Never, in all of the places I've stayed all over the world, have I ever felt so unwelcome and unwanted. Thankfully we were only booked for one night, otherwise we would have had to leave. Upon arrival, the guy on reception (the son of the owner) couldn't even make eye contact with us, let alone exchange a greeting. Upon being... More

I have been to the Biriwa Beach Hotel many, many times. I have stayed there, I have had lunch there, and I have visited and paid to use the pool. Often it is difficult to get any service at all. You might wait 10 minutes or 30 for just a bottle of beer. Food is even less predictable. And, no... More

I like the place, and I stop by very often. The food is ok though they often don't have the items from german menu. Staff is friendly, food can be somehow slow, but what I don't like is the number of flies and ants when you eat. Seems like spraying don't happens to often. If you manage the ants and... More

I enjoyed my stay in this hotel. I arrived with a group of 12 other teachers on an exchange from the US to Ghana. We took up all 7 of their rooms. The woman who booked our lodging assured us that we would have constant wifi and uninterrupted electricity because they had a generator. While they did have a generator, the... More

I had the luck to spend 2 days here amongst these beautiful surroundings the place is spotlessly clean and well kept. The room was well decorated with ample space and stunning views. The staff at reception and the bar and restaurant very friendly and the food great, you should try the grilled lobsters. I just lay by the pool watching... More

A nice way to wind down at the end of our holiday before leaving Ghana. The hotel is perched on top of a hill looking down on to a beach, so there is a nice breeze. The actual beach (accessible via steps from the hotel) has been neglected quite a bit and needs a big clean up. The pool is... More

What set this place apart for us was the owners Claudia and her son Nino who were there all the time and really cared. If you've traveled in Ghana you know this is rare and staff are often quite rude and incapable of helping. Not the case here, our comfort was obviously a priority for them. The wait staff and... Biriwa Beach Hotel really is a small piece of heaven. With its beautiful views, clean air, delicious food, comfortable beds, and quiet setting, I honestly don't know what more one could want. As a Ghanaian who spends a lot of time abroad, I can tell you that this hotel is very much on par with boutique properties in seaside locales... More

We stayed for one night in December 14. The "welcome" was perfunctory. When compared with universal superb meeting and greeting in Namibia (a smile, a cold drink, a receptionist who finds you marginally more interesting than the television ....) it was shabby. We asked for an upgrade to one of the front rooms which was granted but we didn't discover... More

My wife and I stayed at the Biriwa Beach Hotel in April 2006. Claudia, the owner, and all of the staff were magnificent! We traveled to Ghana (my homeland) to be married on a beach near Elmina. We chose Biriwa Beach Hotel as the location for our wedding because of the secluded beach, close proximity to the castles/museums/restaurants of Cape... More
