My wife and I have stayed at least 7 times in Villa Varosh. The owners/hosts are so kind, helpful and friendly. The rooms are always spotless and comfortable, and the location is ideal, in the heart of old town Ohrid where you'll enjoy walking on the cobblestone streets, close to artisan shops, restaurants and the lake. It's our favorite place to stay.

Welcome to Ohrid, Macedonia, a beautiful UNESCO town on Lake Ohrid, the largest lake in Europe.

Very impressed with our accommodation choices yet again! Very lucky we decided to stay for 10 days (we extended to one month), we are enjoying the peaceful nature of the village and being on the water again, the lakes views are magnificent, surrounded by snowcapped mountains.

Villa Varosh is a luxury guest house like no other, it is in the heart of the old town which is absolutely stunning, with the most breathtaking views and absolute luxury. Everything is on your doorstep, along with all the local must see attractions.

It feels like home and must be the first stay during our travels where we haven't left the apartment better equipped, they are setup with everything you could possibly need.

Branislav and Slavica are the most friendly of hosts, and nothing is too much, extremely responsive and always checking in to make sure you have everything you need.

During our month stay we have enjoyed three different rooms (total of six), the 'penthouse apartment', 'doubleroom with lakeview' and 'deluxe apartment'. They are all spotlessly clean with high quality furnishings, the lake view rooms are the most magical, with beautiful balconies to enjoy the views.

The penthouse apartment is our favourite and if we could stay longer we most definitely will, but as you can imagine it is very popular with travellers visiting. The views from every window, all day sun beaming in and very spacious, with a large private balcony, also perfect for home-cooked meals.

In addition to the outstanding accommodation, you are spoilt with a shared kitchen and dining room with access to free coffee (cappuccinos, lattes, etc) and cup-a-soups as you wish. There is also a collection of local wines to purchase.

The beautiful cleaning lady has also been kind enough to do our laundry as required, always returned nearly folded and ironed. She definitely deserves six stars for keeping the guesthouse immaculate.

After travelling through Montenegro and Albania, it's the small things, but Macedonia has a council and rubbish collection from homes, There is a green bin downstairs, all our other homes you have needed to take your rubbish to a nearby bin usually 1km away from the property. It's refreshing to be staying in a clean and immaculately maintained village, every one is very house proud.

We were also blessed to experience snowfall one morning during Spring, which was a very nice surprise to see the old city dusted in snow.

Everything! This is the most beautiful and comfortable hotel I ever stayed-in in Ohrid! Clean, comfortable, and modern. Very central location in the old city and extremely kind and helpful host! We HIGHLY recommend it. A lot of little extras you would never expect to find in a holiday apartment. From the moment the host came to assist us finding the parking, moving our stuff and check in, to the guest corner “Self Service Bistro” where we could serve ourselves coffee and tea. Worthy to mention, the very small details in the room that made our stay very comfortable, electric plugs everywhere for chargers etc, enough closets for our stuff, bigger fridge (not the usual minibar), space for luggage, personal belongings, safe. Hygiene at highest standards, always room is cleaned and tidy. I have been in Ohrid more than 100 times; this was the most beautiful place I have ever stayed. We recommend it for couples, young couples, families with kids, business trips.

Stayed here for 10 days end of Sept into October. rented the apt and an additional double room. The apartment and double room had great views facing the lake. The apt kitchen was equipped with a few amenities for cooking and cleaning as needed. the living room and bedrooms were also equipped with televisions and great satellite options.
The downside of this place, NO HOT WATER!!! We sent notice to the owner on multiple occasions but only got apologies and no solutions. The weather was starting to turn and hot showers were needed. The bathroom showers are oddly placed and water can not be contained properly while showering. The Villa carries a 4 star rating but our towels and bedding were hard and abrasive. I guess putting them in the dryer would cost too much money although we spent a pretty penny for our stay.
Also, behind the wall in the main bedroom of the apt was a constant dripping noise that could wake sleeping giants. Like clockwork every morning. We also notified the owner who apologized but offered no solution, seems to be a trend. While the rooms were noted as non smoking, there were people smoking in the Villa and random people sitting out front smoking and drinking coffee everyday. Strange to see locals hanging out in front of the villa.
In the end, we made a commitment to the area and stayed but left as soon as the sun came up. Please note: this is also a cash only establishment and they quote in euros even though they are not a EU country nor do the banks dispense euros. So you have to pay in Macedonian denar unless you carry 2,000€ on hand at all times.

Everything was absolutely perfect. Branislav made sure everything was great and it was. There is absolutely nothing I would add to the experience. Centrally located in old town, great views of the lake, great quality lodgings with care to every detail. I will definitely return (if they are not already booked out)

Vila Varosh was one of the best places I’ve ever stayed during my travels!
It’s 5m walk from the city center and all services: bars/restaurants/hair dressers are 1m away only.
My room had lake view, room size was kinda small however the space was very well used and decorated, incredibly clean and comfortable and the whole hotel had an amazing light clean scent.
Staff was incredibly helpful and nice always available to assist guests with all requests and they also have a shared room with free soup and coffee.
Totally recommend this place if you’re considering Ohrid!

I had a quick soujourn into Ohrid to attend two concerts during the Ohrid Summer festival. There were four of us, me, a local recently returned and three Bulgarians eager to experience this treasure of a city. The first thing that strikes you about the villa is how immaculately clean it is. You come through a gate (you need to get your compass out to find it, but we will not hold that against them). The owner greeted us and we were escorted to room 203, the luxury apartment (the penthouse was sadly, occupied). It is a great 2 room space, very modern, comfortably furnished, with an aesthetic one would not normally associate with the Balkans. Top notch furniture, a very comfortable bed and even the sofa bed was great (the boy and I slept on it, both rather hefty of frame). It is 20m from St.Sofia, one of the most prized churches in the Balkans and about 300m from Dalga, the best restaurant in town. There is a very comfortable space with a coffee machine and all amenities and the apartment came fully equipped. I was so impressed, I am returning on the 28th and 29th for the boy's birthday. Do not hesitate to book this, it is a true gem! Top tip: Have a coffee on the balcony and enjoy the most charming view of the higgledy piggledy rooftops and a patch of lake.

Stayed here on our Balkan road trip in January 2023 and this place was very quaint, with beautiful views, right in the old town! Perfect host, who helped us before arrival with our questions, let us know where we can park for free and welcomed us very warmly. Our room was very beautiful with a big balcony and views onto the town and lake. Our host also recommended restaurants we can visit.

The room was lovely decoared, beds very comfortable, bathroom with shower and amazing prija ammenities (soap, shampoo, conditioner - amazing scents).

Free coffee and tea station is available in the common room 24/7. Tapwater is drinkable but there is also a cooler in the common area where you can tap water.

The location was perfect, a few steps and you are in the middle of the old town, with restaurants, sights and a few steps more and you're at the lake.

Highly recommend this place for a lovely getaway for couples.

Villa Varosh is a well-run and very comfortable place to stay during any visit to Ohrid.

The owners have thought of many welcoming features such as a coffee lounge with a great coffee machine and cookies. In our room, which had an excellent view of the Lake had luxurious toiletries in the bathrooms, slippers and a fridge along with tea and coffee making facilities.

We will highly recommend Villa Varosh to our friends and would like to thank our Hosts for their welcome.
