The service is what stands out at this ecolodge. Rooms are as rustic as they can get. Beds are a little hard, no AC but have the necessities. Meals here were fantastic! We gave the 2 chefs standing ovation at the end. Cocktail and dinners are at different location every night. You’d have to stay 11 nights to experience all of them. We were lucky to have the perfect conditions for dinner under the stars in the Great Sand Sea that was perfectly orchestrated, beautiful, delicious and with great service. Activities are swimming/floating in salt lake, nearby temple of the Oracle Alexander the Great visited, old town of Siwa etc. This was one of our top 5 travel experiences of all time.
What can I say!? I never thought such a place exists on earth! How could it be that simple yet that luxurious! The warm sun, clean air, serene atmosphere and surreal hospitality of the staff especially Mohamed Abd El Kader who strives to make your dreams come true! The stay exceeded my expectations but I don’t think it’s safe for young kids since it’s all lit with candles, my daughters are 12 and they considered this stay as one of the most memorable they had in their lives despite the fact there was no tv, electricity or WiFi!!!!!! Life time experience and worth every penny ❤️
One of the highlights in Siwa is to enjoy a lunch or dinner at the famous Adrere Amellal Ecolodge. We took our group of 16 PAX for a wonderful farewell candlelight dinner EVENT at this wonderful place, where the food, the service, and the attention to detail is certainly as expected. Thank you Adrere Amellal, and we look forward to bringing our next group not just for dinner but to stay. Ashraf ~El-Khadem Egyptian Express Travel
This hotel is an oasis in the middle of the desert. The food is just fantastic yet simple, but real organic taste. The ambience is like being in an Agatha Christie novel. There is no electricity so lighting at night is from candles everywhere, giving a filling of mystery and expectation. Do not expect luxury in decoration. Simple is the norm, but you have all the basics, and remember you are in the middle of the desert, where everything you think of is luxury already. The people that serves and everyone in general are very gentle and helpful even though very few of them knows to speak english.
I did not stay there, but paid a visit by a nice local guide. It was amazing experience to walk around the compound without anyone, except us and the guard. I was feeling as being in folk tales or another world. I really appreciate the way they built the lodge by local material and fitting design with the local style.
Me and my 2 colleagues were the only visitors we arrived at evening and we were impressed with the view We had a wonderful dinner in a stunning place then we had some drinks near a fire place The hotel has no electricity and all furniture are made from local natural materials Staff are very friendly specially Mohamed who can speak English The only minus point is they don't provide mosquito net at bedrooms where mosquitoes are wild (don't forget your mosquito repelant) The whole experience were breath taking
No wonder why pop stars and crown heads have visited this magical luxury ecological place! That's simply unique blend of nature, luxury, privacy and quietness Offering the great view on the oasis lake, at the foot step of the white mountains, the guests can enjoy an ultimate luxury treatment in this hotel. Rooms setup, Cuisine, activities , hotel designs matches the most unique feeling of luxury and nature. Don't forget to download app to identify the stars and planets as the air is so pure the stars will shine like anywhere else... Mosquito repellent is must While many will be wondering about safety being near of Libyan border , may these be in peace, as Siwa is considered as one of the most safest place of egypt . Regarding the access, we came by the brand new highway Cairo matrouh and then a fairly good road from matrouh to Siena. Takes 6 1/2 hours. Congrats to the one who created this hotel and to the one who run it !…
Siwa is one of only three places on earth (that I have been to) that I would describe as magical. Alongside Sintra in Portugal and Iceland, Siwa is a place where the sheer beauty and uniqueness of the area will leave your mouth agape. And when in such a place why not stay in accommodation that matches and even adds to the overall experience? Adrere Amellal certainly fits the magical description- the wonderful experience of slowly exploring the dramatic yet semi-secret labyrinth of rooms is only matched by the service of the local staff and surpassed by the incredible food made of local ingredients. If I were being picky I'd say that I would have liked to have seen more luxury in the rooms- they were a bit more rustic than we were expecting for a romantic getaway. There's no way I am letting that stop my review getting five stars though- hoping to return soon! …
It would be to return to Adrere Amellal Desert Ecolodge - but for a longer period than 3-nights. At my age in life, I want life's 'experiences' when I travel and that is precisely what I got in Siwa. Indeed, it is costly but when last did you check New York City prices? If you plan on going to Siwa to 'brag' and you stay at Adrere Amellal, you will be miserable for the remainder of your life. If on the other hand you are an intrepid traveler wanting life experiences, you will sing praises for the property for the remainder of your life. I have one regret - that I only stayed for 3-nights.
Class act! I did not stay at the hotel which is very expensive but did visit and had a memorable dinner there. It is really an out of this world experience. A true eco-lodge, the only light is from candles, only local materials used in building the place, vegetables grown in the hotel garden, etc. A great experience.
