I spend three nights in Otavalo and had a very nice time at the Hostal Chasqui. The owner Roberto is super friendly and gives very good advice for visiting the city, its markets on Saturday and places nearby. The rooms are basic but clean. Wifi is good. No breakfast, but nice panaderias just down the road and the kitchen is... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hostal Chasqui in Otavalo. The proprietor, Roberto, made us feel right at home. He gave us lots of information on the town, including referrals for great places to eat; he also gave us inside information on the Inti Raymi Festival. The room was fantastic, with a nice view of the surrounding volcanoes. We’re going... More

We stayed here 2 different nights in 2 different rooms during our exploration of the area. Walking downtown is only about 4 blocks to the Plaza Grande, the Mercado is a couple of blocks further. The location is quiet and central. No breakfast is available, but the short walk will do you well. Roberto, Milton, and Brian were the managers... More

I stayed in Hostal Chasqui for one night in a private single room. The softly-spoken man who worked there was absolutely lovely, welcoming, and gave me so much information about the town when I arrived. He was also great for accommodating me when I realised I had made the booking for the wrong day. The room itself was cute, comfortable... More

A ghost town. Not like the pictures. No common area - only on the roof in the kitchen. The advertised bar that looks lively in the pictures, is shut down, dark, a true ghost town. Nice staff and fast internet though (although, my room was right next to the router)

This hostel is located just few minutes walk from the centre of town. We were greeted by the very friendly Milton who gave us a map and explained where everything is. Hot water was fine, wifi not so much. There's a good kitchen for cooking and a nice terrace to sit out on. Lots of good panaderias nearby for buying... More

I won't repeat all the positives in previous reviews. We stayed a total of 8 nights in two visits in two rooms. Because we had a reservation made earlier we paid $24 for two when others were charged the apparently new price of $30 for two. I encourage pushback on the price increase. The value is poor at $30. Some... More
