The hotel is in a nice location, easy to get to from airport, has clean rooms and a good comfortable look. The staff were nice and very polite. My only issue was that my room was on the first floor right by the street intersection which made it very noisy and hard to sleep. In addition, the air conditioning fan was extremely loud with no option to lower the speed or to turn it off. My only solution was to remove my room key from the activation slot and cut the power to the room, then, put it back in when the room gets hot. I was there for couple of nights, so I didn’t bother to change room.

The hotel is located just a short drive from the airport ($5.00 taxi fare) and is not far from the Central Park. We had an issue when booking our rooms, as I had booked a double room for two separate nights at the beginning of our trip to the Galapagos Islands and at the end. On checking our reservation, the online booking agency had only booked us a single room for both nights. After many emails and telephone calls, it was necessary to contact the hotel directly, who charged us an extra $28.00US per night to have a double booking. The room was exactly the same as the single room and only provided towels for one person anyway. On our visit at the end of our trip, we asked for a wake-up call which never came. Fortunately, I had set our own alarm as a backup. However, this could have caused us to miss our flight. We would not be staying at this hotel again.

We stayed here twice on our journey and the hotel is a reasonable one, dependent on who you have working on that day. There is a car park but it is very snug and can only take a few cars, as we were not driving we weren't bothered about that. Situated in the city, onl $6 taxi ride from airport (our arranged taxi didn't turn up!!!). It's say 20 mins walk from El Malecon and 10 form Malecon 2000, but towards El Malecon you have to pass through/around Central Park area and it's not nice at night! Nicely decorated and on our first visit the morning waiter at breakfast was excellent, he didn't speak English but we were able to get over cold milk for cereal etc. On our second visit the water just turned the TV up full blast and we had to pinch the control when he went in the kitchen and turn it down. The first visit the room was not made up at 4pm on our return, despite repeated requests at reception and them saying it was being done ...it was not!!!!!! In the end my husband had to get very cross with them and someone came down from floor 5 to sort the room...not very good at all! We were left sititng in reception waiting. Even when I asked someone dressed as the manager if he was that he ignored me and disappeared into a room by the side of reception - not willing ot deal with issues. They need to up theri game and ensure staff are adequately supervised, saying at recpetion someone is doing something, when they ignore it and carry on is not good customer relations! There are a few eateries around but not many especially when it's not a normal weekend.

Located on one of the main avenue, 9th of October, the lobby has numerous art pieces. Check in was quick. Was in room 511 . Quiet room, spacious, views of the side street. There’s a gym on the first floor. Opted for the non breakfast room rate as was much cheaper.

Only criticism could be that the bar area was more of just a restaurant and there wasn’t many people in there. We stayed here as a stop over to get the bus the following day to Montañita. The room was huge. The bed was massive and very comfortable. In the room we had a TV, fridge, excellent WiFi, it has big windows looking on to the street and black out curtains. The A/C worked well. The bathroom has free toiletries and a good hair dryer. The shower was powerful and had hot water. The staff were helpful. I can’t comment to much on the city and location to anything as we didn’t explore but it’s about 10 mins in a taxi to the airport/bus station.
