#1 of 3 hotels in Suchitoto
Travelers' Choice
A Boutique hotel in a 200 years old colonial house entirely restored and exquisitely decorated by its French owner. 6 rooms and suites very comfortable with A/C and big bathrooms, a French restaurant with A/C in the tops of El Salvador, bar, big pool in a beautiful tropical garden. Suchitoto is a gem in El Salvador: the only colonial city totally preserved overlooking the biggest lake of the country.

One the best boutique hotel I ever been, more of a historic site than a private mansion. Run by French -Salvadoran partner, it has beautiful garden, rooms all around, restaurant, pool, paintings, pieces of arts. Price Is a consequence of all this, do not expect any particular treatment.

I just picked the hotel based on the pictures and recommendations and it was a very good choice: the owner runs it as a boutique hotel with hundreds of small details and furniture from all over the world. All is maintained very well, we were in the Suite where also the Spanish queen was sleeping 2 years back, as the owner proudly told me. The suite is something very special, the room is more than 4 m high (12 ft), about 80 m2 in total and fully decorated with nice stuff (see the pictures). The terrace is beautiful early in the morning to watch a lot of colorful birds, the dinner we spent inside the restaurant to avoid mosquito bites. I recommend a 2 hours trip with a small boat to the bird island, incredible who many and how exotic birds you can observe! The hotel is a must if you should be in this area. City center is around the corner and all the town can be explored by walking around. If you want a really good coffee then go to Casa de Abuela (house of the grandmother) to get an espresso you will never forget.

Very nice colonial property. Good sized pool with towels provided, could use some more loungers. Some mosquitoes as well, if you are susceptible. Central location, same, comfortable rooms with actual hot water in showers. AC refreshing. Filtered drinking water provided in pitcher in room and container at bar. Two resident pugs give the place a homey feel. They don’t bother anyone but will accept pats if you are inclined.
