I was pleasantly surprised when after 15 minutes of a rough road, we arrived at this beach oasis, with a hearty greeting from the lodge’s manager. This place was reccomended by my tour company and I wouldn’t have found it otherwise. There are palm trees everywhere, beautiful clean lodges (I had an issue with the toilet in my first room and was promptly moved to another), the sound of the waves lull you to sleep but the lodges are far enough back from the water that it doesn’t disturb you and prevent sleeping. AC was fantastic. Wi-fi was very slow but the 3G network out there was good enough intermittently (and honestly it was nice to disconnect). Food was good. They have a great bar selection including Malibu to get your pineapple and Malibu on the beach on. If you need a day to just unplug, this might be it. I also appreciated how kind the owners were and they even helped me take some pictures of myself since I was travelling solo!

In November of 2019, my aunt, sister and I stayed at this resort and were blown away by the incredible hospitality. The location is stunning and rejuvenating. The staff made us feel so welcome. This place truly made our stay in Ghana unforgettable. Would definitely stay here again!

Stayed three nights in this beautiful beach resort. White sands, palm trees and thatched huts to sit under enjoying the scenery over a lovely drink. Staff are wonderful and could not be more helpful. Room air-conditioned and comfortable. Quite an adventure getting there down a very bumpy pot holed road. Worth the effort. Food was delicious.

What a delightful setting. Idyllic. Staff are fabulous, helpful and friendly. Golden sands. Sit on the beach and watch the sun set, the moon rise snd fishing boats come in. Not many tourists. Probably because it is quite out of the way and road access is terrible. Food is good. AND they have some decent wine. Internet WIFI is only available sitting close to the bar. You don't get wifi in your room. Beds are generous in size but hard as a rock to sleep on. No mosquito nets provided, but we didn't have too much of a problem. Rooms are clean. Flushing toilets ...always a bonus in Ghana. Someone seriously needs to do something about the road. It is treacherous and close to being impassible. potholes are more like craters. There is a talented seamstress in the village if you have fabric to be made up.

We thoroughly enjoyed visit to the Brenu Beach Lodge. Agnes and her staff are always available to ensure that you are taken well care off. The rooms at the lodge are very clean and comfortable. The restaurant has good food, consisting of fresh seafood and local fruits and vegetables. The beach is cleaned daily, with lots of places to sit and enjoy watching the ocean and sky. There is a guard available to ensure that you and your kids are safe. Please note, Brenu does not accept credit cards, so bring your cash. We definitely intend to come back in the near future!!

I reached that beautiful place after a busy trip with two friends of mine. We stayed 2 nights in October, in two different bungalows. Each bungalow has two seperate appartments which were clean, spacious and well furnished. I liked the small patio in front of the bungalow where I sat in the morning and saw the sea between the palm trees. It wasn't needed then but the air conditioning worked fine. The sandy beach is terrific and not crowded at all. The sea is rough and only for good swimmers. Due to the location we saw sunrise and sunset at the beach. The resort is at a side of a village which makes it a perfect place to relax. But what would this place be without "Mama Agnes"? Together with a motivated team, she is the soul of that place. Nothing like a bonfire with the stories of Mama Agnes! Besides, I can recommend the local food. Ask for a buffet if you are several guests. You can also have a european breakfast. I'd love to come back soon.

This hotel was a welcome break after 10days travelling around Ghana! The rooms were large and with good facilities (hot and powerful showers!!). The food was fantastic - we were provided a buffet with lots of options to suit everyone. WiFi only at the bar, but this gave a good excuse to spend most of the time out on the beach. All staff were friendly and chatty, and we all felt well catered for.

My stay at Brenu Beach Lodge was like being on a deserted island, away from everything, but with all the modern conveniences. The resort is about 30 minutes drive from Elmina and is next to the fishing/farming village of Brenu. During my visit, which was low season according to locals, there were almost no other tourists at the Resort (which was actually great in my opinion) and our only interaction with people were with the very gracious and hospitable Agnes, the Resort's proprietor and Abraham, the man in charge of running everything. The rooms at the resort are nothing fancy, but they have exactly everything you need to make the stay enjoyable, including a refrigerator to keep beers/champagne cool so that you could sip them during sunset on the front terrace of your chalet. The beach itself was absolutely beautiful and a total escape from reality. It's worth noting that the way the Resort has been designed means that you get beach views from almost anywhere, including the chalets. The food at the Resort was top (TOP) notch. This goes for the breakfast - which was limited in choice but really good (I loved the omelettes), as well as other larger menu items, such as the marinated lobster (definitely try this), and kebabs. This comes as no surprise as, I learned during my stay, that the Resort had actually started off as a restaurant by Agnes which became extremely successful. A few things to bear in mind: there is almost no WiFi throughout the Resort (this could be a good thing if you're looking for the total escape but perhaps bad for others). The WiFi that does exist is off a phone tether and therefore often disappears. If WiFi is important to you - get a data sim. Food takes a while to come out, and this is because it is a small resort, so order in advance. If you want to take your deserted island experience to the next level, ask Abraham to help you climb a coconut tree so you can cut down a coconut and enjoy it by the beach (maybe with a little shot of Malibu if you want). Lastly, the locals of Brenu Village are very friendly and will never harass you whilst you are at the resort (you see them walking across the beach from time to time). If you have extra luggage space - consider bringing some gifts for the locals (and children) as I am certain that these would be well appreciated. I am already looking forward to the next time I go to Ghana so I can relive my deserted island experience!

For anyone visiting Cape Coast and Elmina, it would be a real shame not to stay here. The hotel has an incredible, peaceful location on an amazing stretch of beach. I have travelled to many tropical beach destinations in the past, such as Hawaii, Seychelles and so on, but this is far and away the best beach for me. The hotel rooms are spotlessly clean with comfortable beds and acceptable bathrooms. There is no Wi-Fi, but who cares in a place like this - just enjoy being off-grid. You eat meals right on the beach and all the staff are very caring. So if you are visiting this area, save yourself some time and don't read any more endless reviews of other places, just book Brenu Beach Hotel!
