Me and my friend stayed here a few nights ago while we were traveling through the area. The owner is amazing and went out of his way to help us. I would recommend to all travelers! Just be aware the kitchen does take some time to prep food (but it is worth the wait).

My wife and I stayed in a private room for a couple of nights. It's great
- Excellent location, 10 mins walk to Semuc Champy
- Offers free pickups from Lanquin between 10am and 10pm; however, the drop-off is Q25 per person
- Clean rooms. However, we had ants attacking our room

Thank you so much for your elaborate review! Let me explain your various points; Our transport service between Lanquin and Greengo's is Q 25 pp. However, we offer a free pick-up to guests that stay a minimum of two nights. If you buy your onward shuttle ticket with us, the ride to Lanquin will be included in the price. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't get a blanket. We have blankets available for every guest, without any extra cost. On cold days, we will automatically give blankets to everyone who's checking in, but when it's warm, we don't always think about it. Unfortunately, you didn't ask if we had one and could've had a better night's sleep. About the music at night; We don't consider ourselves to be a party hostel, but we do try to create a sociable vibe and to be a place for travellers to meet and hang out together. We have music going until 11 pm, after which the volume gets turned down. The bar closes between 11.30 pm and midnight every night and after that, there is no electricity until the morning, so there is no noise at all. Our payment system for the bar and restaurant might seem a little confusing at first, but most guests appreciate the fact that they know exactly what they're spending, unlike the tab systems in most places. Have a wonderful trip and thanks again for taking the time to write a review!

Stayed at Greengo’s Hotel for 3 nights - 2 in a private room and one in a dorm.

The Good:

Private room was very nice, an upstairs nook with a lot of space. However, the slightest movement from anyone below shook the foundations. Dorm room was a similar setup, but with one doubl

Hi and thank you for your review! We're happy to hear that you enjoyed your overall stay with us. About the food allergies; Our great menu has various options for any special diet ( Vegan, gluten intolerance, lactose intolerance, etc), besides, we can always make some changes to other dishes. You're talking about our hummus plate, that normally comes with pita bread. We can always replace the pita with a salad or corn tortillas. However, other sides, like fries or corn chips are portioned for their respective dishes and can not replace a pita bread. You could've ordered an extra plate of fries or nachos. 'Beer pong' is a game named after the drink for a reason and the price for the winners is, guess what? More beer.. However, we've never made any issue about replacing the beer. Not just for other alcoholic drinks, also for sodas when people don't drink. I remember clearly telling you that there was no issue at all to substitute the beer for a drink of your choice. About the starting time of the game you have a point; The game was supposed to start at around 9 pm, but didn't start until about 11 pm. We had lots of guests coming in late who still wanted dinner. We accommodated them and moved the game to a little later. If it would've been you arriving later than planned, without having eaten anything, would you have been happy to be told that you couldn't have dinner, because we were starting a beer pong tournament? Besides that we needed the restaurant space for the tournament, many of the new arrivals also wanted to join in the game. I believe that by making the choice to start later, we actually tried to consider most guest's interests instead of that of a few. Have a great trip and thank you for your review!

Hi Sarah, thank you for your review! We're happy to hear that you noticed the effort we put into our restaurant, the design of the place and having a welcoming and happy team. The vibe in our bar very much depends on our guests. Generally, you will find a chilled, sociable vibe, but if people feel like a party, we're happy to make that happen too. On most nights people just hang out together, play cards or a game and get to know the other travellers. Occasionally, we organize a quiet movie- or games night, but also extreme Jenga, beer pong or other 'party' activity. It all depends on the crowd. However, the bar always closes before midnight to assure that our guests will get a good night's sleep. Unfortunately, the vibe you encountered during your stay was not the one you were looking for at the time. Enjoy the rest of your travels!

This place is incredible. The shackshuka is the best I have had inside or outside Israel, and the views are equally incredible. Its just a short walk to everything you might need in in Semuc and a fantastic place to both relax and go adventuring. To be honest the drive to get the
