We visited Steigenberger three years in a row for New Year Eve, to escape chilling European winter. On behalf of my family, I would like to thank all Steigenberger Alcazar staff for the great time and joy. The hotel is located right in front of the sandy beach. The room was spacious with a large comfortable bed. Kids had a cozy bunk bed; they loved minibar with a lot of snacks. We were impressed by high standards - everything was so clean, apartments, hotel area, pools, restaurants. We had excellent service in every restaurant we went to. There is a wide variety of bars and A la carte restaurants, even Italian. Children enjoyed the Kids Club. They had an entertaining program all day long and let us chill out savouring good wine at the warm swimming pool. All our friends who stayed at Steigenberger have only the best memories and can t wait to come back for more fun.

We were in Sharm El Sheik and we have chosen this hotel because lots of people told us this was the best place we could go in Sharm El Sheikh.. and that was completely true !! We had a great time there , thanks to Mr Mohamed Gelil that took care of us for the whole stay . The thing we love the most apart from the beautiful location and rooms and fine food was the staff . The staff made our stay unforgettable! For sure I will suggest to my friends and family to visit this hotel because we felt like at home . Thank you very much for this beautiful stay we are looking forward to come back soon to Steigenberger Alcazar

Just before corona I had the privilege of visiting Steigenberger Alcazar again in Nabq was looking forward to see my friends Mohamed and many others I left with a smile and a good relaxed holiday feeling home. At home already started looking for new holiday to Alcazar till October for months their was no news from our government but suprise September it’s possible we can return for now so iam crossing my fingers and booked for hope to see you all again for a good vacation

