We made the mistake of booking up and paying in Cairo for a 3 day stay in Farafra. Having arrived in an empty Badawiya hotel our family of 5 were placed in two rooms about 1km apart. There had been no communication between the Cairo office and the hotel in the oasis, who were themselves chaotically organised. It was not... More

We stayed here during a trip through the desert. The cost was about 40 euros. The rooms were clean but very quirky with the bed in a loft, the matteress on the floor and a mosquito net that wasn't attached very well. It all resulted in an uncomfortable nights sleep. For this price we had much better rooms in Egypt.... More

An excellent place to stay; very good and friendly service, the (luxury)rooms are fabulous; very romantic, beautifull doomed ceilings, small windows where the sunrays beam through, fireplace and a spacious bathroom. Also the budgetrooms are a good place to stay though. The swimmingpool is private, clean and pleasant.

An established hotel with a new wing consisting of a dozen roomy suites and recently renovated older rooms. Charming setting, peaceful location, decent food and clean rooms. Friendly people, excellent location from which to set out on a desert expedition to the magical White Desert by either 4-wheel drives or camels for a leisurely walk.

After the 500 km auto trip from Cairo, throught the desert, the Badawija hotel is a real oasis in the Farafra oasis. The traditional set-up with the light colored buildings, courtyards, sitting areas and swimming pools are very attractive. The palm trees and colorful flowers (bougainville) enhance the exotic atmosphere for the European traveler. My room (suite) was large and... More

I have camped in the desert twice before but I didn't know what to expect from an oasis hotel. Much like my experience with El Beshmo Lodge in Bawiti, I was pleasantly surprised with El Badawiya as well. They checked us in fairly quickly. The rooms are rather interesting - a base floor and then a loft-type area above. They're... More

Nice hotel considering it is in a remote oasis in the desert. Do not expect great luxury, but room was spacious and clean with everything you expect. No airco but a ceiling fan. Stayed 1 night while on a tour in Egypt. Rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious and staff was polite. Food was good, but do not expect exquisite... More

Entering that traditional mud-brick hotel was a very fascinating part of my trip. I was on a desert safari for a week, and came to rest at the hotel. It was very accomodating to my needs, as after a week in the desert, it's very hard sometimes to be faced with the technology and luxury of the city. It was... More
