Guava Grove Villas and resort is an excellent place to stay if you are looking for a quiet respite away from the noise of the city, but close enough to go out and explore. Cheryl, the owner is such a wonderful personable host whom I could sit and chat with for hours, which infact we did. I arrived from a dive trip to Guava Grove for a one night stay to wait for my flight, and it was as if Cheryl read my mind. I arrived, she greeted me and then invited me to go snorkeling with her, as I had all my dive equipment with me. Guava Grove was designed and built all by Cheryl, she has transformed this plot of land into her own quiet garden and bird sanctuary. Guava Grove also features a vast menu that is all local organic food with a full bar, and a pool that is deep enough to dive and shallow enough to swim up to the bar and snack. If a quiet escape that is rightfully priced is what you are looking for while staying in Roatán, this is your place. Make sure to say hello to Cheryl's two cats roaming around the property, though I am sure they will find you first! I will be sure to come back and stay with Cheryl again.

Cheryl and her staff were exceptionally kind, the amenities available on-site were a million times better than any other lodging we booked on Roatan or Utila, and it was very affordable and easy to get to all the businesses in West End with a quick, very cheap taxi. I doubt you'll find another place in Central America with its own septic system and potable tap water! What luxury! And the swim-up bar?! OMG it is a true dream to linger on a barstool with water up to your waist and shade protecting you from the intense sun.

I the pleasure of staying at Guava Grove Villa on a resent visit to Roatan. Cheryl, the owner/hostess, made me feel like I was a welcomed family member. I was blown away by all the flora and fruit trees and will forever remember the scent of the guava. I especially loved the sound of the rain dropping on the roof top. My room was very clean and had all the amenities. Cheryl cooked a delicious breakfast with fresh mango juice then made suggestions of where to visit to enjoy the island. I definitely will be back and am looking forward to relaxing at the swim up bar in the pool. Ken R. from Texas

Wow, what can I say, stayed at Guava Grove and was blown away. Three (3) min and 30 limps (about $1) from the West End when/if you feel like partying, and always a quick trip to West Bay. It's not just a perfect location but a perfect place to unpack all that baggage. So Tranquil, the ground are meticulously maintained, the swim up bar/grill is a constant crowd pleaser. Great food, super staff, good prices. The owner is all about quality and fun, and really easy to work with. Look I could have stayed anywhere for the month I was in Roatan, saw all the other places, but this is my “official” home away from home. I asked Cheryl (the owner) “Where on earth could you posibbly go on vacation that wouldn’t be a disappointment? After actually living here”.Guava Grove IS that Great! If you get a chance book fast, take it. You will love it!!! Best on the island.

Hubby and I visited Guava Grill at Guava Grove Villas and Resort for lunch on a late Sunday afternoon. Cheryl, the owner, graciously allowed our dog to sit with us so we selected a table away from other patrons (although the tables are already spaced for social distancing). We decided to visit based on the sign at the street advertising the chicken and waffle special. You’ll easily find the resort and restaurant after a short drive off the main street. Parking is available near the restaurant and pool area. Guava Grill is the resort’s restaurant and it’s also open to visitors. A purchase of food or alcohol allows access to the pool area. The pool area was well maintained and the swim-up bar looked so enticing! The dining area is open-air under a covered roof that provided shade and is surrounded by beautiful flowers. The entire grounds are lovely and I enjoyed the flowers. I had the chicken and waffle special and fries and hubby had a cheeseburger. Both were delicious with ample portions. We also had drinks, with and without alcohol. The banana smoothies were amazing! They also offered water for our dog, which was very thoughtful. The bill came to $40USD. The prices are listed in Lempira, for example, the chicken and waffles were L250 or about $10USD, but the staff will provide USD prices if you aren’t sure. They accepted cash and credit cards. The owner, Cheryl, was a pleasure to talk with about life on the island and life in general. She takes genuine pride in her resort and ensures that the day-to-day operations will create a perfect experience for her guests and visitors. We talked with a repeat guest who spoke very highly of his experiences staying at the resort for many years. We also met Alex, Cheryl’s right-hand-man. He served our food and made our drinks and was a pleasure to talk with. We enjoyed the food, company, and relaxed atmosphere of Guava Grill and highly recommend it. I hope you enjoy the photos I shared. Be sure to read the reviews of my other Roatan adventures and see pics of my island pup! *Thank you for reading my review! Please click the “thumbs-up” below. :)
