Set against a backdrop of convenience, Lemon Beach Resort Elmina is acclaimed for its cleanliness, with guests often commending the pristine conditions of both rooms and public spaces. The hotel's serene atmosphere and family-friendly vibe are a hit, though some guests suggest a tune-up for noisy air conditioners and a rethink of bathroom designs. While the value is generally appreciated, considering the affordable dining options and commendable service, attention is drawn to extra travel costs. Amenities like the pool and beachfront receive plaudits, though a few modern upgrades are desired.

As part of our individual Ghana trip, we spent five days at the Lemon Beach Resort.

Located directly on the beach, this resort offers both round huts in the local style and rooms in the main building. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The complex, including the pool, is very well maintained. Cold drinks are obligatory. Local and international dishes are always freshly prepared. The staff is very friendly and, as is well known, very hospitable.

The number of overnight guests was manageable, so that a) you had peace and quiet and b) you could always get a lounger by the pool.

All in all, a very high standard for Ghana. The price of 150 USD for a double room with a balcony and sea view including breakfast is absolutely reasonable.

In the nearby area, we recommend visiting Cape Coast with various sights and a typical African market.

We will definitely be back.

Initially came here for lunch as we were staying at a nearby property which was extremely quiet and had quite limited dinner offerings.
Was so impressed with the dining room and vibrancy of the resort that we checked in the next day, initially for 1 night and then extended it by another night.
The first night was in an “African “ Lodge, which was really quirky, almost circular with high ceilings with reed ceilings.
The room was really comfortable but could have done with electric sockets closer to the beds.
Shower pressure was great as was the AC.
Pool was lovely.
Breakfast is a nice enough buffet, but please if offering pancakes have maple syrup on offer and not jam.
Also how about investing in an electric toaster rather than the hot plate griddle which takes for ever to make toast, which is then stored in a lidded container, so the toast goes soggy.

The 2nd night was in a ground floor modern room, our initial room was at the end of the block, but was noisy as it had at least 5 AC plants on its exterior wall.
When I complained about the intolerable noise I was moved to a room 3 along, which was fine.
The room was modern as was the bathroom, although I couldn’t for the life of me understand why the WC was fixed to the floor, one foot in front of the wall, which meant it protruded well into the walking area of the bathroom and obscured your entry into the room.
Staff were really friendly and helpful in the restaurant and also the Senior managers who have a can do attitude and are helpful and very professional.
Overall I really enjoyed my stay, so much so, I’m thinking of returning again in a few weeks.

The resort overlooks the Sea ( Gulf of Guinea), although a reasonably accessible part of the beach is a little over 1.5Km away.

The hotel was clean. Staff was welcoming, nice, friendly and accommodating. When we arrived, staff was informative and the first thing they did was gave us an orientation which was excellent in my book. Shout out to Sammie, one of the Managers…he was very nice , friendly and professional Shout out to Black who saw me struggling with my bags when I was leaving and offered to help me without hesitation even though that wasn’t his job. He worked in the restaurant where he was a really great , courteous, professional making sure we were okay at all times while dining. Even when I asked him a hundred questions about the menu, he never lost his patience.

Now the reason for my four star rating……. George the owners father is in charge of Transportation. He is the rudest, most disrespectful person I have ever met in my life. He came in the restaurant while we were dining and screamed at the top of his voice at my family member in front of other guests because she voiced her opinion that he came to pick us up from the airport in a car built for two people and we were a party of four. We were stuffed in there like sardines. And that is the God’s honest truth. He will be the cause of loss of business due to his unprofessional, disgusting, demeaning attitude. Then he went so far as to tell other drivers to charge us three times the price to go back to the airport. Bad business practice.

Aside from George I loved the outside rooms and I loved the vibe of the hotel. It was worth the trip from the USA.

I want to keep this fabulous resort a secret so there will always be room for my family to enjoy what has become our favorite spot in this area and beyond. This is our second stay in two years and I have been coming to Ghana every year for the last 20 years and have saltwater in many resorts, and hotels. First the concierge skills of Japhet made sure we enjoyed all the local culture we could fit into our time including the best tour guide who he connected us with just before closing for Elmina Castle. It is a sobering experience but it was my third time so i had others to compare with and this was thoughtful and detailed and he had enough to really help the family reflect and our entire family family learned something new. Atsu, Cedi, and Mike were very attentive and we had a combination of mes in the restaurant and in our room. Our maticulous housekeepers Maggie and Silvia were also a delight. The pool cleaner transformed the pool after a big group got in right after playing volleyball in the sand. It was sparkling clean again in no time. The rooms and the ambience are just right for a family but it is clear couples and small groups of adult have a good time there as well. There are a mix of customers, and each time there was at least one nice family we ended up connecting with. Aside from the pool there are a number of other activities that they make available to you either bringing entertainment to you or taking you a stone throw away for other activities like a massage.

