Decent rooms. Our room (No 2) had a comfortable bed, shower was just OK. Restaurant generally very good although with a couple of lapses. Plenty of choice for drinks, although on the expensive side. Staff friendly and generally very good. Wifi (reasonably fast) only in certain areas. The place itself is worth a half day just to explore and the ladies on reception can arrange tours or give advice on where to go (the Saturday market in Otavalo is a 'must see', much better than the usual tourist oriented affairs) Overall, a little out of the ordinary and that makes it worth a stay.
We found this on trip advisor and this was a family vacation with 5 people and 2 rooms. The property is massive and much to see on its own. We stayed 2 nights and loved the people, the rooms, and the property. It is an easy walk into a small town of San Pablo. The rooms are spacious and the ones we stayed in had fireplaces. They cm in every night and light the fireplace for you. They had a bar and a sitting are with craft beer from Ecuador. The restaurant was excellent. They are also dogs on the property who are friendly as well as horses and Llamas. I have attached several pictures of the property. They also have a pool and ping pong tables in the game room.
We stayed in Hacienda to visit Otavalo and had an amazing experience. The bedrooms, public rooms and open corridors are decorated with antique furniture, tapestries and paintings. The courtyards and gardens are tastefully laid out. Everywhere was a picture of elegance and harmony. The open fires in the dining room and lounge were welcoming. Lunches and dinners were excellent. Staff were all friendly and professional. Highly recommended!
The Hacienda Cusin is a beautiful property. We stayed 2 nights and by pure luck, we were the only overnight guests. So, we essentially had the entire hacienda to ourselves. All the staff working there could not be more courteous. The grounds are wonderful to wander around and the rooms are quaint and well decorated. We ate all of our meals at the restaurant and each was well prepared and tasty. If you have the opportunity to visit this part of the world, a stay at the Hacienda Cusin will certainly be memorable.
We stayed here for a couple of nights after a Galapagos Cruise - easy transfer from the airport and perfect destination to see a bit of real Ecuador .Lovely and quirky in its decor and with beautiful gardens and well located - definitely recommend. We had 2 days guiding by Christian Palomeque who was the best guide by a long way from our entire trip. He took us to Otavalo and its market and the various handicraft villages on our first fascinating day . On our second day we visited further into the country side , with views of the Andes, volcanic craters , a waterfall and gorgeous hikes. He was was warm and friendly with good English and can be contacted on c.palomeque@hotmail.com / 0997112662 . It was perfect end to a lovely trip.
