand fan. It has two beds, toilet/shower/sink, towels/sheets, and a porch with two chairs and a hammock--perfect for the down time just before dinner or in the early morning. The cabins are set behind the main building just up a winding stone path into a very pretty jungle-ly garden area. While you can hear Sundowners a bit across the street if they have live music once that ends (usually around 10pm) it is very quiet and I slept well every night. And no need to head out for brekkie in the morning! They have a little restaurant on the property called Yahongreh, where you can order baleadas, fruit, granola, pancakes, juice, smoothies, etc. (they are open 7a-2p every day except Monday). If you are a diver (like me) Native Sons is on the property and an excellent company to dive with. Just sign up the day before and show up 30 mins before your first dive to get kitted up. I will definitely go back to Roatan and will stay here again!

I'm so sorry that our receptionist was not very friendly. She is young and this is her first job and I am trying to train her to be friendlier with our guests. She really needs the job but it's a work in progress. She is an English speaking islander so I don't think that the language was the issue. I'm happy that the rest of your stay was good.

Hotel Chillies is a great place to stay and couldn’t be better located. Across from the beach and fun outdoor bar, the hotel has a variety of rooms, cafe and scuba school onsite. The family-run business is warm and accommodating. As a female traveling alone, I felt safe and comfortable. I took the open water certification class with Native Sons and saw amazing ocean life along the reef, just a short boat ride from Chillies. Very memorable vacation!
