Stayed here for two weird nights. The property seems to be massive but it got too creepy to explore it much. They have a pool but you have to pay extra to use it. They have a lovely outdoor bar area and deck but there never seemed anyone to staff it. Rooms were ok but the can of Raid on the nightstand did not inspire confidence.

Hotel staff run the gamut of mildly friendly to completely lost in the hospitality industry. Whole place had a really weird vibe about it. Lots of air conditioners in the building but they were never on. Halls were muggy and uncomfortable. Definitely made sure the door was locked.

They had a tennis court but the deck was a wreck. Maintenance is a challenge for the entire compound.

Not sure if it was at this hotel or someplace nearby but an all night party did keep me awake so sound proofing definitely not optimal. It was about 1/4 full.

Restaurant was ok. Toaster was missing parts so the toast was unevenly toasted. LOL. Things like that one has to deal with while there. Good for Ghana but not so great for the experienced, international traveler.

The reception on the first night was poor. The ladies at the reception were cold except one gentleman called Alex who was helpful despite all the complaints brought to him. We had to wait for an hour to be checked into a room after travelling all the way from Accra for about three hours. Myself and a colleague had to change our rooms after the first night. My door facing the balcony was old, rusty and unable to lock (making room for mosquitos to freely enter) and her air conditioner was not working. I guess management knows about it so they have provided Raid Insecticide Spray for the rooms. The telephone in the room was not functional and I had to walk all the way to the reception to make a request. The bathroom had rusted pipes, and the bathtub door was faulty. I guess because of the beach waves (which calls for constant renovation). Unfortunately, my personal towel was also taken by a cleaner without my permission and I had to wait for hours to recover it.

The conference package was however okay and the conference room was spacious. I also had my two blouses ironed for free.

Personally, I will not recommend this hotel to you until they make an effort to renovate.

We had business in Cape Coast and Elmina. The hotel was suggested by our office. The room was adequate and close to the business we had. The facility is a bit worn but for the price it was acceptable.

We came to the Elmina beach resort hungry from touring the Cape Coast and Elmina Castle and we expected our food to be served after 10 minutes from placing the order. It's beautiful architecture and the sea breeze. That notwithstanding, we were excited for our last destination because we could finally rest and have a whole meal while enjoying the sea breeze.

We stopped here after visiting Elmina Castle (refer to my write up about the castle - I think it was upfront and a fair review).

I wasn't impressed by the façade of the hotel resort but how wrong could I be? looks can be deceiving!. We only stopped for lunch after visiting the castle and was pleasantly surprised with what we'd found. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

You never know what the quality of the food is like until it comes. Now whenever Lobster appears on the menu I always become weary but I needn't have been worried with this place. @ £17 for x6 lobster tails with salad and fries! what a bloody bargain? & there was me cautious ordering the chicken kebabs which were also delicious.

One of the others had snapper! also delicious, I just couldn't fault this place, the exterior doesn't do this place justice but that's the magic. We had to bag the lobster up for takeaway as the food we ordered filled everyone up.

I would definitely return here for the food itself. The scenery wasn't bad if you'd asked to eat outside before the sea, the atmosphere was great, well worthy of the experience. Don't be put off by the exterior, the food itself more than makes up for it in my view.

Located directly on the seaside the view of the ocean is magnificent, and the music of the breaking waves determine the atmosphere. Equipped with a tennis court, gym, squash and pool it is an ideal place for active travelers. The lobby is nicely decorated by carved wooden panels. The restaurant provides tasty seafood. The rooms are clean, but they are quite complicated to reach. The whole hotel would benefit from a restauration, but this seems to be a problem all over Ghana.

This place is very nasty. For 800gh a night it’s not worth it. I stayed in room 116 and water leaked all over the bathroom floor into the bedroom after I took a shower. Do not waste ur money. U are better off staying at a cheaper place. Zero star if I could. If u are looking for a place to stay, please stay aware from this place. I had to tell the manager the place needs work and she agreed with me. I am writing this review so that consumers will know not to book this expensive yet dirty hotel. There is nothing at this place that is worth the price. Just stay away

I doubt there is a worse hotel than this. If I could give it negative stars I would. The AC didn’t work. The room smelled musty. They provided 1 towel for 2 people, no hand towels, no hand tissue. The tap didn’t work. They don’t provide irons, the laundry will iron for you for a fee. The dinner was barely palatable and they charge extra for water.

There are so many things I can say about this hotel and these are just a few; pillows were disgusting, the bathtubs were cracked, the hotel had a bad smell, the food was horrible, and the staff made us feel very uncomfortable with their flirty advances, there were live wires on the beds that shocked us, the water was consistently brown and broke us out, there were roaches everywhere and the hotel looked as if it was falling apart. the general experience was just horrible. I don't think I can ever go back to that hotel again.

We were booked at the Coconut Grove Beach Hotel in Elmina, and after experiencing poor service and no water to the room for 2 days, we went in search of another place to stay and found the Elmina Beach Resort. Although we were not staying there, the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We were given a wonderful tour of the resort. Currently the fish pond is empty as they are trying to fill a leak, but will look beautiful when up and running. The tennis courts and basketball courts are in good shape, they even have an indoor squash court and viewing stands. A nice pool area overlooks the ocean. The only downfall would be if you MUST have an ocean to swim in, as the shore is all rocky here. The restaurant served a wonderful menu at comparable prices to other hotel restaurants. I ordered a BLT, and when the waiter returned with apologies that there was no bacon, I said that it was OK, just give me the sandwhich without the bacon. A nice tomato, lettuce and onion sandwich and fries arrived. Upon presentation of the bill, the waiter pointed out that the chef was sorry they did not have any bacon, so they did not charge me for my lunch - something they certainly did not have to do...a classy touch. The rooms are nice and the prices cheaper than the Coconut Beach. They arranged to have a private driver take us to the Cape Coast Castle, which was totally not necessary but they insisted. He waited for us and returned us to our hotel in Elmina. If they treat visitors this way, I can only imagine how well they would treat their guests!
