We spent 2 nights here on our way to the Galapagos and we were very happy with our decision to stay at Hotel Ramada. Our reservations were for a weekend package deal that you can only get online or via email and the prices were so much less than the normal room rate. The weekend package deal includs a free welcome cocktail and free internet access. The hotel provides free transfers to/from the airport - we were greeted by a friendly gentleman holding a sign w/ our name on it. The hotel is about 15 minutes from the airport and located right on the Malecon 2000 - the only hotel in Guayaquil that is located right on the Malecon 2000 (with lots of shopping, restaurants and wonderful walkways along the riverfront where it's safe to walk). We asked for rooms overlooking the Malecon and river and our request was granted. The hotel is older but they work hard to keep it clean and good wo rking order. The rooms have a/c but not the hallways. There is a very small elevator for the 4 floors but I wouldn't use it if you are claustrophobic; it's that small! The hotel provides lock boxes in each room but for the life of me we couldn't figure out how a lock would fit on the box and no place for a key either. The hotel has an inside pool, hot tub and 2 restaurants but only the casual cafe restaurant was open when we were there. The cafe has extended hours, the menu is very extensive and the prices were very inexpensive with very attentive service. Twice we ate lunch and dinner at the cafe. We were very impressed w/ the breakfast buffet that is included in the price of the hotel room. It was very extensive offering eggs cooked to order, meats, all types of cereals, 5 or 6 different types of unique juices, fresh fruits, and a good selection of breads and sweet rolls. LAN lost our luggage for 6 days but the hotel came to our need and provided us shampoo, conditioner, razor, toothbrush & toothpaste, shoe polish, shower cap and lotion all for free. The front lobby personnel allowed us to use their phone at no charge to call LAN numerous times trying to locate our luggage. And when our guide never showed one morning, again the front desk came to our rescue and made some calls for us, at no charge. When we were pressed for time to get to the Mall del Sol to purchase last minute clothing for the Galapagos due to our luggage not arriving, the hotel made arrangements for us to have a private driver & car to take us to the mall, wait for us, take us to the airport to pick up 1 piece of luggage and back again to the hotel. The front desk arranged a private driver again at midnight to take us to the airport one more time when we were told by LAN that our luggage had arrived (it hadn't). The hotel staff also allowed us to make copies of our lost luggage reports in their business center and again at no charge. One in our party lost a wallet w/ their driver's license and some cash not knowing where it was lost. It was found a few days later and the hotel returned to us (sans the US $). The staff was so helpful and cheerful during our troubling times doing their best to make our visit pleasant. We think a hotel's true colors come out in times like these and Hotel Ramada exceeded in every way.

This was a nice hotel located in a very convenient location right across the Malecon. Walking distance from Los Penas. The rooms were very nice with a comfortable bed and pillows, The WiFi worked great. The pool area is nice with comfy chairs and tables. The restaurant served nice meals and the free included breakfast buffet was great. Unfortunately the bar service was basically non existent. We were given free vouchers for a cocktail at the bar. We asked about 5 people, waited about 25 minutes to finally get someone to serve us our cocktail. When we were finished, we were told that the cocktail that we chose was not the free one. Ok....so we then paid for the one and ordered the free one. After 30 minutes, with no one around we decided to leave, gave my vouchers back to the front desk and told them there was no service. They just shrugged it off. Too bad the bar service ruined it for us, as this hotel could of gotten a much higher rating.

Dear Mr. Gerry S First and most important, I would like to thank you for taking the time to comment on our property. In reference to your remarks, we would like to apologize for the inconvenience caused at the bar. We have notified our F&B Manager about this situation so that corrective measures may be taken. We are in the middle of a refurbishing process, specifically in our restaurant and Deli. In the coming months we will be making a few chances in our bar as well that will allow us to offer the same type of service we give our clients in all of our venues. We hope to have the opportunity to host you again in a new future and show you the new changes we for you. Kind regards

Good location for exploring the Malecon. Good service, good breakfast, decent rooms. Clean, neat, and efficient. Good wifi connection in room. Perfect for our transition into Ecuador! Van service located right around corner for our trip to Salinas.

First, I would like to say that if I owned a hotel, I would be very happy with the staff we encountered at this site; they made the stay. As the hotel stands now, this hotel is a one night stay only for many reasons. Our reason for staying there was the location. On entry to the hotel, the road which you park on to enter is very dangerous with very fast moving traffic. We are under COVID restrictions, so we enter and we are treated with an alcohol spray and then moved forward to the reception. We made the reservation through booking.com. So it went smoothly. A young man escorted us to our room, where he explained the keycard. We entered the room where he explained the function of the a/c remote, and left. The room had no resemblance to the photos on booking.com. The young man did not explain the alarm system or where we would need to go in an emergency? The room was old like me. The furniture was functional; just, we could not open and close the drawers, so we did not use them. The curtains looked like they were last washed just before they were hung. The closet did have a safe, but it was too small for the two of us so we did not use it. The bathroom- the floor was wet from a leaking hose, which if laid in the bathtub would have prevented the water leaking onto the floor. The towels were just a little younger than I am and we were missing one? Talking about the bathtub, there was paint peeling from around the tub and it was stained. The hand basin was cracked. Sad to see that they did not use bulk sized toilet paper, and the same for the shampoo and conditioner. The use of bulk in the bathroom is environmentally better. The room- both beds moved when sat on? Both beds did not have a bedside light? Both beds did not have a headboard so the pillows would fall down the end of the bed? The pillows- I have never seen such small pillows and found it impossible to sleep on them. Both bed pillows did not have pillow protectors, both mattresses did not have mattress protectors? The included Wyfy was ok @ 10mbps, the TV was ok, the selection of channels was fine. They did not do a bad job of reducing the noise from the road below. Breakfast was included, nice, well presented and good selection. However, the restaurant was well overpriced and very limited in selection. I would give the food a pass and go somewhere else. I understand that there is reconstruction going on in the hotel, but please do not do a bait and switch; the room we stayed in was nothing like the photos on the web site. More than one night here is too much.