I'm sadly writing to report a serious complaint following our 4 night honeymoon to Egypt on 4th March 2020, returning on 8th March 2020. We got married on 29th February and booked a 4 night honeymoon to the wonderful resort of Steignberger Alcazar as it appeared to have everything we required. Beautiful weather, private swim up pool and not to far considering we could only make this break short as we have a 18 month old baby who we left with grandparents. As travellers to Egypt before we thought this would be perfect for what we needed, following our wonderful wedding. We arrived on the Wednesday evenining and was absolutly blown away with the helpful staff and beautful resort. We very much looked forward to waking up Thursday for our first full day in the sunshine. Thursday went well. We enjoyed the beautiful pools, weather and choice of food and drink. Friday then followed suite, whereby we then treated ourselves that morning to a massage each. However by Friday afternoon the begining of our DISASTER STRUCK...!!!! We both started to feel mildly unwell. However we had booked into the Italian restaurant on site, so decided to keep this reservation and enjoy a nice dinner. Here we both enjoyed a fillet steak, but shortly after we had to quickly exit and return to our room as the onset of diarrhea had set in. We returned to our room at approximately 10pm and over the next few hours disaster absolutly struck. We spent hours both vomiting and diarrhoea, before a high temperature then also hit us. At approximately 5am due to my hot sweats, continuous diarrhoea and vomitting my wife called for a doctor. The doctor arrived swiftly and did a very brief assessment. With a temperature of 104 F I was administered with a bacteria infection injection in. bum and told to take a cold bath. It was suspected I had food poisoning but the doctor would not confirm this, and stated he would give us a better idea in the morning and we were asked to attend the clinic at 11am. As the hours passed, my wife then began to suffer exactly the same symptons in terms of now too having a dangerously high temperature and sickness and diarrhoea. Together we attended the clinic at 11am and the doctor then prescribed us with 4 different types of medication and we were told to both take these. We were given a cocktail of tablets for sickness, diarrhoa, a bacterial infection antibotic and headache tablets. We were simply instructed to take these 3 times a day with food, however it was absolutly not possible to eat anything at this stage. The doctor refused to do a medical assessment on my wife, as stated this assessment would be another £175, and would be of no benefit as she presented the same symptoms. He also wouldn’t not give her an injection as he did me, because at this point he seemed satisfied the prescribed medication would be suffice. We were then asked to returned at 7pm for another check up. ( To us it felt more like the doctor didn’t want two reports of food poisoning at the hotel, so wouldn’t do the assessment or injection on my wife as this meant this would then be recorded alongside mine. ) We then spent all day Friday trying to rest. Between still vomiting and suffering severe diarrhoea we then later returning to the clinic again to see the same doctor. On this visit we were also met with the hotel manager and duty manager who appeared genuinely concerned. They discussed with us where we had eatten that previous day and what. They then offered to refund all our medical costs, because by this point we had spent over £300 on the medical assessment, the injection and the prescription. I was then given a further injection as my temperature still presented so high. The next day (Saturday) was again a day spent confined to our room due to the illness in bed. We had regular calls from the hotel manager offering us food, drink, laundry service (as we did embarrassingly have a few accidents in our clothing and bed sheets) So we really cant fault the staff, however nothing was going to help us feel well until the illness passed. As we approached Sunday, we were super concious around how unwell we still were and that we were flying home that evening. The manager offered to accomodate a car to take us to the airport so we could avoid the coach TUI transport and accomodated extending the room until 6pm for when we would be required to check out, again so we could spend another day in bed. (Day 3 of our 5 day honeymoon by this point) We texted our TUI rep to let him know we would not require the trasnfer, but we did not disclose why. The reason we did not disclose to any TUI rep about this, was becasue we were incredibly concious surrounding the developing carono virus situation globally and did not want t risk being prevented from flying home. we would not be aloud to fly. Something we were not prepared to risk, as we had to get back home for our baby. We checked out of our room that evening, and exchanged all personal details with the hotel manager so he could email us over the doctors report. He was incredibly apologetic, but sadly that doesnt repair the 3 out of 5 days we were bed bound due to such severe food poisoning. We also felt a sense of deniyal from the hotel manager, reference the sickness. They never once stated this was food poisoning and threw out all other possibly illness's it could be, including the suggestion we were sick before we arrived. We have since had this illness confimed by the Egyptian doctor report, which upsets us as we feel the hotel can't address the issue if they do not take self responsibility for it. On returning to the UK, we have been to our doctors whereby we have had stool samples tested, again confirming food poisoning, and we were immediately instructed to stop all medication we were prescribed in Egypt. The doctor has also needed to sign me off work. I have my certifcate for records. I am still yet to return to work as symptoms, although a lot milder now, still persist. As you can imagine with the current crisis around CV this is having a huge impact on my organisation as my wife and I are both Police Officers but have been to unwell to return to work yet. Now we really can't fault the hotel in terms of what they offer. It was beautiful and the staff we incredibly helpful. However as you can imagine the sickness from food poisoning absolutely ruined our whole trip. After all this was our honeymoon and we expected a really special 5 days away in luxury, feeling well enough to enjoy it. This trip cost us £1,500 and really was the last of our budget, and sadly feels totally wasted. We weren't able to enjoy the amenities , weather even that precious time together while suffering such symptoms for days. We have reported this through the TUI complaints procedure as understandably we want compensating so we can try and have another chance of a honeymoon in the near future (once TUI resumes its services). We had a very try short trip, due to work commitments and our 2 year old son at home and were sadly sick for 4 out of the 5 days due to the hotel. We have been on many TUI holidays over the years and really hope this bad experience doesn't taint our opinion for future choices. We have today had a response from TUI, however it doesn’t sound promising. We have therefore now referred our case to a private legal team who will do the case review and fight our case.

Additionally we are contracted with International company for hygiene and safety management and due to the high standard we are following and strong control The Steigenberger Alcazar Had been Awarded by the National Award 2019 from Cristal company meaning that we are the highest hotel in Egypt in following the highest standard for food & Pool safety. Many guests have their own perceptions about food borne illnesses, we cannot go by perceptions but we are always going by facts, therefore we have Offered your good self at 2 different occasions to conduct the tests while you are on resort at any medical facility of your choice as we are very transparent which was not welcomed by your good self. We have never received any comments about our food hygiene and we always praised by our clients for following the highest level of hygiene standards. What made my stay so amazing, was the staff. Everyone was so friendly! From the reception staff, to Achmed from the seafood restaurant, to the waiter from the Lebanese restaurant who spoke a bit of Dutch. My special thanks go to Mohamed El Dagla, the gym instructor. He gave me new exercises, had me reach my limits and move them. Every day, we had a training session with a personalized plan of exercises he made. One to one training, even when there were other people in the gym. Overall: the staff and location is what made my stay so impeccable. Thank you.