We've stayed at the Lemon Beach Resort for 6 days and our time there has been perfect. It's located beautifully at the beach front and the entire Resort is so well designed - a place where you can truly calm down, whether it's by the pool, in the chalets or by the bar for a drink. The staff is very attentive, the food amazing (it offers both Ghanaian and international cuisine) and whatever we needed, we were always helped out quickly. Given the location, you can experience Elmina and its surroundings within walking distance and it also offers the opportunity to make day trips to Cape Coast, the Kakum national park and many more.
We can therefore only highly recommend the Lemon Beach Resort and will be back for sure!

So this place is a real dream come true - a perfect combination out of relaxation and offered tours that are really fantastic. We stayed at Lemon at the end of our round trip through Ghana and this might be the best hotel in the whole country. David and Kofi and their families and their team make this place so special.

The food is great, a great mix out of local dishes and international dishes is offered at the restaurant and the fish/lobster/pawns are amazing and not to beat when it comes to value for money.

The bungalows are super nice and clean, you can listen to the waves of the ocean while falling asleep and the place is totally safe. Also, they offer great trips like boat trips, bike rides through the city and other options, if you are interested in getting to know local life without a lot of other tourists this is the place to be.

We will definitely come back and we can warmely recommend this place to anyone☺️

It was a cozy, clean and friendly place to spend a few days between Christmas and New Years with my husband and young son. They have a nice pool and children’s pool, the food is good and they have nice activities, some free and others at an extra charge. There is a short walk to the beach next door due to a government beach restoration project, but the beach was pristine and gorgeous! The highlight was an evening dance performance and drum session that came to perform the Friday before NYE.

The room was clean and smelled like a sweet lemon scent when walked in. Kwame greeted us when we checked in and Issac and Jeff helped us check out. They, along with the entire restaurant and house cleaning staff were so friendly and helpful.

My only suggestion is that they replace the giant trampoline because it’s worn out and make the playground jungle gym more sturdy. Also, be prepared for a wait at the restaurant if a large tour group is eating because the kitchen staff will be stretched.

Everything else was great and I highly recommend staying here.

Lemon Beach Resort is a true paradise—beautiful, clean, and perfectly located with breathtaking views. The resort’s restaurant is offering delicious, fresh food that will leave you coming back for more. The owner is incredibly attentive, always ready with helpful recommendations for activities and excursions, and can even arrange trips to explore the area. The staff adds to the experience—Prince welcomes you with a warm, genuine smile every day, Richie makes the best drinks you’ll ever taste, and Black’s playful attempts at dancing bring plenty of laughter. If you are looking for a highlight of your trip, look no further. It’s a welcoming, fun, and relaxing place to stay, making it an unforgettable experience!

We found out about the Lemon Beach Resort in Elmina from my sister and her husband who work in Accra. As they told us the resort is run very well by a friendly staff who are amiable and willing to make our holiday experience enjoyable.

My family flew in from Addis Ababa and then took the three hour drive with a friendly driver who answered all of our questions about Ghana along the way.

The staff greeted us openly on our arrival, almost intuitively understanding we were knackered from the long drive. After asking our names once, they all knew who we were for the remainder of our stay, a very nice attention to detail I haven't seen in many places in my travels.

The ambiance was relaxed and comfortable during our stay. I loved how the staff added these little spinning fans at the dining tables that kept the flies at bay during our meals. Again, a subtle touch, but one that made all the difference.

The food fare was wonderful! Our meals were always served in a timely fashion and they were always satisfying.

The Lemon Beach Resort has created a perfect down to earth locale that is the right location for anyone looking for a relaxed place to stay that serves as an ideal hub for the sites and nearby attractions. We would highly recommend it to anyone in the Elmina area.

Kofi and the Lemons team have created a wonderful hideout next to Elmina village.

We stayed at the Lemon Beach Resort for a week and had a pleasant and relaxing time. From the first welcome to checkout everything was great! Kofi and all the Lemons in the restaurant and the whole resort took care of the guests very personally, individually and professionally.

Our room was very spacious and clean, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom had a large shower. The room had air conditioning, a fridge and WiFi available.

The beach is 4min walk away but the poolside is perfect to take a swim and relax in the sun with a nice drink.
Their restaurant offers good variety on international and local kitchen for affordable prices. The complimentary breakfast is good.

We recommend a stroll through Elmina market and city with its historic and colorful buildings. Also the Batic workshop, where you learn how to create your own Batic design cloth in a very friendly environment. Other activities are available on request.

Medaase and will will be back!