Great location but a crumby hotel. Absolutely lacked hospitality to the point of being uncomfortable. Overpriced car parking and everything will cost you something unlike the four star hotel a few blocks away. They inspect your room when your out without permission. Yes. The bathroom was old and needed at least a paint job. Let alone the plumbing and the incredibly bad pressure/heat shower you would expect at a $20 Hostel. Is it really a Ramada?

This was our first visit to Guayaquil and this hotel made it an excellent one. Room in excellent shape; clean, well decorated and excellent location The restaurant's food is excellent, and the attentions can't be better. The people at the front desk were helpful and with good manners.

The room was old and worn, they did not give us a wake up call as we had requested. We almost missed our plane because of this, they charged 98 cents for water to take a pill, tacked on a service charge, and the food was so bad could not eat it. Will not stay again

Dear Alba G. First and for most important, I would like to thank you for taking the time in sending your comments in reference to your recent stay in our hotel. In addition, I would also like to apologize for the inconveniences experienced throughout your stay. As you may have noticed, we are in the process of renewing our hotel both inside and out. We will soon be adding a new Executive Chef to our staff and he will be commanding a renovation that will lead us to a superior product. One that we are sure that will be to your liking. In reference to our rooms, we are also in the middle of a refurbishing process. As you may have noticed our lobby, entrance, bar and other areas have already been renovated. We will continue to renew areas of the hotel throughout the year. We hope that in the near future we´ll have the opportunity to host you once again and show a better side of the hotel. As you mentioned, our hotel is an independent brand to Ramada Inn. It´s a company that has been in the market for over 30 years. Once again, our sincerest apologies for the inconveniences caused. If there is any additional observation or requirement you may have, please let me know I will be more than happy to assist you. Kind regards,

I often wait a few days before I write a negative review to allow experiences, thoughts and emotions to settle in. By that time I get a clear picture of what was worth a mention and what is not. However this hotel stirred emotions nestled so deep within my cerebral cortex that I just have to vent. This is the possibly one of--if not the the worst hotel I have ever been to, and granted life has taken everywhere. It is as if bates motel and hotel cortez ( AHS) had a horror love child. Dark creepy hallways, quasi abandoned facilities, strange gunk on the bathroom walls. Honestly It gives the heebities just thinking about it. The horror starts at check in. Did you look at the pics and go "oh that's not bad...and its next to malecon, can't be that bad?..." yeah welcome to my world. However, FYI the rooms in the pictures are double what you probably reserved. They don't tell you that the room that you reserve is a creepy 1960's style room. They keep adjusting the price--want a view? 10 more! Want a room with no carpet that probably witnessed 4 mardi gras and 6 spring breaks? 20 more dollars! Want the rooms in the picture 30.00 more! There isn't a single thing I think of that would make me want to ever set foot in this hotel again. Put it this way, after taking a shower I noticed strange dark spots on the towel. Although I convinced myself it could have been some sort of stew or soup stain, the truth is, that it probably was skid marks. If that does not make you shriek in your boots, then get this, they swiped my card without my consent 2x, charging a total of over 300 usd for a bill of 150. The front desk said " oops, sorry." It just baffles how " oops sorry " could be part of the training manual. Additionally, if you are coming for business, there is no iron. What business man doesn't iron his clothes??? The solution? Send your clothes to the over priced laundry service with at least 1-2 hours of notice. I mean I can live with that, but wait, it better be between 9 am and 6pm, if not you are simply out of luck. Need someone to clean your bathroom/room after-hours? ( i spilled water in my room) Be ready to get a frantic handy man wiping with a towel. Cleaning staff have a 9-5 job. Thinking about eating at the hotel? Just to let you know every dish is 150 grams, that equals about 4 tiny pieces of beef in their outrageously overpriced goat stew, or 3 fingers of a hard two month old frozen sirloin steak. It is next to the malecon, i'll give you that, but the streets around the hotel--yikes! I felt safer when I visited Honduras. Honestly if this hotel wants to be in business they need to make some serious changes. Light all the hallways, clean the carpet, do a better job at cleaning, new menu, and a complete revision of staff mannerisms. For now, seriously there are many many more hotels in the area that are way better. Not to drop any names, but after the skid mark incident i checked and moseyed on over to a small hotel behind the courtyard Marriott for about 20 usd less and about 190% more value for money. WHAT A NIGHTMARE!

We were there only one night. The 1st room was very hot and very noisy. The 2nd room was much more comfortable but still a lot of traffic noise. Dinner at the Restaurant Malecon was not impressive! If you are deaf, no worries.

Hola Fabián. Llama o escribe directamente al hotel. Ellos te responderán. Es una buena opcion para hospedarse y el desayuno es riquísimo y abundante. Si llegas desde el aeropuerto, no pagues al taxis más de 6 dólares
