This hotel had plenty of shortcomings but I absolutely loved it . Beautiful view right on the lake . No safe , no tea/coffee , room quite compact .Had a balcony . Breakfast not up to much , however meals in the restaurant in the evening were good . Staff very friendly and helpful . So although the facilities were not that good I adored the hotel .

I also stayed here as part of Intrepid Travel, and this was my favorite hotel of the trip There was a karaoke bar next door which was noisy until midnight. Just bring earplugs. The views were great. The internet worked quite well, unlike many of the more budget hotels we used. The breakfast was better than most on the trip. It's really a full service place; they even did laundry (for a fee), and have a cafe attached with full espresso and alcohol bar. It's an easy walk into town. If they could just get the noise issue controlled, it would be an unbeatable choice for the price.

The restaurant enjoys a fantastic position overlooking the lake in Ohrid and has wonderful views.
The menu is similar to other restaurants in the area though the food was better than most.
However, despite the food, view and location we will not be visiting this restaurant again due to the awful service.
We were “greeted” by a surly older gentleman who made us feel like we were inconveniencing him throughout our meal despite there being no other customers.
Once the food arrived we ate quickly and left as soon as we could.
Such a shame that a place that has so much going for it provides such a poor dining experience

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The view from the balcony was magnificent.
We stayed two nights here. The hotel room was extremely small and very dated. The bathroom lighting was green and the light for the mirror did not work. A lot was broken. The walls were swabs of paper and the next door TV sounded like they were in our room. When those above showered or flushed, you almost thought it was in our room. Breakfast was not good and the first morning we had to wait for 25 minutes for our order. The staff was very friendly. So if it wasn't for the balcony and the friendly staff, the rating would have been even lower

To make sure you get a view over the lake make sure to request a room with balcony on the side facing towards the lake. Short walk along promenade to Ohrid old town where there is a good selection of restaurants and bars.

This is a family run hotel. It is comfortable and right on the lake side.The rooms are not high tech but are clean. There was a hairdryer but it didn't work. There are no tea or coffee making facilities. You receive 2 hours free wi-fi. Food, like most of the Balkans is mainly meat and cheese.

The location of the hotel is beautifull If you can get a Lake view room. The rooms are nice and we had no complaints with anything in the room except not enough points to charge cell phones . It was an easy and enjoyable stay. Also the restaurant below, very good breakfast

Greetings from Ohrid, Thank you for staying at the Royal View - Ohrid. Our location is one of the most ideal as you have noted, this is great when you plan to stay in Ohrid, with no need to travel by alternative transportation (almost everything is walking distance to our hotel). The hotel was built in 2007, when mobile phones (smart phones in particular) were still in a luxury item, and not long after almost everyone had at least one phone (now most guests own multiple devices) so this is an issue that is on our top list of things to implement upon our next renovation of the rooms.
