The place is run down. It may have started out nicely but it's in shambles now. The room had little mounds of dust from rotting wood. The shower head was green. There was dog poop in one of the couches in the gallery of the restaurant. The "buffet " breakfast is ghc 20.00 for a non-resident. I took my plate... More

The hotel and our stay were wonderful. The food was delicious and the staff was very helpful and kind. The rooms were well kept and clean. Plus, you can pet a crocodile. Which is pretty awesome. I would definitely recommend it if you're near Cape Coast.

Met Auntie Mary, the crocodile whisperer, but declined to pat even the small croc out basking in the sun. The food was fine, but slow coming. Would definitely recommend eating Ghanaian dishes rather than Western ones.

We popped in for lunch on the way back from Kakum National Park. Lunch was good, with a nice selection and affordable prices (one of the few places where I could use my credit card). We also went to see the local "tame" crocodiles that live in the pond. We did not stay over, so can't comment on accommodation.

Great outdoor activity for crocodile & bird watching. You can take a paddle boat tour on the lake to get a closer experience with this crocs as well for very little fee. Combine this tour with a visit to the Kakum national park bcos it's in the same town. All fun stuffs for nature lovers

Didn't stay at the hotel but looked at the crocs and birds. We watched the lady feed the crocs and many school children were also there. The lady was cautious and entertaining. An Ok place to visit. Nothing spectacular though.

Situated on the way to Kakum Canopy walkway. Unfortunately the road to the place was terrible. The environment is quiet and serene. Did not sleep there but had a lunch buffet there. The food wasn't bad but there is room for improvement. If you ask for anything they have to seek approval from the manager first making service a bit... More

Hans Cottage was founded by a swiss man time ago. At some point in time, it was transferred to an african local owner. Only what´s left of the original investment is there, because its clear that no mantenance or any kind of refurbishment has been undertaken in ages. Decaying is the word. Everything is old, dirty, declining and worn down. Specially... More

There are plenty of places to stay in and around Cape Coast but this is a bit different! Hans Cottage Botel is situated around an artificial lake with crocodiles and islands full of birds, much of it built on stilts over the lake. There's a good choice of rooms - all the A/C were booked when I turned up but... More

I actually quite liked this accommodation; very basic as you would expect but the pool is nice, restaurant and it even has crocodiles which you can have a photo with for 1 Cedi. The food isn't great however and there's isn't too much else nearby. Beware that you need to turn the heat switch on in the bathroom for the... More
