The wonderful Hacienda Abraspungo is located at 2,754 metres above sea level and is surrounded by the magnificence of the Ecuadorian Andes. It is named after a glacial valley which is situated between the Chimborazo Volcano and Carihuairazo, in the exact centre of Ecuador.Hacienda Abraspungo, with its comfortable, charming and high level installations offers a personalized service in the ideal spot to enjoy the peace and beauty of the Andes. The architectural style found here offers the best of traditional colonial design often used in the ancestral mansions and haciendas of Ecuador. The Hacienda is adorned with old photographs and illustrations of Andean landscapes, which today constitutes as a testimony to eras gone by. The antiques on display in the social areas give a colonial flavour as well as a feel for the pre-Colombian cultures of the region. The visitor can truly appreciate the richness of the natural resources offered by the Chimborazo Province and Ecuador in general. Each room takes its name from one of the mountains of Ecuador. That mountain is shown in the photographs displayed within the interior design in the room. The owner’s commitment is to create a working environment which allows sustainable growth, enhancing positive image and generating an overall feeling of trust between the working force, the clients, and the community, aiming to become a point of reference within the tourist industry of Ecuador and the city of Riobamba.

beautiful grounds and interior architecture. Generous sized rooms, staff extremely helpful and courteous. Delicious and healthy dinner and breakfast with typical Ecuadorian dishes. High marks for this beautiful hacienda, top recommendation!

Stayed here as part of a cycling trip. Our room was spacious - and freezing. Reception organised a bloke to come and light the log burner in the room which made at the difference. There was little hot water so showers were short, and a nearby dog barked half the night which nearly made me homicidal. The surrounds and atmosphere are terrific.

This is a well-appointed and comfortable hotel located in a less than appealing town. We stayed here only one night following our hike in the Chimborazo Reserve. We headed out early the next morning to ride the Devil Nose Train. Our room was comfortable, with plenty of bedding – some of which we removed as it was too warm. Our room also had an electric heater for those cold evenings. The grounds were lovely, and we enjoyed a short stroll before dinner. We had no energy to search for a restaurant – and frankly, did not wish to leave the gated grounds (there was a security guard who manned the gate). The service at the restaurant was very attentive; however, I found the prices very inflated! We had our most expensive meal to date and the food was above average – two glasses of wine, 1 appetizer, 2 mains was $72. We asked and received an early breakfast – 5:00am as we had to be in Alausi in time to catch the 8:00am boarding of the Devil Nose Train. Overall, enjoyable stay for an evening.

We stayed here for one quick night on a tour organized by Andean Tour Company. The hotel and rooms are lovely on large grounds. Spotlessly clean rooms with very comfortable King sized bed. We were greeted by friendly staff with a welcome drink. They speak very good English. As we were only there a few hours we also had supper there. Supper was excellent. I had the chicken cordon bleat and my husband the seafood risotto, they were both excellent, Edison made us very welcome. I don’t think. You can go wrong if you book this lovely property. We were early starters but breakfast is served at 5 am.

We were in a guided tour and arrived at the hotel about 5pm. The staff were very welcoming and we were quickly shown to our room. The facilities were excellent and both dinner and breakfast were fantastic. There’s not much outside the hotel( that we saw in our walk) although I would definitely recommend staying and eating in the hotel.
